So, he single-handedly spared 42,000 people the tedium of a 0-0 draw. Whattaguy! keep in mind all the millions watching on television as well. Wor Titus has the x-factor!!

This is all going a tad bit overboard now!! Instead of calling for Allardyce's head at this stage of the season, we should instead be looking to get him on a Q&A, and have the fans question him over his tactics and team selections. See if the man can take these questions, and how he would answer them. I think you will find that to be more of an eye opener than to just piss and moan about him not being good enough at this stage of his tenure, and especially at this stage of the season. I personally still maintain hope that things will turn around, despite the shower of shite on view week in week out.

Had someone else started this thread, it would have been locked quite early. Seeing as its Crumpy....well...N-O does love a controversy... With all my respect to Crumpy, but this IS unsubstantiated drivel

top top fucking post. Sam's staff is one of the main reasons i dont want him gone. We will only see the benefits of his management style in the long term. I for one am prepared to wait. Wish the sky kids and cynical fuckers can have a bit of patience as well.

Finally managed to be in the UK during the Prem season!! Got tickets for this match, but they're in the NW L7A. How's the view from up there?? My very first time at SJP ,and have my younger brother with me. Should I try and find closer tickets for a first time experience? Also, Im driving up from SW London on the day, and plan on staying the night at the Malmaison. Any good?

Personlly I think Kaka is way too overrated! It's Pirlo, Gattusso, and Seedorf who make him look better than he actually is. Obviously he is a class player, but nowhere near as good as Ronaldo or Messi. IMO Pirlo is a much much better player, and is the best center midfield player on the planet at the moment.

Both sensible. Well maybe Ashley can have a word with Blatter about the 4-4-3 just in time for the game? Agree with the line ups in principle. Smith should NEVER EVER play in midfield again!!

Even the Fulham fans stayed behind 15 minutes to watch us going mental Wish I had been there....but THIS is exactly the reason results like this matter a lot more than the performance. The traveling fans will not give a fuck about remembering the game. We deserved the 3 pts simply because we got them. -
Willing? are you? really? Thanks for your kindness

You lot have played some fantastic football this season. Don't think you can last up there, but could sneak 5th easy. Good luck.

Please tell me you're taking the piss. No. I like the look of him when Ive seen him, but how can he be rated highly when he basically hasn't played? £6.7m was it? I'd like to see him starting, especially as he cost that much and is our only LB in the squad. I'm totally in the camp that wants him starting, and Zoggy in midfield. But, so far Enrique has barely played, hence the low rating. Well...to the camp that wants him starting: What if he plays 3 games on the trot let's say, where he has 2 decent games and then a nightmare 3rd!!? What would the newcastle fans do? and the media??? Everyone got on Cacapa's back for slipping up against Pompey. He's 31, and was a FREE signing. Can you imagine what the fans and media would do to a 21 yr old Spaniard who cost us over 6M??? Big Sam is obviously protecting him from bollocks like this. Big fee, 5 yr deal. He's obviously a long term solution. Be f****** patient man!! Calm down! Wots that rant all about?! Think you are directing that at the wrong person? If you see, Ive rated Cacapa highly, just want him playing more often... I'm calm mate! Post quoted yours, but wasn't directed at you only. Just don't understand what the rush is with Enrique. At the moment, we're grinding out results, and although our midfield is suffering from it, Zoggy has done alright at LB. I would rather we got the results gradually, while continuing to ease Enrique in, than to risk playing him and ending his career here before it's even started because of the fickle element in our fan base.

Abaolutely. As we build the momentum up through the season, I think this is what Big Sam was trying to do at those away games we managed to fuck up. Sweet when it works -

Very shit post -
No shit!! See why wouldn't someone like that just take 2 million a year, and help feed starvation in Africa with the remaining 4? I'm sure it wouldn't kill him! Hell the FA could do it themselves! The amounts of money in football these days is filthy. I know its a cliche...but it still rattles my brain! On the face of it, this is a good appointment for England, and somewhat of a coup. Although Capello himself may or may not succeed...it doesn't matter. I think he will bring with him a new and different angle to show the English footballing culture, that will hopefully leave a lasting mark that will change the public's mentality into a winning mentality. Something which I think has been the biggest hinderance to England teams since the disappointments of '86 and '90.

Great news!!! Good night and good luck Baba

Mort is talking sense, but as I've suspected for some time he is of a very conservative nature. It's all very well saying we want to be like Arsenal etc...And thinking long term...But we're only half way through the season and some of the top 6/7 are still losing games and will continue to each other...I feel one or two good senior signing in Jan would make a big differeance. I think it would as well, but maybe their approach is to get some youngsters in, then if a decent player for a decent price comes up then go for him; instead of publicly looking for players and to be held over a barrel ala Boumsong a few winters windows ago. Plus, I think the days of coming out to the media and bragging about the money we will need to spend strengthening the defence etc.. are long gone with the previous regime having now thankfully f***** off. Mort's comments could well be a smokescreen. I hope they are. But if not, then I'm still not worried, as I personally have faith in Big Sam's plans. Yeah its fair to say that previous approach got us fuking nowhere apart from near bankrupcy. It would be nice to be dazzled with a big name attacking mid like VDV or Diego, but if we have to wait a little longer to attract that quality then so be it, its the price you pay for poor board level decisions and failure at every level for several seasons. I think publicly, we're going about things in a casual manner. Hopefully, this will mean clubs wont hold us to ransom knowing we are desperate for x or y player. That's what I'm hoping is going on.
