  1. sod that. the defence was massivly helped out by us not having a midfielder sit 5 yds infront of them and that was forced on him by injuries.

    Trouble at the match

more likely hoping cardiff fans wouldn't stop the whole weekend as many had planned a friday arrival when the fixtures came out.....so hopefully they go home on the saturday......also have you seen where leeds are on saturday ?.....hartlepool....could you imagine scith corner with those lot together or tht east coast main line trains. i alreadty understand one train was stopped every stop from birmingham for police assistance cos of taffs.
  3. tidy tonight. everything thast came to him stuck, no 6ft first touches. poor fucker though, 3-0 up in 17mins or so....do i pile forward or drop in ?

    Trouble at the match

stowell street sealed off after the match and my pre match pub (well awasy but still city centre and stowed oiff with taffs pre game) was having bother post game, not kicking off for fights but being stroppy and beligerent with the staff. when cops were called it was welsh police that came in.
  5. He was better with Guthrie alongside him. Still not excellent but better. this. simple movement from the middle, no midfielder standing 10yds in front of the centre halves all game. they played off each other which made it so much harder to mark anyone else. niot great, i'm still not sure of any of our central midfielders but at least tonight they played as central midfielders as opposed to slightly advanced extra centre half and lolloping trying to get alongside forwardser.
  6. vuckic started making his way towards the squad and has been injured since. In the couple of games he played our midfield got pretty much over run IIRC. Don't know if that was him or other younger midfielders like Guthrie and Lua Lua. Having a bunch of kids in defence probably didn't help either tbf. only started one first team game hasn't he.....posh in the league cup in a stiffs side. I think he started one and came on as a sub in another. My impression of him was that he looked great going forward, not so good tracking back. thats why he's not really a central midfielder. more of a play off a centre forward in the hole type.

  10. if we can find a picture, we can play him left midfield. he had one when he first signed for us.......can't put him at left midfield though. stewie robinson had a perm and played left mid but it's unlikely we'll get a pic.
  11. hate to say it but,at 7/2 cardiff are a good price for tonight.
  12. rotherham/forest/barce/anderlecht. schalke/PSV/mansfield.
  13. i'd be more tempted to go with kadar or even simpson in the middle.
  14. What makes you think Colo won't make it? rumours he's been carrying a knock for at least a week or two.
  15. Yeah, but that's also true of a pot plant. even just the pot. To be fair, I'd put Guthrie and Smith in ahead of the pot, and the other two behind. the pot will try to get forward more than smith and if it doesn't get injure it'll still be there after 60mins so it could well be more effective than guthrie.

  17. hughton's line up will be..... harper simpson if fit colo williamson van the man (r taylor if not) routledge smith nolan jonas (if fit) guthrie if not. carroll loven
  18. i'd put him in tonight instead of smith/nolan/butt or guthrie in the middle.

    Wasted Talent

the first 2 aren't wasted talents as much as being overhyped.

    Wasted Talent

Who and why? stan bowles, tony currie and alan hudson were maverick style flair players, you could also throw jimmy smith and rodney marsh in there as players who had bucketfulls of talent but never had any consistency. peter kelly was a young full back who was very good then got an, if i remember correctly, cruciate injury which at the time was career threatening, after months out came back, had a couple of games and damaged it again. he only played about 30 games for us but seemed a worthy successor to kennedy/nattrass in the full back roles. tony green had a mention ?...........if not it's a thread shutter.
  21. perm signing for the middle of midfield.....................has to be john trewick.
  22. working on this process i think i will be the pompey owner between march 18th-21st 2013.
