a lot of people (me included) said similar about solano
-
no forwards making runs to pass to,doing parkers work aswell as his own, duff and n'zogbia both playing shit outside him. for the type of player he is,left side midfield in a 4-3-3 would be ideal, though i'm still not 100% sure allardyce will play this.
-
what allardyce has said is that things get so far then fall,to me that reads like prices are close enough for the selling club to say you may approach the player, but the negotiation between the clubs doesn't progress.
-
this talk of trophy signings is s***,you get in the best players you can in the positions you need.i don't really believe managers say "ooooh player x is much better than player y but player y is a bigger name so i'll buy him" if we had a transfer kitty of £300mill and started spending wads would those players be trophy signings ?....................no,it would be a case of hopefully buying the best.

I wonder if that was the special train that left after ours. We were on the 5:20, and it took nigh on 2 hours for us to get back. Talk about slow! Standing room only, and the cops on the outside kept telling people they had to move up the train but there was no where to move to. Bloody idiots! They just wanted rid of the NUFC fans asap. liar...it was 5 mins late after leaving late too allow(in my opinion )too many on,then waiting at prudhoe (i think )after someone pulled the chord.the guard said they were taking longer at each station to allow people a chance to fight through the crowd and get off.left carlisle about 5-25 arrived newcastle bang on 6 Aye it was, because at Prudhoe they didn't open the doors to let us off who wanted to get off there and train started to pull away again so the bloke pulled the brake, i was stood next to him, as he wanted to get off n all. Train i got after to come back into town for a night out had people getting soaked with the fire extinguisher, people pissing in the sink and standing on the table and all sorts. On a seperate note first time ive sat in the home end at an away match and i won't be in a hurry to do that again. I must have been stood right next to you - I was right next to the bloke that pulled the cord as well. anyone else on the 1720 then,i was at the front end.

it was over policed because there had been bother in the city earlier on and there is always bother there when newcastle or sunderland go.

his problem is he's not really a wide player, not a central midfielder, not a forward. i fear this may be james milners undoing aswell

50 best transfers in english football according to the Times
madras replied to Geordie Boot Boy's topic in Football
Sid Cowans is an all time Villa legend, of the "bleeds claret and blue" variety. He's possibly the most cultured midfielder I've ever seen play for us. Oddly enough, in our 81 Championship year, he had a pretty bad season, never really got moving, but otherwise he was a fantastic passer of the ball, one of those cultured, classy players you love to watch. He runs our academy now, and is largely responsible for our recent output. Incidentally, he's from County Durham, and thus can be added to that massive list of players on your doorstep Newcastle missed over decades. Incidentally, our championship and EC winning team were criminally overlooked at international level. How the f*** Tony Morley only got 6 caps and Dennis Mortimer got none is beyond me. in those 6 games morley done very little and mortimer was up against bryan robson (i think) -
This. People didn't simply turn on him because of that, Dyer had a lot of detractors way before the Robson incident. The reason being that his performances never matched the hype. Dyer strolled his way through long parts of seasons living off his “promising youngster” reputation and the imaginary transfer to Leeds. His lifestyle and personal choices don’t exactly make him appealing to most supporters. He alone sums up our failures as a club in the past 10 years. A serial injury prone underachiever who is on ridiculously high wages, yet produces virtually no end product. Someone loves the celebrity lifestyle and took advantage of those who helped him get to where he was. Despite all the money and the all the potential he and we as a club have done nothing since he joined. the wages aren't down to him,may produce a better end product with decent forwards(like he did with shearer and bellamy),celebrity lifestyle--what the hell does that mean ? a young bloke with cash goes out(can't remember seeing him smashed before a game and when i've seen him in town he's less bother than certain others in our recent past), and who did he take advantage of. i don't care if he goes,at the minute he wouldn't be in my first team but the sniping pisses me off cos when he goes the attention will turn elsewhere

can you blame him the way quite a lot of our "fans" go on about him. and your paragraph could easily have been written about nicky butt this time last year This isn't based on one season alone. well he hasn't been shit his entire time here, infact you could say our good times co-incided with his good times, read into that what you want

ah yes....newcastle syndome
-
it's catching. aye there's a hefty "find" but i don't think the coppers gave a fuck, more bothered about the different groups scrapping, then again,it were the transport police, you know, the ones who can only be trusted to be armed with a water psitol and a squeaky hammer
-
you know man, used to be called the communication chord, pull it and it slams the brakes on
-
and then loads of bother in carlisle and a train back nearly an hour late due to nufc fans pulling the emrgency passanger braske thing and fighting amongst themselves, even with coppers on the train. embarrassing sometimes.

Initial talks don't get past that very stage for whatever reason? -- From the Journal, mostly same comments but the feeling that if something doesn't happen in a few days he'll turn to Europe from necessity. He said: ?Unfortunately everything this week has progressed to a certain level and has then fallen on stony ground. ?We?ve not been able to bring anyone in for a medical and it?s been an incredibly frustrating two weeks in terms of bringing players in. ?There are few defenders with Premiership experience around and that?s our main priority at the moment. I like going into the foreign market but having too many new players from abroad could cause us severe problems in the early part of the season. ?They take a little bit of time getting used to the Premiership and having too many of them together at the same time would not be the done thing. ?If that?s the only option, I?ll have to take it sooner rather than later, but we are trying to bring players in with Premiership experience and we are having to wait to get the right one.? I find this foreign def thing a bit of a myth. If they are good enough they can play anywhere as long as they are physically not at a disadvantage. aye, that's being foreign. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
