  1. yeah, should have made it clear I didn't mean play wise, more so the unheralded arrival etc and the way he's won people over.
  2. reminds me a little of sibierski. brought in cheap when many are wanting cash spent, nobody can see where he's going to get a game but wins everyone over, proper cult hero. edit......keeps up this form could be a shock world cup call up ? that adaptability and work rate that he wasn't known for coulds be great for a squad.

    Alan Pardew

The flat 4-4-2 with Shola was fine in the first half, we created plenty of chances. Had some bad moments defensively mind. The problem in the second half wasn't the formation, it was that we stopped pressing, sat deep and invited pressure. I don't hate Pardew but I get totally p*ssed off when we get a lead and do this. Its ridiculous, has cost us points and we show no signs of changing it. was it a decision to do that today though, gouffran can't keep up the pressure for 90, cabaye's substitution was more fatigue than tactical and sissoko had been away aswell. do you think the plan is to sit so deep after taking a lead ? seemed like we ran out of legs more than anything tactical. Lost count of how many times I've read this post in the last three years. majority of the time you'd probably have had a point, not sure about today though. Even though the manager has admitted it afterwards? "We went out to protect it after half time. I put them in the wrong mode with the wrong words" That is how we play under Pardew. Always has been, always will be. plan due to the lack of legs perhaps, cabaye and gouffran looked shagged second half and remy not far behind. tactics dictated by circumstances maybe ?

    Hatem Ben Arfa

That didn't happen. that down in the leazes/west stand corner ? sissoko was right if thats the occasion you're thinking of, he kept away leaving ben arfa one on one which was what we should want for him, ben arfa seemed to want sissoko to come in and drag in another defender with him. there was an occasion in the middle when ben arfa was left to it and we did stand still, cant remember sissoko pointing on that occasion though.

As I've said before, if they do stay up, it'll be an incredible turnaround (when you look at those stats) They've nee chance though sounds hard when you put it that way, not so hard when you say they are 3 points from "safety".

  10. spookily enough my mate, a norwich fan is travelling up on the train aswell, he has dark hair, 6ft 6 and about 18st and is wearing a norwich top, if you see him tell him he's a twat and his mam sucks cock for baccy, he'll love the bants.
  11. quite simple really, san lorenzo come up with a suitable fee knowing we wont want his full market worth with his age and desire to leave, or he can do what he wants but we retain his registration.
  12. what made me feel old was the amount of grounds I've been to that wont ever be visited again...................by anyone!

  15. If you can find it John Gibsons "The Newcastle United FC story" is a must for Newcastle fans. Mainly a game by game from the fairs cup run with other chapters on the Tyne Wear derbies , Players etc. I wouldn't pay more than a fiver for it but a good rwad about that era.
  16. tempted but worried it'll be like freakonomics, review needed, ie buy it then tell me.
  17. http://www.footballgroundmap.com/madras didn't put in the local non leaguers, or deepdale for some reason and that was my first away game!
  18. graham wallace ex finance fella at man city has been appointed to "stabalise" things at rangers. bearing in mind wallace joined man city after the abu dhabi takeover, I'd imagine him to sit at his desk on his first morning, pick up the phone and say to his secretary "get the owners please andf tell them to give us 1 billion pounds"
  19. so then, which generlised load of BS will be more prevelent on here over the next few months............our frenchies are.......... ....playing crap because they don't want to get injured and miss the world cup ? or .... only playing well so they get picked for the world cup ?
  20. and since when did they bercome your lads ? (ladies and gentlemen, that is probably the quintessential madras line)
  21. Not getting always for cheap. He was going to Hull for ~£6m last summer until talks collapsed very late into the window. did talks collapse ? I thought it didn't go through because their deal for another year of lukaku went goodison-way and they didn't want to be left short.
  22. Every journey begins with one step even for paraplegics ?
  23. I thought the joke was that they were quite kooky looking pictures, not that they were black.
  24. a little while ago someone posted a pic of two players probably from the 1930's, i posted in repley to it that it was Incognito and mick, that wasn't seen as racist, if one of them was black and I posted that it was Mike, by the standards of this thread it would've been seen as racist.
