  1. Sturridge seems pretty articulate and interesting and doesn't need to do anything more than talk about the game. Richards has his ridiculous gimmicky laugh, Keane is ridiculously moody and controversial but Sturridge doesn't need a gimmick, he doesn't need to try too hard. Just stick to talking about the game ffs
  2. I interpret that as Klopp trying to send a message out that his squad is a bit short. Playing a forward in CM, dragging Salah off and replacing him with a few kids etc. Suggesting that (even) more money needs to be spent to improve the team. Losing Henderson, Fabinho and Milner in one summer has caused issues. Hopefully it'll unravel asap Echo what Rich said, there's nothing on display this afternoon that causes me too many sleepless nights. Liverpool look disjointed and unbalanced and Chelsea are still trying to work out who they are and how they want to play. They're both there for the taking. Likewise Spurs look inconsistent at best. 3rd or 4th has to be the target now, think City and Arsenal are clear, not sure about Man U yet but we're in the conversation

    Alexander Isak

He could easily get 30+ this season if he stays fit, he's that good. He's going to get the service this year and he's good enough to finish the chances
  4. Fabulous debut, slipped into the CM like hand in glove, utterly seamless. Engine is superb, always looking busy and getting involved, showed for the ball, tracked runners all afternoon, passing was crisp and tidy, can ping a diagonal and looked to get into the box for cut-backs too. All things considered he looked amazing and probably MotM imo. He and Barnes have just slotted in, they cost £90m between them but they already look like bargains. Ridiculous player who will improve even more as he gets to know the league a bit better* *sounds ridiculous as he looks like he's been playing in it for 5 years
  5. xG was 4.32 today and that's against one of the best teams from the last few months of last season. That's exceptional. Created at least 9 really good chances against a very, very good team. Bodes well
  6. Was apparently on the documents that founded the club or some such shit

    Harvey Barnes

The lad looks mustard. Mentally switched on, can finish himself but knows when to lay it off to ensure the chance is converted. He'll be involved in so many goals this season if he stays fit, already looks a snip at £38m. End product and decision making looks 'off the scale' good, goals and assists in full flow already
  8. Seriously impressed with us today, we looked a complete unit all over the park AND had genuine quality to bring off the bench. We could have had 9 on another day, Wilson, Isak, Tonali and Joelinton could all have notched on top of what we scored. Looked a little fragile and exposed on a few occasions but got away with it a little. Barnes will have an amazing season and looks like he's been here forever, Tonali slotted into the CM like a pro and coasted through the game making it look easy. Isak, Wilson, Gordon and Joelinton were also outstanding. Excellent opening day, off the mark, 5 goals scored and full of confidence. Brilliant start to the season

    Dogawful Officiating

Only negative of the day for me, this cunt. To pick up 3 yellows without a solitary bad tackle is infuriating and hopefully not a sign of things to come. 3 yellows for utter bullshit reasons - disputing a decision, a hand gesture and not running off quickly enough. All 3 things I've seen in other games already without any punishment whatsoever. If they're going to be consistent about all of those things then fair enough, seems we got hammered for what others have got away with and we're only 1 game in. It's fucking pigshit
  10. Arsenal game kick off delayed until 1pm. New ticketing system caused a backlog of circa 35k outside...
  11. City scoring after 3 minutes changes the complexion of most games tbh. They get to relax a little, pop it about safe in the knowledge that the opposition need to come out and can't just stay sat deep soaking it up. Burnley did ok for a while but they played against a City that were never out of second gear really. Don't think anyone learned anything that they didn't already know
  12. Enjoyed it for what it was but would have liked a bit more time taken to see how things unfolded, it felt very rushed and skimmed/omitted lots of important events since Oct '21. I know they can't show everything and need to summarise but it seemed to focus on the management more than the players (I know they said it would) but the balance wasn't right at all. It just felt like an elaborate PR exercise more than anything else really. Staveley went out of her way to reinforce the separation between the club, PIF and the Saudi state, they're absolutely playing by the FFP rules and definitely not financially doping and they definitely won't be bent over or held to ransom on paying for players. Some or all of this may indeed be true but it felt like a direct message to other clubs and the authorities about how we're playing the game. As I say, enjoyed it and will watch it all again a few times no doubt but I don't feel like the target audience, which, again, is fine. It's been produced for specific reasons and a certain audience
  13. Best thing about the Caicedo transfer saga is that the 2 shithouses play each other on Sunday. Expecting a bit of feist either way
  14. Are we that big fucking massive that we're going to actually need to spoiler comments in here from tomorrow?
  15. It's bang on mate, honestly. I take it you just need to be sensible when washing it? Low temp, inside out etc?
  16. Couldn't tell you about the kid's sizes, my lad is 14 so I got him a S from the men's range and it's a little big for him. Maybe measure a shirt that currently fits them well and just go with the measurements on the site?

Awful news Hope they tear themselves apart and go down again
  21. It's a tough ask I'll admit But it just seems so lazy to get a massive wedge of money and then just waste it on 3 such average, mediocre players to pad out a squad that's already average and mediocre. They've just made it bigger, not better. They could have bought an upgrade an CF, GK and maybe 1 other position maybe? Just feels like they've had £100m+ burning a hole in their pockets and felt the need to spend the lot before the month is out
  22. I just think losing Rice leaves a massive hole in the team and adding 3 adequate/reasonable players to the squad doesn't improve the first team at all. Fair enough they've bulked out the squad with mediocrity but they're way worse off without Rice imo, he was the heart of the club (cringy as fuck)
  23. West Ham spunking circa £115,000,000 on Maguire, McTominay and JWP would be simultaneously utterly abysmal and absolutely hilarious. Textbook definition of selling their crown jewel and replacing it with 3 from the Argos catalogue
