i wouldn't even say 2 attacking central midfielders but 2 who'll get forward and defend a bit and will hopefully mix it up to make it difficuilt to mark them. I'd considr Nolan an AM if he's a box to box midfielder then he needs to learn how to run for more than 30 yards without needing a defibrilator. what i mean is he wont do all the attacking as he can cover when guthrie goes forward.

more a case of, with loven and ameobi on the bench we don't need a third forward

i would give my all but i wouldn't pick me. Pretty depressing that a player giving his best is actually seen as an outstanding attribute tbh. that sentiment reminds me of paul sweeney.
-
he hasn't stepped up. he's stepped in front of the centre halves and made us very easy to predict and mark, created nothing and puts in thundering tackles when other midfielders wouldn't have needed to.

i haven't turned.

not just you.

stuck to my guns and have £20 on us on the strength of no butt or smith. as usual should we score first and odds drop enough i'll look to get out.

Tonight is a big night in regards to Hughton for me. He's seen us destroy a team with the system on sat, he should try a similar system tonight to see if it works away, if he doesn't I think it means he's not learning enough and he needs to learn fast if he's going to be here next season. "never change a winning team" is stupid anyway. put out what you consider the team most capable of winning the match is what you have to do.

Sorry mate, but if Gazza wasn't a "world class player" then I'm still waiting to see one. he was world class but,in my opinion could have gone on to the zidane/ronaldo/figo class

Well, it's a pre-season tournament, so I'm assuming they'll play the best they can, but it's still only friendlies. League over here starts in just over a month fwiw, so that's where the Swedish teams should be at fitness wise. cheers. just checked the little groupings they are in and neither they nor eflsborg can qualify so i think it may be a case of getting the squad used......i'll not be bothering. i've took fulham for tonight and as stated earlier i'll await our team news before deciding on that.

heads up towelie and kai the zero.....how seriously do teams take the copa del sol ? do they play full strengthish teams or what ? looking at rosenborg for tonight.

a lad i know from work had 5-1 on friday. always has a daft bet on something over 66/1, was going for 5-0 but didn't think we'd keep a clean sheet with all the changes. got 100/1 and didn't cash it as he wanted to prove to those at work so kept the slip, i've seen it.

You absolute f***ing pillock. Have you ever been involved with someone who has mental health problems? Do you have ANY idea of people who have mental health problems go through? Obviously not from your immature replies. I'm sure some of his actions are self inflicted, but he's surrounded by people or attracts people who only seem too happy to help him on his way to oblivion. I've bumped into him a couple of times, on both good and bad days, so I've seen both sides to him. He's a great bloke, but he needs serious long term help if he's going to get through the next 10 years or so. I'm interested in your views on how people with serious mental health problems should be treated, especially when they live their lives being chased around by the media. Just a note to other people - if you read his book, you'll see that the mental health problems came way before the alcoholism the problem is there are many people like this and because they are average joes and we just say he's a w***** who needs to sort himself out. because gascoigne is a former nufc player and a bit of a lad we are supposed to make extra allowances. But as i said above, that parallel doesn't work - your average joe has had nowhere near the same amount of pressure on him from a young age. Gazza is very much a special case. Yeah, we'd all love to be footballers, but that doesn't mean being someone with Gazza's profile and intellect is easy peasy. We've not been in his situation and tried to live his life so it's incredibly difficult to pass judgment. But I can't begin to comprehend what living with the kind of intrusion he's had to live with since his teens would do to my mental health. Every single mistake under the microscope and every single movement watched. I think anyone with any sociology / psychology experience will tell you it's pretty much proven that this will f*** with a normal person's head, let alone someone of Gazza's disposition. Also, with regards your average joe, if people are just calling someone 'normal' a w***** who needs to sort his life out and offering no help, then they're pretty rubbish too. I know if I had a close friend who fell into that sort of lifestyle i'd fight every step of the way to help them through it. theres also the possibility that he would have turned out like this anyway as lots with similar backgrounds have without the media intrusion etc. what i was pointing out is that there are many people like that who don't get the sympathy or chances that gascoigne gets.

The "Pro-life" crowd don't have much pull in the UK, probably because we don't tend to have many God squad nutters compared to places like the USA. The media probably wouldn't give them the coverage of their opinion. Yay, more stereotyping! hows it stereotyping ? you know he doesn't mean your average christian with pro-life views but the very vocal, active and beligerent type which even you would recognise.

Giving Derby more credit than they deserve. Derby don't even have a player that exceeds the calibre of Alan Smith. i'd take savage any and everyday over alan smith. Both equally as s*** as each other, but Smith can run a little bit longer. you are the twat who keeps tripping me up with the white stick aren't you ?

Metro Radio started off going to the games 5 times as that was the limit and then they started doing the full second half before doing the full match. The Pink was about as good as you could get before that. Supporters are spoiled rotten these days. i rememeber all that. the fish thing was stopped as it could be seen as a bribe (FA eh ?) and mick i sat next to the ducted air heating every other staurday as a child listening to the away game reports, as you say,no full match commentary back then. well for me, no choice, born and raised in the area to a newcastle supporting family. i know people in the same position who support man utd and ;liverpool and i honestly see it as a psychological flaw. first game in the '74 cup run (scunthorpe), then regular from the 74-75 season, first game being coventry at home, opening game of the season at which, at the age of 7 i got lost on the way back from the bogs and couldn't find my dad. always nice to hear from outsiders about "why newcastle", a bit like myself and pittsburgh (all teams).

in fact if smith plays the draw at 5/2 could be a decent shout.
-
if we line up without smith or butt tomorrow i'll be backing us hiopefully at evens or better. if either of them plasy i'll be leaving well alone.
-
he will play smith tomorrow instead of guthrie,we will struggle.
