  1. Yes malandro is entitled to form and express his own opinions of course, but with his kind of approach it begs the question, how much time/patience will Hughton get from the faithful next season should things not get off to the best of starts? We've been crying out a long time for a young ambitious manager who we could give time to build a squad here, and I think Hughton deserves a real go of things the way he has handled himself, Ashley and the players this season. If people with malandro's opinion on Hughton outnumber those who support him, it would worry me more than Hughton's credentials as a PL manager. what makes you think hughton is young and ambitious, or has the ability to build a squad worthy of the club? just interested what makes you think he isn't ? He’s 51 and it took him sixteen years to get his first managerial post? i was thinking more on the ability lines myself, he's done well this season even if it took him a while to dump smith/butt and brought in players for the positions needed.
  2. Definitely. I mean come on, let's not be needlessly pessimistic and modest, it's a case of when rather than if we get promoted, and to do it at home, on the TV, would be great. the only downside, as i've posted earlier is not really having long to celebrate after the game on monday. it could turn out that forest promote us while we are still in the pub.
  3. no 15point lead with 15ponts to play for.
  4. Does that mean Ashley's cost cutting measures were unnecessary and the wage bill didn't need to be reduced then? We would have been in a decent position had we stayed up last season because we would still be removing the likes of Owen, Viduka, Geremi and Cacapa from the wage bill. We were in a very poor financial situation under Allardyce and going down then would have been a much bigger disaster. i thought my april fool would get more bites.
  5. deffo taking us this weekend but undecided as to an accy or biggish single.

this could be fun............i'm going to take a ball in and throw it at peoples heads. they'll not duck.
  7. it's better than not having any coverage and to be honest if its a god game i tend not to hear what the commentatrors are saying.
  8. so valencia let me down. straight back on the bike......... millwall/norwich for tomorrow.
  9. Thought Betfair used to let you back/lay multiples? Can't see them these days.. you've got it on express view. click 'full view' My bad, had clicked on 3 x single bets instead of multiple. Presumably they're not in-play, so I can only lay off on each individual match market? yip. obviously not though if they've already kicked off. Aye, but you use in-play markets to lay off your stake on the multiples? aye but under certain circumstances. you'd lose loads laying off if all youre teams were losing as you'd have to lay off each game. when i doit is for example in a treble if 2 teams are winning well (or won if its consisting of a later kick off) then lay the third if drawing at a decent price or winning narrowly.

  12. You have to be winding me up. Don't you ? Having seen Viduka's "goal" at the match and many times since, Webb's decision was so ludicrous it can't have been anything other than pre-meditated. Mr webb is very popular in polska aswell if you youtube his name.
  13. Me too and quite a few others. No way were there 7,000 empty seats. I was gobsmacked when I found out there was apparently only 45k there. It looked on a par with the Boro game. cue stories that if the attendance is quoted at that level then the money from the others can be deposited in someones back pocket.

  15. Not really Davey as some players say they placed there shots when they scored Shola said himself said it was a hit & hope. the vast majority of goals are hit and hope and opposed to pure placement.
  16. i've got to agree that the kinnear appointment was ridiculous and was the biggest mistake ashley made (go check, i've stated it often enough myself) and yes, in my opinion it directly lead to our relegation. however in the past i've often stated that, again in my opinion, we'd have went that way under allardyce and in a worse financial position...............humble pie time...last night i was in the pub with a friend i haven't seen in yonks, works in london in the financial sector and he basically explained how we werent in as bad a financial position as i was lead to believe and had we stopped up we may (cant bring myself to say 'would') have been in a decent position to kick on. its much easire to see the financial position when you have someone to explain it expertly and clearly.
  17. just cant see arsenal winning.
  18. can we blame ashley for kinnears heart ? If no then we cant say its exceptional. Manager leaves...caretaker...ne manager. Even fred done that.
  19. The key difference between Taylor and Williamson is strength. Williamson is much stronger and doesn't seem to lose balance and fall over like Taylor tends to. That plus the added height is a huge plus. Williamson just has more presence and authority about him. taylor is better on the ball imo but i'd trust williamson more to do the rightthing when on the ball ie braying it behind the oppo full back when need be. it may well be horses for courses and out of taylor/williamson/colo choosing who would do best against certain opposition.
  20. I always said Kieron Dyer was his illegitimate son. It is the only way it makes sense that 1. he ever listened to him about anything 2. always played him no matter what and 3. always forgave him no matter how badly he screwed up. Dyer was born in Ipswich ~9 months after SBR won the UEFA cup with them. Coincidence - I think not. d'you remember that robson documentary ? theres a bit in it when hes talking to the interviewer and all the players are having lunch, going on about the difference now with players, tells a story about a player who wanted to turn the caoch round as he'd forgot his diamond ear stud.....he was glaring with disgust towards where/whom i wonder ?
  21. the newcastle way is to give peterboro a hiding while forest geta point off bristol city, then after forest get a point in there monday game (being careful about fixture reproduction here) we get beat off sheffield united and make everyone wait till the saturday after.

    Sunderland...

inferiority is drilled into them from the day they are born, they can fight it all thier lives. they can twist and make up things on the internet. But they can't escape the truth that they are a smaller club,-and it eats at them every single day. t-shirt worthy.
  23. his distribution will keep the better teams away.
