  1. It's comments like this that make me about some of our support, football is emotive, but after 12-18months you'd hope that people would start to get a sense of perspective, particularly when other events in the footballing world unfold and shed some light on the underlying situation at every business. Footballing-wise, there have been some horrendous mistakes made, especially the attempt to sign Harry Redknapp (wtf?!) then the doomed appointment of KK; however, it is noticeable that their decisions are improving (even if it's just because they are making fewer of them). Business-wise, we can only really go off the numbers published at the end of every year, as we all know that the club have deliberately misled the supporters in the past. To date, the financial situation is improving, so I find it hard to fault Ashley for those decisions. So what's the problem with HTL's point??? The "whole series of bad decisions" made by the "inept wankers" led a lot of people to draw the conclusion that they were deliberately trying to destroy the club. Ashley has burned hundreds of millions of pounds before our very eyes, and there were a lot of people commenting on here, and elsewhere, that he was determined to put us into administration. I never went that far, but I'm in full agreement with HTL that the club is run by "inept wankers", and I'm not prepared to forgive and forget because we've had an amazingly successful season in the CCC despite Ashley and his cronies.
  2. Don't want to keep playing the same card but as easy as it is to point the finger, he's looked uninterested in the last 2 games according to lads who've been to the games. He's got nowt to play for there anymore. If that's the case it calls into question his character and professionalism. Mix that with the fact that we don't know if he's any better than what we've got, and you've got to ask if he's worth the risk.
  3. Not only have Nolan's goals been invaluable, but I believe he's one of the strong characters in the dressing room that's been pulling the individual players together, and creating the team ethic that we've benefitted from this season. Long may it continue!
  4. I agree. I reckon we'd get Beckford if we offer £1.5m + Ranger for rest of season. That would suit both parties as I feel Ranger would thrive at Leeds and Beckford would be ideal for us.
  5. It wasn't a foul, and it wasn't a world class save??? You boys have obviously learned a lot more than I'll ever know from playing football manager computer games. Gutted I didn't get one for Christmas now, hopefully next year.
  6. Just to put his performance into context, I agree that he looks much better against second rate strikers but got on wrong side of Lita from corner in first half and that mistake would have been punished by Premiership strikers as was the case last season. I don't think he's outstanding, and certainly not worth the £10 million we paid for him. I hope he continues his good form in this division and we can perhaps get our money back on him at some stage.

    Jonas Gutierrez

Did I see pinpoint and Jonas in the same sentence???
  8. I'm pleased as well because like Enrique who also got stick early on, it's clear that Colo has some great defensive qualities. If we get promoted and don't sell him he's one of the few in this squad with the class to step up. You must have a very short memory mate! He didn't look that good last season, I wonder what's changed. Oh yes, he's playing against 3rd rate strikers, in a division where Shola has looked a world beater.

Nice to know the arguments are more thought out and constructed Can I make it any clearer? I'm not a fan of him at all, I f***ing hate him, he's tearing my club apart and is showing no compassion whatsoever. Just because I don't want to pick up a pitch fork and descend upon SJP looking for his head on a spear doesn't mean I accept what hes doing. Nice try though. But you aren't prepared to do anything to show your displeasure at him tearing our club apart. You are sitting quietly by and letting him do it. Sometimes a silence speaks volumes. I'm 'sitting back and letting him do it' because it's all I can do. I would happily stand up and make my voice heard if I thought it was going to work, but it won't because ASHLEY DOESNT GIVE A f***. Everything up to the changing of the stadium name has shown that. Some people are living in la la land and refuse to admit that Ashley has the power and holds all the cards. An upset fanbase will not make him sell up. Maybe it is partly apathy, but I don't see how an angry-fuelled outburst is going to make things better - it'll only get worse. How the hell is it going to get worse from fans making their voices heard? To be honest Jonny, we are lucky to top of a very poor division as it is. We are hardly setting the league alight are we? I'm not saying we are. Are you actually reading what I'm posting? I'm not happy in the slightest, I think we're utter s*** and the league table is being very generous to us. I feel exacty what you feel. I'm just think differently about acting out about it. I am reading what you are reading. But I don't understand how you can comfortably continue to sit there doing nothing. I'm not comfortable about it, but there's little alternative. We don't need to tell Ashley how we feel, I think even that daft cunt realises he's a hate figure now. I wouldn't want to be in the trenches with Jonny or Kezman. Jonny obviously hasn't studied world history. There are many examples where apathy has led to atrocities, and many examples where fighting for a just cause, against the odds, has won the day. I wonder where Jonny's line in the sand is?

