I don't think he's actively touted any of his players in the press (the only one under contract he has acknowledged to be open to offers was Simpson iirc), and Demba Ba would be one of the last players he'd want sold. He is a quality striker guaranteeing goals that you'd struggle to replace for £7m, nevermind the reduced amount that we'd actually receive after fees etc.

He refused to travel. /Fox Soccer -
Had nowt for the Breda game, but a fair few of us ended up in the home end after getting pally with the locals and taking their tickets off them in return for cash/shirts/booze. Would have had a cracking time even without getting in tbf.

Wrong on one thing Demba mate. You ARE a legend

More like 4 years, shirley?

It's a forced show of sportsmanship and as such has no worth whatsoever. Should never have been brought in (in a large part as another sop to the sponsors) a few years back, and should be consigned to the scrapheap, the sooner, the better.

What were you expecting from a club commisioned documentary? Footage of King Kenny stuffing whiskey bottles up his hoop? Not expected, no. But I certainly hoped for footage like King Kenny stuffing whiskey bottles up his hoop. /hope it leaks out at least. //the candid bits. ///... onto Youtube.

Seems like the 'Being Liverpool' documentary is a fluffy bunny PR piece rather than getting stuck in, whipping off their trousers and taking a torch to their undercrackers. Deeply disappointing.

A fair question, and I'm sure it must be a horrible thing to think back on over the years. As you say, it is so easy for a bit of light hearted pushing those ahead in a crowded situation to escalate into a crush, I've been at the wrong end of it a fair few times now and avoid those situations as much as I can now. You can experience that complete loss of control even in small crowds, where there are guys only few yards back that have no idea of the panic they're causing as people start to lose the ability to stand and balance individually. Again, I'm in no way apportioning blame to any people in particular, just commenting on crowd dynamics and how god damned scary it can be.

Yohan Cabaye (now sporting coordinator at Paris Saint-Germain)

You sure on that? I haven't the foggiest what Ashley wants half the time though have my doubts that that is the limit of his ambition. It would seems counter to his ever expanding empire, and everything he has achieved. Run on the cheap, or at least without further external investment? Yeah, I can go along with that. To simply stand still? Nah, not a chance. -

Nowt wrong with what AVB has said. Lloris is number one, but you can't say anyone is an automatic starter whatever the scenario. And the scenario is that to drop Freidel after last week would be expected, but harsh, and needs to be played carefully. Deschamps is a fucking tool.

Everton vs Newcastle United - 17/09/12 @ 8pm (Live on Sky)

Would be a perfect result if them 2 scored. Surely the perfect result would be an 11 nil win with everyone scoring including krul What about our subs? -
Agreed.
-
Eh? How Xisco! There's not much left on yer contract, fancy doing the same?
-
That would indeed be staggering. Which is why precisely nobody is saying that they are as far as I can see.
-
Fair enough. Time for me to fuck off to the pub.

Guess it'll change when some of the rough figures are sorted but as it stands Wigan, Swansea, WBA, Fulham, Everton, Tottenham and Arsenal have all spent less. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/premier-league/transferuebersicht/wettbewerb_GB1.html

You don't finish 5th and just think that it's job done though and we're unlikely to match that this season with our current squad and number of games to play. Finishing 5th was totally unexpected and we should have tried to build on it and we haven't. Bringing players in is easier when you qualify for Europe than it is when finishing in the chasing pack. The ambition of the club goes no further than breaking even. You're right, we could and should have at least signalled an attempt to push on. To use that to do down the achievements of the last season is just laughable though.
