  1. I think he's looking to be happy rather than simply play at the highest level possible.
  2. Have the stewards calmed down now too? I couldn't get to the game on Saturday but i'm going on Wednesday and I don't fancy getting into a pagger with some thick skulled nonce who doesn't like me standing, singing or swearing.
  3. Campbell could be a Kilcline type signing. Absolutely no reason not to bring him in for a year or two.
  4. I was right about Jose when all and sundry were slagging him off, i'll be right on this too. Mark my words.
  5. Fuck off Rain Man. I'm not reading that all that shite
  6. How is it simplistic? Jonas is a winger who can't do anything meaningful with the ball, something which is kind of a prerequisite for that type of player. His movement may have been good but i'd expect that from any footballer of a certain standard. I'm just not convinced by him. He can run himself into the ground but that's no good if he can't provide the balls. Geremi may seem a daft choice but both him and Milner dominated at the Ricoh Arena when we played Coventry. Pace isn't everything in this league but being able to put a decent ball into the box means so much more.
  7. What argument is that? A Reading player or two was out of puff chasing him? Fan-fucking-tastic. Did he actually produce anything meaningful with regards to the two goals from open play? Did he balls. Those goals were cultivated by the players who actually have a footballing brain between their lugs. Basically he got a shot or two on target and he's getting a celebratory blowjob. That's not enough. He's been piss poor post-Man United away last season save for the occasional game he turned up (Villa at home). If he goes we'll be well rid of him.
  8. There shouldn't be any debate over this really because Jonas is fucking woeful. He's not a footballer, he's an athlete. Why do people confuse pace with skill? He's not good enough, he can't do half of what a footballer should be able to. I have never seen a winger as inept when it comes to supplying decent crosses, I genuinely haven't. You might as well put Tyson Gay in a Newcastle strip because he'd do much the same job as Gutierrez.
  9. He can cross, Jonas can barely kick a ball. There is no debate.
  10. But what good is pace when every time you get the ball you stop and pull it back to someone who has a footballing brain? If he goes he'll not be a loss. If you can't see what Jonas brings to the team then you're fucking blind. Who'd you play there instead of him, then? Geremi. His legs have gone but he can cross a ball which would be much more desirable considering the two lads we have up front. I was one of the biggest JG fan boys going after his first few matches but the novelty has worn off. He has pace but much like Martins he does fuck all with it. He can't cross, pass, shoot, stay on his feet in a strong breeze etc. The last time I saw someone with so little control over his limbs he was wearing fucking calipers.

  12. I've been saying for ages he's our best player. Looks like I was right. Again. I'm making a habit of this.
  13. Seems pretty obvious to me what's going to happen now. Ashley will keep the club and he'll put his mate Moat in charge of the day to day running of it. It'll curry favour with the fans allowing him to keep hold of it and get much more cash if we get promoted. I may be wrong, but IMO there is no way Ashley is going to sell up if we're playing well. In less than twelve months time he could have a Premiership club again and ask a Premiership price for it.
  14. There are better options. O'Leary would smack of bringing in another pal of Ashley's.
  15. To be fair we wouldn't be here discussing this if your 'considered, consistant opinion' that Harper has had no more than five bad games for us in his whole career wasn't a complete crock of s***. Krul had a very good game and Harper has been below par for some time. That's all i'm trying to say. I've no idea why you've decidd to take issue with it and act a bit of a tart. What constitutes as below par? He looked a tad dodgy in his first couple of games last season but improved quickly after that for me. One of the few players to escape with some credibility last season He was always teetering on the brink for me last year. He never looked comfortable, he never looked confident and that translated into some of his performances. As I said it wasn't just last season but when Given went through his run of injuries he was never the same player that lined up in the CL. We all know what he was capable of from his stints years previously but now he's a shell of his former self. He's below par. I've no idea what's happend. Has he lost it or is he just lacking in confidence? Has the fact he's number one got to him?

  17. Okay, not only are you completely unable to use the quote function you're missing the point by a country mile Up your game, sonna.
  18. The point would be valid if Harper now was anywhere near the quality of Given Nice try though.
  19. Raylor's deliverys today were awesome, that free kick was only inches over like. Dunno about that. Apart from the free kick that sailed just wide the rest went straight into the hands of Carson.
  20. To be fair no one is saying that, after all young goalkeepers are notoriously inconsistant. The point i'm trying to hammer home is not only that Krul did very little wrong and therefore doesn't deserve any stick he is getting on here by the Ron Manager's sitting behind their computer screens, but Harper is far from the "Ingurlundz numba one!!11!!111" he used to be. In fact he's went right off the other end. now you're just talking rubbish. I said Harper was a 'decent' keeper and Krul looks good but has a very, very blatant weakness. You said Harper hadn't had 5 bad games for us. Now that's talking rubbish.

  22. Pretty much every game he played at the back end of last season? Absolute garbage Once again you're talking bollocks. Harper has been a shadow of his former self since Given left. He used to be a very good 'keeper but he started to look out of sorts around the time Given got that stomach injury. I can remember him having a nightmare or two then. Okay, it wasn't as noticable as he always looked good in the areas Given was lacking in and he always went back to the bench but now he's first choice his limitations are glaring.
  23. Yes. I heard very, very good things from Southampton fans when we signed him so I expect him to do a lot in the Championship.
