  1. Don't think too much beats Souness' appointment and Sibierski's transfer really.
  2. Can we sue Man City for this at least? I demand vengeance.
  3. That was the asking price. It's not rocket science mate. An asking price we won't pay.. Skirge, i'll simplify this for you. We bid, they accepted, we were about to tie up the deal when they raised the amount they wanted. I don't think it's a case of penny pinching, it's a matter of principal. I'd rather lose face and get the player in. I can understand why people are annoyed about it but the alternative is to look strong and miss out on the player. That's what it comes down to. agree, if we buy an equally good CB, it's all good.. but in the state that we're in, I somehow doubt that we can attract a better defender than Colo Spot on.
  4. Well Ameobi does score goals...
  5. Well as his agent said it's because we've offered Coloccini "the deal of his life." I'm sure if we penny pinched in contract negotiations he would have never given us a second thought.
  6. 2 in 2 weeks isnt that encouraging either Dave. We're still going to be very short of quality and quantity come the start of the season. And now with Viduka missing we can expect to see plenty of Ameobi and Smith. I'm not saying things are looking all brilliant and rosy in our garden (like some think I am). It just makes me laugh how people read 'I'm sure in the next two weeks we will see at least two signings coming in' and only seem to notice 'two signings'. I have to say I've been very patient with the owner and recruitment team so far but if we miss out on Coloccini I'm gonna scream bloody murder. There's only so much we can take before everyone will snap. Jesus wept. If we miss out on Coloccini it is not the boards fault. We agreed a fee, we discussed personal terms, Deportivo upped what they were asking and quite rightly we're refusing to rise to it. That's a pretty low way to go about transfer dealings and I for one am glad we're not folding like we did under Shepherd. We're not going to get a better player than him. We're a mid table club with nothing to offer players at all. If we have to pay over the odds to get him then frankly that's what we need to do.

  8. He can't do that until next summer so we are humongous idiots if that's what we're waiting in hope of.
  9. What went on there then? He went drinking with Joey Barton?
  10. FFS Yes the club really are a bunch of wankers. How dare they sit tight on a deal where the selling club are clearly in the wrong? f***ing idiots... It's not so much the fact that we've missed out on Coloccini (I'm actually happy that we haven't caved on their unreasonable demands) It's more the fact that everyone can plainly see - we have a very small squad & need about 5 new players to come in... 2 or 3 of whom should posses real quality. We've been told all summer that the players will be bought, don't jump on the board, don't stress... But now as things are starting to become urgent, we're being told that there's a chance of just TWO new players coming in. An offseason recruitment campaign that has snared only Bassong, Guthrie (squad players) & Gutierrez so far, is really underwhelming tbf. There are two weeks remaining... I'll reserve my judgement until then, but it's not looking great! We haven't missed out on Coloccini yet and Keegan meant 2 new signings before the season starts not just 2 signings before the end of the window.
  11. Meeting of the round table.

Try shiteam's house of imagination. They might be sold out though.
  13. load of rubbish. even SAF isn't that petty and will see the bright side of Ronaldo leaving Don't ruin the dream. A Fergieless Manchester United is a beautiful vision. f*** off! have you any idea how many dreams that bloke in your avatar has ruined? That's harsh...mostly because it's a woman.

  15. Why can't the bad transfers ever drag on like this? Imagine the bliss if the Smith transfer had dragged on and eventually he signed for someone else.
  16. Wasn't it the wardrobe who scored against France?

We can't afford to wait until the 31st of August. We need him in the starting 11 against Slavery United.

a few weeks? mate it's August tomorrow Better to wait a few weeks to get the right player and save a few million than getting a worser player or spending money unnecessarily. i'd agree with you, but defenders like Coloccini generally grow on trees that want to be nowhere near 12th placed clubs. I'm convinced that we cannot do better than him. Agreed.

I'm sure it's in Mike Ashley's head too. There's no other reason a person could enjoy Alan Smith's existence. I'm sure his mother is even ashamed of him.
