Even if it's backfiring? Two words - end product. Marveaux will create more chances and score more goals, they're more important than Jonas's work rate and personality.
-
He's going to be a good backup for Marveaux and/or Obertan in the not too distant future.
-
What's he smiling about, she's bitten his cock off!

Out of all the strikers we were linked with my opinion is that all of them were risky and would not, necessarily, have been an improvement on what we've got. Bellamy a possible exception to that, but I wouldn't want to see him back here. As someone said earlier it's potentially a £20 million call, and if I had been making it I would have kept the money in the bank too.

Pardew was as much to blame as anyone for building the fans' expectations by almost guaranteeing a new striker before the close of the transfer window. He needs to keep his mouth shut in future until he introduces new players to the media in their black and white shirt.

And inside knowledge.

He is our left back, like. No, he's a player we're potentially signing who can play left back, as well as right back and right wing from the video clips I've seen of him.
-
Check out his clip playing for Inter v Spurs last year, he looks tricky but always cuts back onto his right peg. Looks like a good buy but probably more of a utility player, doesn't look the solution to our left back situation long term to me though.
-
Just watched the following clip having never heard of him before: Nope. Looks canny, but he is all right foot!

Please tell me that this can only be a clever ruse to give PSV the impression that we have got a plan B in order to get us some leverage regarding the price.

It's all well and good claiming the moral high ground in all of this but, unfortunately, morality and modern day football do not sit well together. It's also rather naive, unless you're advocating NUFC don't try to compete in the soiled and grubby multi million pound world of modern football, and are prepared to see us slide down the leagues. If that's the case you'd be better off supporting Gateshead or Blyth Spartans where the Corinthian spirit that you seem to hanker for still exists. Ashley is showing once again that he is quite prepared to burn millions of pounds because he is incapable of effective man management, and/or unable or unwilling to employ people to run the club who are effective man managers. We are, once again, the laughing stock of the football world.

The following from Skysports: Newcastle's Alan Smith could be on his way to the US after Orlando City revealed their interest. The 30-year-old is in the final year of his contract at St James' Park and has been told he is unlikely to be offered a new deal. Smith is a firm fans' favourite at Newcastle for his indefatigable work rate and his tenacious tackling, but he has hinted he could be prepared for a fresh challenge abroad. Made me smile.

Over the last couple of seasons we've enjoyed the best team spirit at NUFC since the Keegan era, and that was down, in no small part, to Kevin Nolan. We've just ripped the heart out of the dressing room and, irrespective of how many individuals we bring in, that's going to show on the pitch next season.

Anyone know how much putting in a transfer request has cost AC? Does it cost a player a percentage of the transfer fee?
-
Are you employed? Was Jim Davidson's joke writer but times change. The point I was intending to get across is that AG and RK are like a couple of school kids with playground humour. I'll bet there are numerous other bits of footage with them being equally stupid. Doesn't make it right but for whatever reason they've been hung out to dry by Sky - why now? Do you think Sky will replace AG with a female pundit even if they proved themselves the best person for the job? Gray was suing the News of the World for tapping his phone. Perhaps Murdoch thought it was about time he taught Gray a lesson.

Probably injured, but Ranger should ensure his opportunities are now limited.

Agreed, but the timing is fucking shite man! why would it be? Still long way to go in the season and the transfer window is just round the corner. The players we've got will be totally demotivated by Hughton's sacking, and the fat bastard won't put his hand in his pocket to buy players in January and there's usually shite players available in the window anyway! Like I said, shite timing!

Done deal then!

It's only a matter of time before he does a Didi Hamman and goes to a "big" club.

Jonas is one of the most frustrating players I've seen. He's got great close control in tight situations but when he's got space to run into and the chance to get at the centre of the opposition defence, as he did today, he seems to lose confidence and gives it away cheaply. And his shooting...
-
Agree with that. Colo's shite against powerful, physical strikers. Pick from the four to best nullify the opposition. As you said earlier, we would have lost with Colo playing today.
