I just can't have any frame of reference when you go back to the 1900's. At least with the Cup Final's in the 50's you can see a bit of footage and some of the names are familiar but the 1900's don't even register.

Maybe you should just have another glance back? you haven't understood. their range/variety of approaches/tactics/formations is one-dimensional. as in, they can only play one way with one formation. it's not perfect. They almost never need a plan B though because they're so good at what they do. No excuse is it? Their approach is far form perfect and can (and has) been exploited in the past. I wouldn't be content with it if I cared.

You can never get an accurate list by doing this as they buying club also plays a big part. If Tiote is wanted by City and Chelsea then the price will go through the roof. If Spurs want him and he hands in a transfer request then you can knock the price down by a third. It's an impossible exercise.

If a good player like Enrique wants to play for a CL team then I wouldn't begrudge them at all. As long as they go about things in the right way and formally ask for a transfer, wait for permission to speak to other clubs and then make the move. He deserves to be playing at the highest level and if he doesn't want to stay then I've honestly not got a problem with that. I don't like it but I understand it. It's the nature of the beast.

Only the ones that are good, all the bad ones are rubbish. It's a pretty grim picture overall for them though. They've got some canny player but it's not sustainable at all.
