Carroll equalised in injury time iirc?! Early Saturday match?!
-
I thought we'd won that game too, it felt like a win because of how fucking awful we'd been.
-
The squad is horrifically unbalanced, it's almost impossible to play our best players all at once and there's one set for one style of football and now another lot for another. The other issue is too many players without real positions and defined roles. It's a fucking mess.

It's mint, I'd rather watch that than an individual CL game most of the time tbh. Seems odd to pay that vast amount for all the games then sticking the best bits live and free on Sky, but I'm not complaining.

Note to self: never underestimate City's bottle going in Europe. Dat Bony slash into the second tier after he did Chielini... 'Luckily' I had them on a double with their shite neighbours.

Yep, Roma-Barca free-to-air tomorrow night. Cheers. I've actually found that Sky channel 426 (BT Sport/ESPN) is switching between live coverage of all the matches and it's free. Not sure if they show goal replays as they happen though. Cheers for this Sned.

Can we please stop calling him average? Average makes me think like he'd get in a mid-table team and he simply wouldn't. The bloke is what we all knew he was when he played for them: shite.
-
I agree but I think no matter who he picks, there's a long battle at the bottom ahead. I don't see him changing the habit of a lifetime and suddenly trying to attack. Crippling negativity was his trademark at Boro and he's been exactly the same here so far. Early indications are that none of the sides who have been promoted are going to be whipping boys whilst the other clubs who were down there last year have all improved. Alarm bells should already be going off within NUFC imo.

TBF to McClaren, I'm more and more convinced that the problems on the pitch can never be put right under the current administration. The poisonous anti-competitive culture that has been deliberately developed since the day Hughton was sacked can't be swept away by a few new players or even new staff. The manager's another one who wouldn't get a job anywhere else in the top flight and the players know it. The best comparison is Hearts who were a joke for years under the last owner. A new lot has come in, they haven't spent a single penny on transfer fees, yet the club has been completely transformed, just from a different attitude at the top. This lot seem to think everything can be put right by playing Coloccini in the cups but they're finding out quickly that it can't.

He was universally accepted as shit in a side that was permanently scrapping round at the bottom of the league three years ago, before the new tranche of TV money poured into the division. It's embarrassing having him in the squad, never mind the team. He's not a Premier League player, he's also a complete cunt. Can't wait to see the fucking back of him. Even some of our doziest fans must be cottoning on to him by now.

A couple of games?!
-
Most of our fans that I've seen have been raving about the first few games, including on here. My favourite part was when we didn't get thrashed by Swansea.
-
For all the "he needs time to fix this mess" spiel, isn't it generally a given that most managers should see a honeymoon period? I just think he's a shit manager doing a shit job, which should come as no surprise to anybody who's paid attention to the bloke's career, with the GLARING exception of Derby County who have been talked up on here as one of the greatest attacking sides ever to grace the game.
-
And nor should it. I mean it obviously should like, if we had anything at all about us as a club The problem is we haven't, we're pointless. After 5 games? It would be insane. Giving the bloke the job in the first place was far more insane.
-
Is this the part where we shut up shop and everyone sings McClaren's praises afterwards for not getting hammered?
-
It's come as a complete surprise to me that Steve McClaren's not good enough to manage Newcastle. The bloke's been damaged goods for years with very good reason.
-
Fuck me, this is abysmal.
-
Colback's the replacement for Gosling though.
-
Absolutely fucking abject that.

When I went to West Ham 18 months ago, the Duke of Edinburgh was all black and white.

Wouldn't be touching that until I knew their team. If Aguero, Sterling and Silva all miss out it'd be awful value. Fair point to wait for team news but Juve have been absolutely stinking so far.
-
Man City currently 5/6 to score >1.5 vs Juve on Tuesday, that looks an absolute gift.