Stops me looking like an utter fool by needlessly protesting against somebody whom it has already proven it will not affect at all. But no, we have to do it to show others that we will not stand for it. Why the f*** we should care what other people think about is like, it's not like they don't just make their own opinions anyway! i thought the first protest forced ashley to publicly put the club up for sale no sorry that was you keeping your arse warm! There was a lot out there protesting against Ashley I was supporting the team. There was the same result - he's still here afterall. Jonny Hall confirms himself as the most apathetic, fence sitting apologist ever to post on here!

The complete lack of searching questions or damning criticism of the f***ing Bert 'N' Ernie show on Barrack Road - aside from the likes of George Caulkin - has been nothing short of a disgrace. Lowes and the BBC will have had to follow the party line, otherwise Llambias would have refused to talk. The club would also probably seek to cancel their contract with Radio Newcastle. should they have been too hard on them. The interview will have been ringfenced from the start. All journalists, including those working for the BBC, have a duty to report the facts as they see them, and to include editorial content to express their opinion of the situation. We don't want journalists who are afraid to speak the truth, or who kowtow to the idiots "managing" NUFC in case their journalistic privileges are taken away. The pen is mightier than the sword is true only if those wielding it have the courage to tell it as it is, and to rip into Ashley and his cronies in the strongest possible way. Caulkin has set the standard, the other Newcastle based journalists have a lot of catching up to do. I'll say again - Llambias will have refused the interview unless he had control over what questions were asked. The agenda shouldn't be allowed to be set by Ashley or his cronies. The journo's should realises that they have a lot of power, and should be slaughtering Ashley and Lambias at every opportunity. The pressure would soon start to tell on the current regime and their "reign" would come to an end sooner if that happened!

  13. This is what concerns me, if we do go up and want to stay up we are going to have to go out and spend a load on the attack, we'll need a 15 goal a season striker and you're looking at 8-10M that ain't gonna happen. We'll also need an entire new midfield and a premiership standard one even just average will cost 10-20M if not more. Don't you think there are more pressing matters to be concerned with?
  14. Less than 30secs. Impressive. Seriously though, it's becoming really tiresome. You think he's brilliant, we get it. Yes but we need to defend the players who have ability (to the my eye, i admit) who are being singled out by the masses incorrectly (again, imo). So many times Colo has taken heat for the paucity of the rest of the team. This season's results are very telling. What that Colo is Championship class and not Premiership?
  15. Better to be a lucky manager than a good 'un! Shite starting line up, shite tactics, shite substitutions! It can't last, can it?!
  16. http://www.people.co.uk/sport/football/tm_headline=ashley-s-name-gain%26method=full%26objectid=21788982%26siteid=93463-name_page.html Anal reports that Ashley has put a £6 million per season price on the naming rights of the stadium. Yeah right, and you's going to pay that you fucking fat cretin?!
  17. Would that include Chopra that Ronaldo probably said wasn't good enough for us?

    George Caulkin

At last an article in tonight's Chronicle ripping into Fat Ash the way they should be. It's just a shame that John Gibson's journalistic skills are Unibond League compared to Caulkin's Premiership class.
  19. Can't see it happening. It's another ridiculous idea from Fat Ash that neither him or his cronies has thought through.

    George Caulkin

George Caulkin speaks for all Newcastle fans, and far more eloquently than most of us could ever hope to emulate. It's such a shame that we don't have a journalist working at Thomson House who has the journalistic nous or bottle to get stuck into Ashley the way Caulkin has. We need a strong anti Ashley voice ringing out from our local newspaper, a voice that the fans can rally behind in order to rid ourselves of Ashley and his cronies. Keep up the good work George!
  21. If we'd had a strong manager over the last 5 games we could have another 6 points in the bag!
  22. I read somewhere that Hughton had been offered 5k a week. Perhaps he's told them to poke it, and if they aren't going to offer him the going rate to manage a club of NUFC's stature he's off! If Hughton walked out of a club at the top of the Championship he would then be top of the list at most clubs who will be looking for a new manager this season. I like your thinking Chris. Go for it son!
  23. I'd be happy to have Strachan here because that would mean we'd got rid of the fat one because Strachan could never work with/for an idiot like Ashley. I also think he's a very good manager and his appointment has certainly increased the chances of the smoggies getting promoted this season.
