  1. Moe: Okay, punching isn't your thing. But that's okay. You're not that kind of fighter. What you're gonna do is stand there while your opponent gets exhausted from over-punching. Homer: Then I can just push him over. Moe:That's right, and if the ref's not looking, you can kick him a couple of times.
  2. http://i.imgur.com/YXyLr.png bit mean to accuse shola of being anonymous before it's even started
  3. It's a funny one, that. I would argue that Howard just stood his ground. I'll have to watch it again, it looked like Howard planted his feet and speared Anelka ala Goldberg. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCZvYom4fiY
  4. Nice body check by Howard. Drogba nails the pen.
  5. It's a beautiful thing, Bale in full flight, Carr fat and with a gigantic head, completely unable to deal with him
  6. Good work, however I think doing it on league position can distort it as it all depends on how all the other teams are doing and this year the table is especially congested. I realise that all that matters is league position at the end of the season, but I think doing the analysis on points per games played would give a better picture of how we are doing relative to how previously promoted teams have done early and then later in the season and may put some perspective on our early season performance and how it is likely* to tail off. *I think - I've no idea how it would turn out as I've not done the analysis myself I'm just going on gut feeling, it might prove me wrong but I'd be interested to know either way. Well statto won't automatically generate it for me so I might run a script to pick that information up myself tonight. On a lunch break and don't have time to manually do it all. The thing with PPG is early results will swing it even more wildly than league position before it settles down. Here's our relegation season after 15 games - 1 PPG. http://i.imgur.com/5Oirp.png Here's our current season after 15 games - 1.27 PPG (would see us end on 48 points, if it stays the same) http://i.imgur.com/VFnrO.png About the congestion bit, I'll form the graphs later but this year, at this point, isn't really that much more congested than prior years. League position and ppg are obviously linked, so I don't know how it's not a good indicator. edit: each horizontal line is roughly 4.75 points at the end of the season, e.g. 1 PPG is 8 lines up, 8 * 4.75 is 38. Our current ppg would be ~ 48 points. Our relegation ppg was right at 1, which would have kept us up, we actually got a bit worse.

I'll do one for newly promoted sides, although they already feature prominently above because most yo-yo. After 15 games I think your fate is pretty much sealed in regards to top half/bottom half. Still going with 9th-11th.
  8. *cracks knuckles, opens up excel, statto.com* ... 9th-11th.

    Fraser Forster

Majority of Celtic fans across their many forums really would like to keep him as far as I can tell. The ones that don't are calling for Given/Keiren Westwood to be brought in. All of them agree he can only get better. His supporters argue there's more pressing needs and that he's not been helped by an unsettled back four this year. His detractors are jerks.
  11. good point. Did we have to pay compensation to any club this year either?
  12. Guessing a few of those players don't have agents.
  13. Always amuses me to see large sums include pence. Sorted a little. 45k from blackpool ffs
  14. Mike's built a fort out of sofa cushions and the only way del boy could talk him out was to publish them.
  15. Pique is a handsome man, I'd pay just to watch him smile http://i52.tinypic.com/jv4ps5.jpg http://imgur.com/1p1Pj.gif http://imgur.com/1p1Pj.gif http://imgur.com/1p1Pj.gif
  16. The Thudd has peaked and will progress no further *plants staff on stone bridge* calling it now.
  17. Hughton said we had capacity to take on another player in the summer, if we still have that capacity...he has now had half the season (jan) to asses the team and see who has been coping well. I would use that capacity to bring another striker on loan and I would be on the blower to get Krancjar on loan til the end of the season, with a view to buy of course. We cant have the team stalling when Barton and Tiote are out. I missed the context but did he mean capacity to buy or just wage capacity to bring in a loan? I doubt we could get a loan in good enough to cover either of them in January and if we got another tiote I'd shit myself. Not saying we don't have to strengthen, mind, just that the window of opporunity to get better players in might have passed. Who knows though, Chris is a sly one as no one saw Tiote coming. Gamble that paid off, once in a lifetime deal or just good scouting?
  18. Still no ... oh, and here are those stats you ordered Teams who were 9th after 15 games, a look back. Season TeamFinal Position 00-01Sunderland7th 01-02Manchester United3rd 02-03Blackburn6th 03-04Birmingham City10th 04-05Manchester City8th 05-06West Ham9th 06-07Everton6th 07-08Everton5th 08-09Bolton13th 09-10Birmingham City9th And anyone thinking this is an unusually congested table after 15 games should really review prior season on statto.com - it's not really THAT unusual. I don't have the time to make graphs of it all, just trust me. Things look much better than 17th right now.
  19. I think Barton and Tiote would spend too much time getting in each others way, which is why I don't mind him out on the right. Nolan only gets back when necessary but I can see Joey camped out there in the middle annoying the hell out of Tiote and breaking down play.
  20. "Oooooohhh Nasri exploded home" - Ian Darke commentating a porno/this game. Still better than the old commentators ESPN had but he cracks me up on occasion.
  21. Arshavin past Brad edit: how the hell did I submit that mid sentence.
