  1. get the bodies through the door get the bodies through the door get the bodies through the door get the bodies through the .... DOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRR
  2. always said the real test was january like
  3. fucking bullshit I'm sat here having to say "i agree with souness and pardew" absolutely worst part of that decision
  4. so many penalties today what the fuck is wrong with the world
  5. aye he's probably just using the convenient excuse of "there's still a global pandemic raging that has a new highly infectious variant" to come down harsh on the lads.
  6. That's a withering 5 games in a row coming up absolute motherfuck of a December.
  7. At least theoretically we can go after the top tier journeymen seeking one last payday near the end of their careers instead of the bargain bin ones we're used to. I'm extremely happy with shortermism to ensure survival given our position.
  8. Charming Portuguese agent in a hat standing at the back of a board meeting. "You know, a club with money's a little like the mule with the spinning wheel; no one knows how he got it and danged if he knows how to use it."
  9. ultimate shithouse goal but i'll take it
  10. I want to be clear that I wasn't directly comparing their circumstances in career, just the twin qualities of this situation and ones Mourinho found himself in towards the end - 1. Results consistently under par + comments about decreased managerial ability / dressing room / "outdated" tactics etc 2. A defense being offered that it's actually just the players fault for not going along with grand plans I also wasn't saying he's necessarily already in that zone just that he's on the precipice.
  11. I'll always love him for his time here and I think the Everton fan's reaction early in the season was all a bit OTT. But at some point [narrator: "here thomas wraps up the win for Worst Poster 2021"] we may have to consider he's entered The Mourinho Zone - where once top managers are unable to replicate success and the line of saying it's all the players' fault wears thin.
  12. I can almost empathize with the panicked logic behind a decision like that in the heat of the moment - he's probably thinking we're bottom, we don't win when we're behind, i fuckedup ohgodohgodgottadosomething. Not an excuse, for the slowbrains out there thinking this is apologia. Just a shred of empathy for a shit player. Absolutely fuck him
  13. I didn't comment in the match thread at the time but there was a moment, somewhere around 65-70 minutes I believe, where we're camped out in their half, pressing and trying to pin them down near their own 18 yard box, even as the side down a man. And I remember thinking there was absolutely 0 chance of seeing something like that even with a full side under Bruce. I reckon he'll get it right. Absolutely sabotaged by Clark today. But improvement is plain to see.
  14. maybe the handshake was a "hi, I'm fede. please sell me" move I haven't heard anything good or bad about his training. At this point, after Bruce, he may have been disillusioned / unmotivated to the point of sabotaging his chances regardless with Howe? His constant exclusion is baffling.
  15. I honestly think the levels have increased a tad from the bruce era but we're still a shithouse side away to a very decent arsenal side and i don't know, im sad but not surprised i guess
  16. it would all go so wrong. it has to happen. That boiled ham in a wig would waste no time slotting Ronaldo in at left back.
  17. He left the PL in June of 2018 so any 3 year clause would have expired by now. edit: slight correction though it doesn't change anything - the announcement was in Junenbut the official retirement was mid-November 2018. Which would still mean they've expired.
