Captain Steak Bakes (now managing Blackpool/revising history)
Dan Gleebals replied to David Edgar's topic in Football
Cannot believe this twat still gets airtime. Eddie has dropped the dust ourselves line more than once. Only black mark on his otherwise exemplar media performances. I do a mini sick every time he says it. -
Sven Botman: could return vs Ipswich (Tindall)
Dan Gleebals replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
Cant wait to have him back, and injury free, and a bit of time he gets back to the absolute beast he was. Unbelieable player for his age IMO, and could be one of the best CBs in league if not wider than that. Hope they don't fuck his recovery and he comes back when ready. -
Here's my prediction. Pep joins us when the shit hits the fan at City. Less to do with Eddie's record here, more that Pep would guarantee titles.
-
Think the Chelsea situation messed with his head.
-
Our record against Liverpool needs putting to bed this season. I really can't stand them.
-
No doubt about it, we will pull together. Starting tomorrow. The support he will get tomorrow will be incredible I am sure, and the team as well. Just shitty news, and I wish him and his family all the best.

Banging the same drum each week is pathetic though. Who gives a fuck anyway. Howe is doing a great job, so that is what we should focus on. Who cares if they fell out over a few things, shit happens all the time in business (and at home) and its not talked about at all, let alone weeks. Yes, they have clearly had a difference of opinion but Howe is clearly not going to talk about it, so they should just shut the fuck up and move on. As should we.

Fulham vs. Newcastle United: 21/09/24 @ 15:00 (No UK TV)
Dan Gleebals replied to HaydnNUFC's topic in Football
I guess it all depends on form, home and away. If we can maintain our home form (from last season) against most of the teams, playing the better teams now, should translate to better form on the road (I think!). Most of them are in Europe so travelling to us amidst all that makes it more favourable for us this side of Christmas. All things being equal, I guess a bit more of a spread is probably ideal over a season. To go to all their grounds in the second half of the season, especially if we are battling for top 4 this season, might make it harder for us. -

Definately need a big win, for the points and confidence. Our run of home games coming up is mental. City Brighton Arsenal West Ham Liverpool By roughly 33% of the season gone, 85% of our home games will have been against top 10 sides. Good to get them out of the way but we really need to hit form ASAP! -

I have often thought those 2 play better with white/blonde hair. Maybe they just stand out more -

As much as I would love to see Willock start, I cannot see it happening. With Bunce on board, they will be managing him VERY carefully now but you could argue starting is no different from a subs role. He is an impact player though. Cannot see Joelinton getting dropped for him either, he is a start for Eddie when fit. -
Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-2 Newcastle United (15/09/24) | Reaction: pg 51

Hard to miss it!! -
If he has as injury free season and hits prior form (I know), what is he worth?
-
I wonder if our less agressive press is based on some advice from Bunce. Based on feedback from Howe, he is clearly providing a lot of data and perhaps that suggests the players are not in the right condition (yet) to push as much, or we are limiting our output a little to get some of the players back to full fitness first. Would make a lot of sense.

Please tell me this is joke

TBF, you can say that about almost any player (getting lost in some game), even the elite ones. Haaland is often not involved in the game, and boom, 2-3 goals. Alot of Isaks form is tied to how we play as a team, although without doubt he creates a fair amount for himself. Agree, another season of 25+ goals and he is right up there.

Next 5 for the most likely contenders for top 5 (Brighton due to good start) - that will take us to just over 1/4 of the season gone. NUFC – Wolves (A), Fulham (A), City (H), Everton (A), Brighton (H) Brighton – Ipswich (H), Forest (H), Chelsea (A), Spurs (H), NUFC (A) Villa – Everton (H), Wolves (A), Ipswich (h), Man U (h), Fulham (A) Manure – Southampton (A), Palace (A), Spurs (H), Villa (A), Brentford (H) Chelsea – Bournemouth (A), West Ham (A), Brighton (H), Forest (H), Liverpool (A) Spurs – Arsenal (H), Brentford (H), Man United (A), Brighton (A), West Ham (H) Early season I know, but some strong away performances and a win against brighton and we will be in a good place Villa likely to do well over next 5. Spurs could really suffer (who knows), as could Manure.

To get two starts for england this week, the summer dissappointments will be a thing of the past now. Be good to see him back to last season form in a toon top ASAP.
-
Only positive is all our players seem to have performed well whilst away and minutes in the legs for Tonali , Gordon etc and they played well. Hopefully we have enough time to prepare for Sunday - they extra day will help! Otherwise, I agree - hate all this international stuff so early in the season (twice over!).
-
Makes far more sense, IMO, to start Tonali at the weekend. Go at then from off and get a comfortable lead, the consider bringing Longstaff on. Not the other way round.

Elliot Anderson (now playing for Nottingham Forest)
Dan Gleebals replied to joeyt's topic in Football
He probably doubled his money, so not sure he "took one for the team". -
Give it a reasonable push and it falls over. Really hate that ground.
-
As much as I hate to say it, Anfield has always been good, even before the new stand - in terms of atmosphere and location.
-
He starting tonight or what? Hope so. More minutes into his legs. Fancy him for a goal tonight.
