Must admit I've seen absolutely nothing to suggest we should sign the lad. He may well have talent and ability, he may well have scored goals in Holland but it's bargepole time as far as I'm concerned. He's looked (largely) shit each time I've watched him.

Doesn't Moncur still appear magically at about 1pm for home games to circulate in the corporate areas? Other clubs call them 'club ambassadors' or some such shit - basically a familiar (successful/famous) face who does the rounds to make the people who've paid more for their tickets feel a bit more important than the rank and file. They think they're rubbing shoulders with a bit of an NUFC celeb and he has an active role on matchdays. Would explain why his tongue is brown.

Cautiously optimistic that Pardew and the squad have been told on the qt that he's going. Nothing more than gut instinct though. Pardew's bullishness about next season could quite easily be more lies, he's an expert at it. He'll want to spin it as if he's been unlucky and didn't deserve the sack ec. That's more for the other chairmen in the league imo. As I say, just a hunch but bits and pieces are starting to fit together. Just hope he goes.

Shola may well go on to be an excellent coach but I'd like someone else to take a chance on him to prove it one way or the other. I'd much prefer to hire coaches who have already proven they're quite good at it. How likely that is to happen is another issue entirely.

I'd like to think we'd move away from the old "seems like a decent lad, give him another role at the club and see if he's any good". Much prefer it if we went out and hired a few good coaches with a bit of pedigree.

If there's any truth in this then it's another massive blow to Pardew. He's been publically humiliated into cowering into his home dugout and now he's asked for a player he wants to be given a new contract and the board have gone "errr, nor like." Untenable. He's just hanging on now, the wall-pushers will be the ones to knock the cunt out.
