I figured we scouted them for us and our system. How they'll perform in someone elses is another matter entirely and hard to judge them on. Also they've only been with their respective teams a few weeks, we should reserve any definitive judgement for a few more months at the least.

never seen the board so worried about content timing and social media engagement numbers. I'm no freud but I suspect a deeper anxiety about the club at play glad the fucker's joined regardless
  4. surely there's a remote calcium mine somewhere that PIF has controlling interest in. ship him there as club ambassador until he gets his head right
  5. I don't think eddie would use language like that
  6. Joelinton coming through for all the degens who had him as 1st yellow / 1st half yellow on their parlays. bless, big man
  7. I mean howe would have just said something like "that's an internal matter and we're going to keep it that way" and you wouldn't have any more information anyway

  9. Look - if you guys think he'll play for the first team again that's fine. I'm not even here to convince you otherwise. I just happen to believe it's an unsalvageable situation and different from prior star transfer disputes for the reasons I've listed.
  10. No, the first point is that they got to that stage over contractual issues and similar "gentlemen's agreements" and fixing it required leadership from the club besides the manager. They worked their issues out. Isak isn't coming to the table to work anything out.
  11. yeah but plausible deniability isn't a panacea - and it usually requires more layers of bureaucratic separation than the zero of "football player and his agent/camp" to be believable
  12. I think there are two key differences that make this more than normal agitation - 1. In all those situations you at least had a chairman/dof in place who would have had some level of relationship with the player and their agent, and thus an ability to work things out. We don't and mitchell has fucked things up beyond all recognition. As much as I hate isak that fucker deserves a softball bat to the groin too. 2. In none of them - at least that I could find, happy to be wrong about it - could I find anything like a definitive statement of "i will never play for this club again" like isak's camp has issued. Or at least we think they've issued; I do trust Ornstein, Downie, et al wouldn't make up such a severe quote out of whole cloth. I don't know the future but I think instead of ever playing for us again it's more likely that he'd swallow his pride on the loyalty bonus, put in an official transfer request, and we get a deal done extremely late
  13. how could eddie ever trust him on the pitch again? how could his teammates?
  14. I think that train has sailed. his camp's comms have left essentially no wriggle room at this point. completely unsalvageable.
  15. can't wait to see what obnoxiously dumb twists and turns this saga has left might pop on a final season rewatch of game of thrones just for laughs.
  16. people go to vegas with less change than he's lost in his couch cushions and score if there's tape of this awkward catastrophe I need to see it. @CaesarsPalace @TheWynn DM me
  17. they've been edging themselves about it for over a month. and when it doesn't come off I pity the merseyside healthcare workers who'll have to deal with all the exploded blue balls.
  18. Would make it back and then some with excessively high wages and signing on fee, given liverpool would not have to pay a transfer fee at that point.
  19. well,no, I put tl;dr because there's a lot of process skipped but the long and short of it is he can do that under fifa contract laws/rules. might be snarled in court for a short while but he could get out "for cheap" and there's no evidence the club he signed for instigated it.
  20. in the end he's going to look back and realize it wasn't worth it to set everything on fire. head turned by greedy agents? always a cunt on the inside?
  21. Article 17 is fifa's rules around transfers and such. the TL;DR is if he stays at here until the 26th, he’ll be past the "three-year protected period" under Article 17 of his contract, which mean that then he could legally end the contract by paying compensation on his remaining wages and sign immediately with whoever he wants. It's a super bad look for a lot of reasons but they're setting fire to every bridge that gets built so what else are they hoping for?
