https://curia.europa.eu/juris/document/document.jsf?cid=148221&dir=&docid=290690&doclang=EN&mode=req&occ=first&pageIndex=0&part=1&text= you're literally a poison pill when you breach contract in your protected period (isak's ends Aug 26th). That's roughly the protection and the protection against clubs trying to sneakily get players to breach, during protected periods anyway.

article 17 sounds like a nuclear option for him and not something to toss around lightly. if he really wants it after august i guess we'll find out edit: Actually I think there's too much risk for him if the various assessments around the web are correct: breaching before the end of august (protected period) would be unthinkable for liverpool+isak because of the ban and legal issues and ramifications, possibly including transfer bans etc breaching after the end of august is much cleaner for everyone involved but liverpool need a striker in THIS window and might not wait around for jan. the only true way forward for both of them is liverpool not being miserly cunts

Are they still trying to send Hojland going the other way as part of the deal? The redcaf braintrust keep loudly insisting they're not skint but the echo of their protests in Jims barren scrooge mcduck vault sends mixed signals.

I'm a yank with no (meaningful) ties to any region. I missed their dominant period and i started following football around the 2002 South Korea / Japan world cup so Man U felt far more deserving of the hate due to recent histories. Then we had ashley and his parade of villains to hate about ourselves and there wasn't much time for anyone else for a long time. Even a month ago I would have said they were a bit mawkish and cringe-y but not really scornworthy. absolutely fuck them now though

we need some way to idk enable "mobility" (not to bring class-politics terms in but it fits i guess(?) ) while maintaining elite levels. What kills the league won't be a few giants it’s when no other club can dream. FFP changes, playoffs, whatever ... none of this precludes the growth of "the product" financially.

and the draft, as mad as it is, does at least try to give underperforming teams that flopped a chance to strengthen, or trade top picks for more strength etc. of course I don't think parity in the PL is the name of the game in the first place. Maybe invert the league payout table idk edit : plays a much bigger role than the draft too.
