  1. Just going to wait and see how this pans out before I jump in and have a pop at the lad. There's always a bit of context involved and if there's charges to answer and he's made some daft decisions then he'll have to accept it and take it on the chin, we all make mistakes and there's always the distinct possibility he's got an addiction which he'll need help and support for. He's our player now and we need to do the best for him and the club and that means waiting for actual facts and details to come out. I'm dismissing everything that comes out of the Italian press until it's confirmed. It looked really bleak for Paqueta for a week or so until it seemed to vanish and be forgotten about. Not saying this will go the same way but let's just see first. I can accept a few tongue in cheek comments but some of the stuff I've seen written about him since this broke has been shocking and way ott
  2. Perfectly fitting that the gormless fat cunt ends his miserable career in Kent
  3. Just wait until we need a point to qualify in the last game against Milan...
  4. Still not fully processed this result and performance yet tbh. It was staggering, all of it. The result, the resilience, the bravery and the sheer scale of it. It's one of those results that will become a bit of a milestone in the journey of the club - it was that good. Howe and the players were utterly superb from start to finish. Pressed the shit out of them, scared them stiff and reaped the rewards it gave. Sticking 4 past PSG whilst simultaneously keeping M'bappe, Dembele and Ramos quiet is exceptional. They weren't ready for us, they underestimated us and now they're behind us. Show the same levels home and away to Dortmund and we'll win the group of death. We're fucking back baby

    Dogawful Officiating

The fact it's taken about 3 or 4 years for Liverpool to be on the wrong end of one of these decisions is telling too. Other clubs have been shafted loads of times but when it's them for the first time there's widescale fan outrage and official statements in response to the apology. It's been a long time coming for this lot and all the whinging and crying and indignation we've seen over the last 24 hours is ridiculous. They got shafted - the end. They burst their VAR cherry. I can understand some anger but I'm sure they've had plenty of good decisions from VAR over the last few seasons. Suck it up buttercup

Yet another reason why we should be able to hear the communication back and forth between the ref on the field and the VAR team at Stockley. If they knew the audio was being broadcast live then I think there would be more time and care taken to reach the correct and justifiable decision with their reasoning out in the public domain. Why can't that happen? Happens in cricket and the egg chasing and can't see any reason why it shouldn't happen in the PL. The more transparency the better
  7. Interesting to see how 'staggered' Villa are when Brighton have the ball. They're occupying spaces and filling gaps whereas we often look very flat and occupy distinct lines across the pitch. Brighton just don't have the time or space to knock it about and Villa are on them immediately no matter which way they try to go.
  8. We batter Villa, Brighton batter us, Villa batter Brighton. Gotta love the Barclays
  9. Mbappe off injured. Hope it's nothing trivial.

Back in training for the fixtures after the next International break? May only miss 3 or 4 games with a bit of luck

These jokers finished 22 points behind the lot we stuck 8 past this afternoon. The gap is ridiculously big and getting wider each week.
  12. Bet it's been shit to watch though
  13. Will never not smile at childish shit like this
  14. I kicked the setee about 3 feet across the front room when he got the winner. Still stinging now - the foot and the result
  15. Huge point that. If we're going to qualify then Milan are the direct rival for 2nd place and taking a point away from home puts us in the box seat for that. Still to play them at SJP and I think it'll be a very different match over here and I think we'll beat them in November tbh. Obviously hung on for long periods but that's what you've got to do at times, just dig in and grind out points. Pope was tested but I'd have fancied most of this board to make the saves he did tonight, he had quite a few to make but they were all pretty routine and comfortable, no worldie saves needed. Each game in this group is going to be an education and the players will grow and adapt as we get more and more used to the demands these games make. Solid start, clean sheet, point on the board and (crosses fingers) no injuries or suspensions. We can now look forward to PSG and rattling those fuckers up here very soon. It's a good night, enjoy it gentlemen
  16. Don't be daft, it's absolutely brilliant

  19. The good news is that we get to do it all over again on Tuesday night when they play S Korea. Yay
  20. Thought Chelsea -> Clearlake -> PIF -> Riyadh Airlines?
  21. Main worry for me is the complete lack of intensity and energy so early in the season. For a club to come up with 'Intensity is our identity' mantra and play the way we have done for the last 3 halves or so is baffling. Not a huge sample size but the lack of clean sheets for nearly half a season would suggest something isn't working and needs fixing asap. Another worry is the suspicion that we've been sussed. Klopp and de Zerbi have utterly schooled him over the last 2 weeks and also given the rest of the league a blueprint to negate us and pressure certain players in certain positions and wait for the mistakes to arrive. We've looked sloppy, timid and disorganised and Howe will need to find a solution, either changing formation or personnel or maybe both. CM looks great on paper but it's being bypassed and far too easy to play through with simple passes. Hope he's torn a strip off the players in the dressing room tonight, they've totally let him down
