  1. Trying to avoid clashes between the Ultras apparently.
  2. On this note: https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/mike-ashley-newcastle-united-takeover-latest-season-ticket-renewal/amp/
  3. It's a bit tenuous to try and starve money down the line. What next, I'm not going to matches and I'm not getting Sky, and I'm also not going in my local pub, because they've got Sky, and I'm not going to Tesco because I know a woman on the till who has Sky? You'd have to make sure never to spend a single penny on anything if you wanted to make sure a massive company like Sky didn't see it. I don't have any of them, fwiw. I have Sky but have never had any sports channels, too tight.
  4. I'm certainly not a better fan than anyone. I haven't watched a game for about 3 months.
  5. This is exactly what I was talking about last week and was called up on it. If you don’t do things you want to do just because of Ashley, then ultimately he wins. Just take her. I’ve taken my 3 year old twice this season. He’s loved it, even though we lost both times. I want to have that bond with my son, and I want him to fall in love with it. Ashley won’t be here forever, and life’s too short not to make memories with my lad. Ultimately he won’t remember whether we won or lost or whether some fat bastard was ruining the club. He’ll remember the buzz and the noise in the stadium when we score, and the day he’s spent with his dad. Ashley isn’t taking that away from me or him. Not specifically aimed at you, but I’m sick to the back teeth of the attitude on hear that you can be a better fan by not going to the games. Get over yourselves. Accept that ultimately it’s an emotional decision for a lot of people. Sure, if you take all emotion out of it, the correct thing to do is to stop going. But like it or not the emotional connection is huge for a lot of people. They are not mugs or thick or Ashley sympathisers or whatever. Everyone’s different. Like I've said before, do what you want, I don't give two shits anymore. But you are funding it, and you should be prepared to own that. Pretending that he's winning by you not going is totally deluded. He wins when you put your hand in your pocket. You're right that it's an emotional decision. The thought of giving money to Mike Ashley makes me feel fucking disgusted, so I'm going with that emotion.
  6. Last PL brace was Albert in 96, according to Lineker on MOTD anyway.
  7. Yeah it's proper bizarre. Then they'll typically move onto discussing whether e.g. Everton have spent enough in this hypothetical window at only £80m without the slightest hint of self-awareness.
  8. Totally with Rory Smith on this, it's fucking preposterous.
  9. That is fucking ludicrous. I despise this modern interpretation of offside.
  10. https://www.football365.com/news/five-things-rafael-benitez-must-pay-for-to-help-newcastle https://www.football365.com/news/merked-rio-ferdinands-bizarre-pro-ashley-newcastle-rant Hope the podcasts pick up on this tomorrow.
  11. Loving betting on the A-League at the minute. The top teams are free scoring but nobody can defend. Had quite a few BTTS/win successes over the last few weeks. Perth Glory were 2-0 down with 20 minutes left this morning, then 3-1 down, and won 4-3. Things seem to go mental in the late stages in most games.
  12. A more blatant wind up attempt I've never seen. Keys is proper pathetic like, just a genuine arsehole.
  13. They were 1-0 up with twenty minutes left and gave away 3 penalties. Strong side too.
  14. Has the £10-15m not done that?
  15. I'd actually notice 4x my salary though. None of this lot would.
