  2. There really are some delusional views of N'Zogbia's ability and salable value in this thread. We'll get £5-7m IMO.
  3. This pundit reckons we'll lose 2-0: http://www.previzzle.co.uk/ fo’ shizzle
  4. I've been told that it's nothing to do with Spurs and all to do with McKay. No guarantees how accurate that info is though. Well they would say that otherwise it's an illegal approach as we have clearly not given permission for Spurs to talk to the player (and by extension his agent). I really hope the club follow this up and get either McKay or Spurs fined.
  5. "nothing wrong with mickey mouse...he done very well for walt disney"---ally fraser If this "professional" route can better the record of the "mickey mouse" route's 8 top 7 finishes/5 top 4 finishes in 14 years, I'll be well happy. So basically eight top 7 finishes in 14 years then? Well to better it would be 9, or more of the 8 in the top 4, but I'd be satisfied with coming close to matching it. Think it's easy? Should be as the previous board were so incompetent, and the setup mickey mouse.

  7. Wise, Adams, Pearce !! What is this, a cockney love in ? Are our new owners determined to turn us into a pale imation chelsea or what. Of all horrible cock-er-nies Wise is the most cock-er-ney and the most horrible. New strip revealed for next season. Maintains the central black & white theme, but offers a departure from the traditional striped motif. http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/1221/cockney2du1.jpg
  8. Some of us have been worried about this for months while others were going on about how Allardyce was doing great as we were in 9th, 10th, 11th, etc. Have any of the people saying there's no chance of us getting relegated actually looked at our remaining fixtures? Under Allardyce, mrmojorisin75's predictions would have been very optomistic. Without a dramatic change in form we will not get more than 2 or 3 more points from our remaining away fixtures as all the "easy" games have already been squandered. We are reliant for points on home games against Blackburn, Fulham, Reading, 2 derbies & 2 "big 4" clubs. 5 of those we'd like to think we'd win, but as we've seen with Bolton & Derby we can easily slip up, especially if a team comes to defend. If we go into the last 7 games on less than 40 points, unless there are 3 clear relegation candidates at least 10 points below us, I for one will be very very worried.
  9. Works on "Have I got News For You!" Who have their scripts read by lawyers, and also have the benefit of facial expressions/voice tone, that make it very clear that they don't mean what they are saying. If anything they make it very clear they really DO mean what they're saying.

    Paul Merson

It's one thing to have sympathy for an addict, it's quite another thing to have sympathy for the consequences of doing nothing to try and overcome those addictions, especially when you have the means and contacts to do so easily. He's not on the street and he still has an income in excess of most of us. He gets not sympathy for his situation from me.
  13. So what's he trying to say here then?: "I wouldn't swap him for any of them (any other PL striker)." Please enlighten us stupid people who think Keane talks complete bollocks.. Well by saying that Kenwyne Jones feels wanted, and will have his spirits lifted, rather than if Keane said "Yeah I'd swap Kenwyne for X player etc". It's called Psychology, mate. "I was going to get one right, wasn't I? "By the law of averages, you are going to get one right out of 15 or 20." Roy Keane, Master of Psychology, motivating his other signings there.
  14. So are you saying Gazza was just all skill and no end product? No, not at all. I just don't think he had the mentality of a professional sportsmen and, as such, only achieved a percentage of what he could've. I'm a Gazza fan, but I don't admire him like I do Pedro. Can't go along with that. Longevity shouldn't be a concern. The question is, when both players were on the pitch for 90 minutes, who could do more in that game? It's undoubtedly Gascoigne. His wife beating, drunken, psycholgically unbalanced, drug addled state of mind doesn't come into it. It's like saying The Clash are better than The Sex Pistols because they have a larger back catalogue. The Sex Pistols' one album is better than anything from The Clash. Both are good, but the Pistols defined the period. Completely wrong, but good analogy. The Clash were much better than the Sex Pistols, but the Pistols are the one's people who aren't really into music remember because of the hype and the drama.
  15. I notice Van Persie has picked up an unspecified "virus" and is "out" for the duration of the transfer window a couple of weeks.
  16. He'll do. Not that I've ever seen him play as far as I know, and I'm not going to pretend I have, what with me never having played FM either. I'm sure there's another car in the lot if you don't sign Miguel. You missed an "r"

  18. Yeah it is. Deep down, I'm gutted but howay man.. if it fails it will shut some people up!! If it starts to go badly, he will walk anyway, so the board have a low risk strategy. The impact of the appointment will mean thoughts of relegation should be staved off but if its not moving in the right direction, they wont have to sack him at least. News has sent relegation odds tumbling to lowest level yet on betfair. :/

  21. That's an interesting point. This doesn't stand up to any scrutiny other than raw figures, however observe this: Big Sam at Newcastle this season, league and cup (24 games) Won 8, Drew 6 and Lost 10 = 30 "points" MON last season, league and cup (24 games) Won 7, Drew 10 and Lost 7 = 31 "points" ie virtually identical. Obviously, this takes absolutely no account of the quality of football played and what it was like to watch - I can imagine it was poor, and I suspect it was the deciding factor in this case, and also takes no account of the assets both managers started the season with, but his results weren't actually that bad (and again, I acknowledge the flukiness of some of them). I can't remember the exact scenario, but wasn't O'Neil wanted by your new chairman even if it was Ellis who appointed him? I not convinced Ashley would have picked Allardyce as manager given a free choice, and so he was always going to have to prove himself without getting much leeway. People who think it's the supporters who got Allardyce sacked should get a grip on reality (and I don't care what PR bullshit Mort will inevitably come out with about listening to what the the fans wanted). This is the owner & chairman's decision based on their expectations and perception of results.
