  1. They say a team reflects the manager, and Pardew is a clueless coward in footballing terms. Bringing Shola on, and moving Cisse to the wing so that he could revert to his favourite hoofball tactic just underlined the point. Our squad is now far too good for Pardew, and will never get anywhere near their potential with him as manager.

    Those fucking subs man!!!
  3. Performance wise it feels like we're in the depths of a trough but, following the great window, we're just about to take off almost vertically and shoot up that league. However, decades of disappointment have been indelibly etched on my memory so I'll settle for a score draw tomorrow.

I'm with you on that, we need to strike a balance. Young, full internationals and Championship winners for the price we've got them for. Where else would we get the deals we've got the last month?
  5. I said it yesterday, I'm sure Colo will be disappointed at not getting his way, but he's a professional. I'm sure he'll get on with it so why not leave him as captain? It's stating the obvious, but he's just tried to walk out on us when we needed him most. Not the ideal example of giving your all for the cause is it?

Reckon he's still in the job only because we want to lure the new players in. I think we'll have a new manager / Carver as caretaker from February. Not likely. He'll be given the rest of the season with the improved squad he's been asking for,, then if we are still not getting results he'll be replaced in the summer I reckon. There's a huge difference between getting results and playing the style of football that is going to suit the type of player we already have, and seem to be getting. We all know Pardew is way out of his depth from a coaching and tactical perspective, and that's not going to change before the end of this season. We need to be looking for his replacement now. My ideal scenario would be to sack him at the end of the window, but certainly at the end of the season whether he keeps us up or not. There's no place for Hoofball Pardew with this sqaud, and he's not going to be able to change or adapt his philosophy as some have suggested. Hopefully Carr is whispering this in Fat Mike's shell like, and I see no reason why Carr can't recommend decent Continental coaches as well as decent footballers. There'd be plenty creaming their pants at the prospect of working with half the French National squad.
  7. The football was worse in the 70s but at least you could stand with your mates and sing your hearts out for the lads, whatever the performance or the result. And it felt good.

Pardew shouldn't have criticised the crowds' reaction. It's yet another strategic mistake by Pardew, and it'll come back to bite him because he's unleashed the anger of the crowd which will add to the pressure on all his future touchline decisions.
  9. That would certainly be entertaining seeing him kick the fuck out of the dugout every game.

Tend to agree. He'll be sacked shortly after we lose to Villa I reckon. I'd settle for that at this point, just can't see it happening. Pardew getting the sack I mean, not us losing to Villa.

Great spot Al. The bit I've bolded is shit isn't it? I'm not sure that he's been in a relegation fight at any club and turned it around. He doesn't say he's successfully dealt with it.

But he said in his Sky and BBC interviews that Cabaye was injured at half time so he's totally contradicted himself.

Not a very clever move from Pardew to criticise the crowd today. I can see this re-opening the division between the Geordies and the Cockney mafia again, with Ashley keeping Pardew whatever the results, and us spiralling towards the Championship.

Word. TBF I don't think there's any reason for him to resign. If he has pride in his work then he'll want to put it right. You're missing the point. He's incapable of putting it right because he's way out of his depth!
  15. Pardews Sky interview, "Played well first half, 2nd half couldn't get a grip on game. Gave away 2 sloppy goals. When you're down bottom things go against you. Took Cabaye off because of injury which had a negative effect on the crowd which spread to the players. That's where we are and we can't get away from that, we need to play through it. We lost our way a bit. We've lost Demba Ba, we've lost Chiek who are both big players. Cabaye is on his way back. Need impetus, we need signings." Didn't say: yes I fucked up, I didn't drive team forward to bury a piss poor Reading side. I am a park manager masquerading in the Premiership, and I will take this squad down!

It's his job to inspire the eleven we put out to perform and get a result. Does he inspire you? He is fucking desperate man!
  18. That game's undone all Beckham's good work promoting the game in America.
  19. Spill the beans then, what's he been up to???
  20. Rather he was unhappy and we didn't get relegated personally. This. He's a professional footballer. He needs to get on for what he's paid to do. Easier said than done. Can anyone honestly say there is nothing in their personal life that would make you miss work if it went tits up? I know I cant. Only in a few certain jobs could you get compassionate leave. You cannot use normal jobs as an argument involving footballers, they just aren't comparable, I'm also guessing that in most normal jobs you aren't stuck thousands of miles away from your family. Also it doesn't look as though Coloccini is asking for compassionate leave here, if reports are true he's willing to throw away his career and millions of pounds so it's clearly important to him that he needs to go. Hopefully it's just a particularly bad time that will pass sooner rather than later, or if he does have to leave we can convince him to come back whenever he's sorted. Whatever it is must have been going on for weeks, even months. He hasn't been at it since the mackem game. It's been a carefully orchestrated build up to this point, first his old man saying that he'd like to see him back, then the Argie club officials saying they want him back, followed by today's news. For him to allow it to get to this point, it must be his family on the line.
