  1. Nothing a good wank and a diet coke won't get rid of. Get over yourself man!
  2. Does this not mean that we will now be signing a 3rd keeper? Should replace Pav really...
  3. Lowering the already ridiculously high expectations. I prefer this to the couple of drivel merchants in charge previously. At least he's telling it like it is
  4. A post that might stand some faint chance of making sense if the release clause was not in his contract. Exactly!! Vic, you're absolutely right in what you say up there. However the clause does skew the situation slightly, and certainly Owen's not the one to blame for that. May I ask you Vic....you say you were excited when the takeover happened, but you say you're now a little bored waiting for something good to happen. Please describe in your own words, what you would consider being a "good thing to happen"? Keep in mind that we're well on the way to having a bigger and better playing squad than last season, hopefully a lot more cash, handled by professionals who will want the best for the club (in order to net the biggest profits as a business), a manager in place who is very good at what he does, and renewed optimism amongst the toon army all round. Over to you..
  5. nail on the head. not just randomly on the head....but that precise spot +/- 0.01 nano inches on the head! fuckin hell some of the people on here!
  6. Sorry Felipao like...but I hope whoever gets through, Argentina or Mexico will absolutely demolish Brasil, and show them up for the overrated shite team they are.
  7. i think. sometimes. you heard it here first.
  8. Bontempi....sorry mate, and no offence at all to you personally.... But its getting on my bloody nerves how the slightest bit of "imperfect" news gets people "worried" or "slightly worried" that "we'll play like Bolton"!! For f***'s sake!! How many times have Bolton finished ahead of us since the SBR era ended? How much did Bolton spend in that time compared to us?? Also....sorry like...and this is my opinion....but if our team "plays like Bolton" next season, and you're even slightly worried...just shows you know f*** all about the game that is football!! First of all, Bolton were actually quite attractive to watch when on song. When off form, they at least managed to grind out results ANYWHERE HOME OR AWAY up and down the country! I wish people would put to bed this myth that is "ooh...me knees are all wobbly...big sam said this so we might play like Bolton....oooh f*** me..."!!! Just have faith in the first manager we've had for eons who has the slightest clue! And at least wait until January before moaning!! Just you stick to your opinion and i'll stick to mine! See simple! You don't have to write war and peace to try and convince me i may be wrong, we will have to wait and see like most things in life, but no i'm not panicking, just I know how I like my football! Again...really that post wasnt necessarily directed at you...but your post was just a trigger I suppose! No one wants to see dull football...but the point I'm trying to make is that Bolton did NOT play dull football by default. Big Sam planned and executed what he felt was necessary to win the game on the day, according to the players at his disposal on said day. The "Bolton brand of football" imo is merely a myth conjured up by media/fans of bigger clubs who were simply jealous that a team of journeymen like Bolton sometimes gave their superstars a bloody good hiding!

  10. Will never happen. Big Sam will want all his signings wrapped up asap. Judging by his early moves and his own methods, he wants his players getting as full a pre-season TOGETHER as is possible. Keep your eyes peeled. IF we sign someone big this summer (and its not 100% for me), it will happen faster than the fat one can chew, and you'll miss it even if you think about blinking. Seems to be the way Cutthroat Ashley likes to do things, and it's certainly a breath of fresh f****** air!! However, Bolton Wanderers swooped in and on August 25 2006, manager Sam Allardyce announced that he had signed Anelka on a four year deal for a club record of £8m. Your statement aren't necessarily true but, "Anelka took time to settle in at Bolton, and took until 25 November 2006 to score his first league goal for the club." That might be the downside of a player who did not go through the pre-season together. Keep in mind that Bolton had never signed a player of that calibre before, and it may have taken some convincing for Anelka to join, hence a delayed decision.
  11. Big risk agreed, I can't remember ever seeing him play so I can't say how good he is. Comolli thinks Kaboul is good enough to take Dawson's position now (better than Desailly at the same age he reckons) but King won't be fit for the start of the season in any case so probably Kaboul and Dawson to start off with Rocha and Gardner (if he hasn't left) the backups. Bent has already proved himself able (if not brilliant) in the premiership but a definite upgrade on Mido, Bale I don't see starting too often to start with tbh. LW and a strong central MF still being sorted, another RB assuming Chimbonda does go, it wouldn't surprise me to see 4 more still coming in. The one who will get plenty of playing time I think will be Taarabt, all the coaching staff are raving about his ability. Better than Desailly at his age? Assumption is the mother of all fuck-ups.

  13. Fred Savage? Yeah Baby!!!! Gem...why do I feel like you're only posting today so I can stalk you?
  14. Dont really give a dog's bollock who they get who's better and for much less. It's their problem. Just think they could take advantage of the profit they can make on a player who's just overhyped. Not saying Chimbonda's shite mind....but I'd sell at 7M nevermind 12!!!
  15. Chimbonda is massively overrated, and if I ran Spurs i'd snap Mourinho's hand off and make a bloody killing on a player albeit a solid recruit, is overrated and nowt special all the same. Sorry, but the fee being bandied about is ridiculous, and the club's valuation of him is just delusional.
  16. Some people's expectations, BEFORE big sam has even been in the home dugout at SJP for the first time, are outrageous to say the least. The guy has come in, and very clearly made it obvious that through the takeover, and his own brand of management, a massive spring cleaning op is underway at a club that has been rotting away for years. When you're conducting an overhaul of everything from the training facilities and methods, to playing and backroom staff, it means a completely new start no matter which way you look at it. I want Newcastle to win the league every single year!!! No one is happy with mid-table, top 10, or a UEFA spot, let alone 2nd place!! But the idea is that big sam is re-building everything from the bottom up. I personally am of the belief that the stronger our foundations, the more lasting our success will be. It's not a dead-on certainty that big sam will succeed in realising his visions for the club, but im 100% confident that he at least knows what he's doing, and will do his best to achieve far and beyond our own dreams and expectations as newcastle fans.

Someone needs geography lessons. Thats not quite the middle east mate
  18. Well....just spoke with a hardcore Barca fan mate of mine, and he hates Edmilson with a passion. Says he does f*** all...has horrible control when playing in midfield, and drops the odd clanger. However, he says that in fairness he was brought in as a CB, and done well playing there. Cant get a game ahead of the darling of Cataluniya Puyol and Marquez. Rijkaard tried to convert him into a DM, but it seems that it hasnt worked out very well. Oh, and by the way.....for some reason, my mate also doubts that Barca would be willing to let Edmilson go....and he seems to believe that it's actually Motta we're after!! Go fucking figure!!
  19. Top post. I think the idea is to steady the bloody ship first before moving on to invest in youth. The way to go imo. Sam has got it spot on, and the coming days will prove that.
  20. looks like a bed-pan! bloody hell!
  21. Your first thread should be a huge version of your avatar. Get off on the right foot. I second that
  22. Would be yet another shrewd signing by the big boss man. Get him in.
  23. K Brock? Babayaro cant even make the alphabet team
  24. As much of that money as possible should be spent on players who can keep possession! As someone just mentioned...i think thats been our biggest problem in recent years. As shit as our defence used to be...it was mainly down to us not being able to hold on to the ball and use it wisely that has cost us.
