  1. I've just seen the outburst from the official account. I'd love to get my hands on the club's communication strategy and have a gander because as a public relations practitioner it is absolutely fucking baffling Fan engagement is absolutely nil until someone we're not too keen on says something then they fly off the handle and start issuing statements. It's mental man, however I'd guess the poor sod on our Twitter account has had instructions from the office of one D.Llambias rather than Wendy Taylor or anyone else in media relations.
  2. He's a good lad Steve, but he's a bit of a drama queen. He does like to post stuff like this every now and again. Aye, four-four-fucking-two. http://matchchat.files.wordpress.com/2012/02/mike.jpg
  3. Wallsend has a division of the EDL ? Yep. A load of them got arrested a few months ago for trying to smash up the Irish Centre when the SWP were holding a meeting. Bright, lovely lads.
  4. The only time I've experienced any dodgy behaviour from our lot was Peterborough away in the Championship season. Ended up in a shit bar with the fucking Wallsend division of the EDL. I left after the third or fourth chorus of "Allah is a paedo".
  5. He looked evil, even as a fucking child.
  6. I've went from Shola cynic to someone who adores the bloke. He's not the most naturally talented footballer, but as a professional both on and off the pitch he has to be applauded. Nolan, Smith etc. get a lot of the credit for the spirit around the club during the promotion season and people forget Shola was an important part of that group. As many have pointed out he played through a very serious hip injury, one which almost ended his career by all accounts, for the benefit of the club. Furthermore he has worked really hard to reinvent his playing style over the past few years because of his injuries. Earlier in his career he was a gangly bloke who, on the rare occasions he broke into a sprint, had a bit of pace. Now he's a unit who is capable of holding up the ball in a way I haven't seen since Shearer was playing for us. That's some transformation and can only come about through hard work in the gym and on the training ground. I don't get the Shola hate now. He's should be a cult hero who'll be remembered not for his goal scoring record but for his dedication to the club. And his penalty taking ability which is the best I've seen by a Newcastle player. And his goals against Sunderland.
  7. I think it'll go to 0 points. I've no information to suggest this will be the case, but if we get 5/6k tickets as Birmingham did ST holders should be fine.
  8. http://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/pardew-hits-out-at-agents-1-4890649 So these agents just randomly ring a player up and say they can get them a bigger deal elsewhere..but if a rival football club does this its classed as "tapping up" ? Is there no guild lines or rules against this, just seems mental...these agents are answerable to no one. That's what it sounds like however it's not that surprising. About a week after we signed Tiote an African bloke turned up at Jesmond Dene House where he'd been staying, claimed he was his agent and demanded money from the staff
  9. The moment of the game came just before half time in the Strawberry Corner, when the pissed bloke who had spent the entire day trying to get into other people's seats descended the stairs on his chest. No idea why he decided it was a better option than walking, but he did. It's long been an irritation of mine. It's nice we give kids the chance to be ball boys, but they're useless at getting the ball back. We need to get some older kids in, old enough to understand when to get the ball back in play quickly and when to slow the game down. Other clubs do it, so should we.

  11. After the match yesterday he said that some of the poor performances might be down to agents, many of whom are not representing our players, trying to turn their heads by claiming they can get them on mega money elsewhere. It seemed to be more of a pop at agents than our players.
  12. Eh? Are we thinking of the same game? We were bloody great at Swansea last season. I didn't watch the Sunderland game so I've no idea how they played but most complaints seemed to focus on the fact Swansea had much more of the ball. We didn't win the possession game when we played them last season either.
  13. Just booked up. £210 for travel and accommodation. Newcastle to Kings Cross on Wednesday 7 November, then the Eurostar to Brussels and a one hour train journey to Bruges. Two nights in a hotel in the city centre then back on Friday afternoon.
  14. I can't imagine we looked much better at Swansea last season, other than the fact we didn't concede.
  15. Krul Simpson - Colo - Saylor - Santon Anita - Cabaye - Jonas HBA - Cisse - Ba You can guarantee we'll start 442 though.
  16. He has just been released on a free. As he said, £8m for Ryan Babel.

  18. Yep. Not entirely convinced he isn't going to Lo Down Llambias through the boardroom table tonight.
  19. Fucking hell, I've just noticed the Euro number article
  20. Sky mentioned it earlier today but local journalists say it's old news and that they're no longer interested.
