  1. They've done well. Fair play.
  2. The extra day's rest should see us put out a relatively strong team: Krul Simpson - Perch - Saylor - Raylor Jonas - Anita - Bigi - Marv Vuckic - Ba
  3. Pretty fucking disgraceful we've had since Simpson rejected his new deal to accomplish the relatively simple task of finding and signing a superior full back and made absolutely nee fucking progress.
  4. Carroll is the only deal I can see us possibly doing and that will depend entirely on whether Liverpool blink or not. Providing there are no outgoings it won't have been a truly terrible transfer window but it does have a faint wiff of summer 2003 about it.
  5. You're going to feel like a right twat if we lose tomorrow.
  6. Unlikely to happen but surely the FA can fine them for not having a surface fit to play on, especially as it's been caused by the fact they didn't lay the turf until the last minute so they could cash in on concerts? I'm a few miles away from the SoL and it hasn't rained for over an our now. Drying up quite nicely.
  7. Why ? Cabaye dripping wet wasted time trying to find a pic of a wet cabaye.
  8. Yep... And hopefully just enough to ensure our board feel the need to respond in a positive manner before this window shuts... Since when did Llambias give a shit what Sunderland do? Johnson is a good player and he'll certainly improve them but some of the hype is ridiculous. He was practically a reserve at Man City (they're replacing him with Scott Sinclair for fucks sake ) and he struggles to get a game in a pretty weak England side. From what I've seen he's another semi-decent English player who is built up to daft levels by press because he could be the next great, white hope. Henderson got similar treatment when he moved to Liverpool.
  9. Very decent on his day but very inconsistent. I think City will have got the best out of the deal if they manage to secure Sinclair for similar/less cash. I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen him have an absolute stormer at either club or international level. He'll certainly improve their first XI but he's not going to ever be the signing of the century unless Artie can make him a bit more consistent. I wouldn't want him, but then that's more to do with the fact I don't know where he'd fit into our side. We'd basically be spending £10 million on Obertan's replacement because I can't see him getting onto the pitch for us when everyone is near full fitness. He'd be perfect in a 4-3-3 if we take Ba out of the equation, who's best position is till CF. But why the f*** would we want to take Ba out of the equation? I am with you here, people keep talking about playing 433 and dropping Ba, I just don't get it??? Ba has been fantastic for us and does not deserve to be dropped at all. Absolutely baffling I could understand if he didn't play well on the left but he does. Even when he wasn't scoring at the arse end of last season he was grafting his bollocks off. I was staggered so many were so blasé about his release clause this summer too. He's a brilliant player.

  12. Niall Quinn was spat on by Sunderland fans. He wrote about it in his autobiography. Funnily enough that particular incident has been consigned to the SMB memory hole. Aye, the only spitting incident they ever remember is the one with Bobby Robson back in 1982. When 52000 Jawdees did it And the 7 million on the waiting list.

  14. One of the two he only ever managed to save for us?
  15. I've no problem with signing Carroll. We're pretty short up front, Ba & Cisse could yet go to the ACN and he's a handy alternative to have when we do want to go more direct. I do have a problem with changing the thread title on the back of a tweet from that bitter dolt Luke Edwards though.
  16. Awfully sad isn't it. I feel robbed of not seeing enough of KK at the helm. Was a great day that though, thoroughly enjoyed it. I distinctly remember a clever Geremi free kick routine that left all our lads onside with an easy chance at goal- we of course missed. It fell to Oba then?
  17. Good God, not again! http://www.mountainalarm.com/images/FireWindow.jpg
  18. I think it's worth comparing the transfer strategies of the two clubs. Newcastle - Make offer, bid turned down, wait several months, make the same offer, bid accepted, player signs. Sunderland - Make offer, bid turned down, increase bid, bid turned down, increase bid, bid turned down, increase bid, bid turned down, increase bid, bid turned down, increase bid, bid turned down, increase bid, bid turned down, increase bid, bid turned down, increase bid, bid turned down, increase bid, bid turned down, increase bid, bid accepted, player signs, bankruptcy.
  19. He's a pretty good player on his day, but his day doesn't come along too often from what I've seen. Furthermore he'd want a shit load of cash and I can't see where he could fit into our starting XI. The Mackems can have him.
  20. Could be great, could be shite. Same with any player who has scored goals for fun in the Dutch league. He's a better option than Fletcher though.
