  1. Why is he holding up a pair of boots and a quilt?
  2. No he hasn't but if you think we are going to sign players of this ability every week you are living in cloud cuckoo land. IIRC it was you who was in tears when Keggy Keegan walked out. Ironically he left because he wasn't going to be able to sign players like Ben Arfa who make a season ticket worth paying for. Doesn't really make some of the reactions on here any less cringeworthy. I'm not too fussed what anyone else thinks tbh, but I was really looking forward to watching us this season because of this signing so I'm well pissed off. It's not like we've got a glut of talented players with killer end product who can win matches. Still I suppose we can enjoy Jonas dribbling round 3 players and then passing the ball to the opposition goalie. Or there's Routledge who can run...stop...then hit the defender in the balls with a feeble cross. While Nolan and Barton stand watching with a fag and a mars bar. Everyone is pissed off but the club is bigger than one player. Our season certainly isn't anywhere near over,

  4. It didn't look too bad, a tweek rather than a tear. With the international break I imagine he'll be back or very close to fitness for Wigan.
  5. No time scale but it's a groin injury. Apparently he's all shagged out.
  6. Luque went into his shell because Roeder hated him and he wasn't very good in the first place.
  7. You know the lad has talent when he's tackling Shola to get the ball.
  8. Plus it made him look fucking nails.
  9. I don't think she knows much to be fair. She's a blogger from America and was a right bitter bitch when we were trying to sign him. It's too early to talk about return dates, it didn't look like a compound fracture though so fingers crossed. EDIT: Ah, it was from RMC. Feburary 2011 is earlier than I expected.
  10. We probably could send him back but I wouldn't worry, I don't think we will. I mean we didn't send Nacho back and he was out all year. There's a fair chance we'll see Ben Arfa again this season providing his ligaments aren't fucked too.
  11. Whatever you feel about De Jong and the tackle it was just an example of a wider problem in the Premier League - holding midfielders that can't tackle. Ever since that particular position became essential for every top flight team we've had an influx of players who think sliding in on your arse and getting a toe on the ball is fine, regardless of what you do to the man. Just look at Henry, Cattermole, Smith etc. There's very little skill involved in being a good tackler nowadays. It's sad to see any player get such a serious injury but obviously it really sticks in your throat when it's one of your own. One of your best. I just hope we stick by him while he recovers because at best he'll be back before the end of the season and help us in the last four or five games, at worst he'll feel wanted and we can push through a deal in the summer. The break looked bad but his leg wasn't flopping around, the bones seemed to line back up which should help along any recovery.

  13. I wonder how many signatures he'll get in Newcastle city centre on derby day? Daft twat

  15. Deserved. Gomez was lucky he didn't have a foot planted or that would've been horrible.
  16. I'd rather cut a bollock off with a rusty razor blade than swap Nolan for Jonas. I love Gutierrez but in no way is he capable of performing that off the shoulder role that Chunk is. First of all for all his sins Nolan seems capable of reading a game, getting into space and doing something with the ball when we're seeing enough of it whereas Jonas either punts it into row L, punts it into row R or punts it into row Y. If anyone is going to replace Nolan it'll be HBA, Jonas will go back on the left and we can watch him and Enrique bum rape full backs once again. Happy days.
  17. They've earned the right by beating Chelsea. It's only fair. Plus the Sunderland match is only days later.
  18. Why? Because Williamson is a penalty waiting to happen most of the time, Sol gives us more from a leadership point of view. Thought Sol and Colo together last night, looked pretty good. Williamson has been a steady eddy so far, but just think he's gonna get called for the holding he does constantly at some point. He reminds me a bit of Bassong who did very well for us but was always a little borderline. If he stay of the right side of the line he looks good but wouldn't take much to push him over. Agree with comments about Williamson - made the same point after the Everton game because he DOES hold players in the pen area and soon refs are going to be telling linesmen to watch for it - they will also be looking out for it too and we WILL concede pens that way. Might be wrong but can't see Hughton leaving out a 6 foot 4 inch CB for this one. He'll not drop Williamson, who has been impressive so far, for a not fully match fit Campbell on the basis of something which may happen, thank God.
  19. Ramage - Correct, I thought he was shite. Viana - Wrong, I thought he'd be world class. Routledge - Wrong, I thought he'd do nothing even in the Championship. Chopra - Wrong, see Viana.
  20. To be fair to Cacapa didn't he pretty much sever his hamstring in the first minute? Cannot remember to be honest mate, I just remember thinking "we can win this game" after 8 minutes, and then "what the f*** has just happened?" 3 minutes later I thought the same. I'm sure a day or two after the game Fat Sam said he injured himself in the warm up/very early on but he wanted to play so he fucking let him

  22. Play the kids/reserves. They've done well for us so far, lets keep the faith in them.
  23. Blackpool was always going to be tough considering their relatively decent start, Gilks deciding to do his best Clark Kent impression and one of their coaches having a fucking huge stroke.
