If he badly wanted to play for NUFC, he would shut up, knuckle down and get on with his football rather than saying he'll look to leave if he doesn't get a game. If he's not willing to be 4th choice and fight to be 1st choice, then we are better off without. There's other players who are more valued than him would love to be playing more regular football who haven't came out to press with ultimatums. He agrees. “At Newcastle, I’ve had competition all my career,” he said. “I thrive on that, and it doesn’t bother me one bit. The manager makes a decision, and you’ve just got to accept that. “I need to keep working hard and knuckling down." “The thing I love doing is playing football. That’s what I want to do. “I felt good. I’ve just got to keep training, knuckle down and see what happens.” “The suspension was a big killer, but I’ve come back now,” said Taylor. “For six, seven or eight weeks now I’ve been ready and feeling good. That’s all I can do. I’m ready and fit for selection.” I'm not going to get angry at a player unless he starts demanding a start or throws in a transfer request. His injuries are frustrating but he's a very capable player that our squad desperately needs (remember the hand wringing that went on in the summer because we missed out on adding another CB in the summer).

He will remain a Newcastle player like you said Carroll would remain a Newcastle player Alan? "We are fortunate to have him, we are enjoying him while he is here and long may that continue." Ah, fair enough, should have just said that in the first place. -
Yup, first names on the team-sheet.

That's the top and bottom of it like. There's no intention to fend off other clubs from buying our players & every intention to encourage them. Am I missing something here. In the last two transfer windows, we've done exactly that, despite or captain and Cabaye both trying to force our hands. And surely, after we came 5th it'd be a nonsense to say we didn't get offers for some of our players that would have given us a substantial return. Does that tally with a club that has 'every intention' to encourage player sales? I'd be staggered if Cabaye lasts another year at the club, but that will be down to the players desires more than our own. If that were the case I'd be pisses if we didn't try and drum up some competition for his signature. -

I'm guessing this is our manager? It's a quote from Redknapp regarding Bale. ... or Possibly Rednose on Ronaldo, I forget. -
Yup, Zaha for sure. Wish we could go after Tom Ince. Ince is exactly the kind of player we should be targeting, imo. He's not good enough (yet) to get meaningful playing time for one of the big spenders, though they're sure to come calling. Play for Newcastle, or languish on the bench for Chelsea/ManU/City etc. Not sure this line of arguement holds much water. It sounds sensible, but I'm not sure Ince would get considerably more game time with us than 'big' teams. In the same vein as Zaha (or Haidara, or Viana, or Bigi, or Sammy, or Rossi, or Vucic, or Amalfitano, or N'Zogbia, or any number of young players who we have expected good things from), we are a club that has good players, and a certain amount of expectation, but also considerable pressure. We tend not to throw players in and let them get on with it. We get edgy and stick with pros, simply because we don't have the confidence or number of games that bigger clubs have, or the lack of resources of smaller clubs. Not just Pardew, to a large extent, any of our past managers.

Good half, but no goal to show for it. Fuck Pardew.
-
That's not what I said, the side Pardew has had for last couple of years is much stronger than Norwich or the side Hughton had in the prem. That side Hughton had in the Premiership came 5th with considerably less spent on it by Pardew than Hughton has spent on his team. Cisse was prolific for Hughton. You what. Pardew still spent less on Hughtons squad than Hughton has spent on Norwich. Either that means (as was being argued) that Hughton had a great leg up in the championship because our team was significantly better than usual promotion contenders, or...

Agreed. I can only assume obscenely drunken fingers produced that laughing smiley.

If you think it's going to happen, chances are, it will happen. You are part of the collective. Part of our conscience. Collaborator in creating the reality. Charlie Brown taught me that.
-
Like Jol, Clarke (and Hughton, Poyet, O'Driscoll and maybe Lambert). You'd still have him here over Pardew though, right?

as much as I liked rob lee as a footballer his personality often came over as smug and arrogant, both in the press and in person. He's a top bloke. Fucking cares about NUFC too, fwiw.

Enjoying the season so far, so something must be going right. /'dead' Kinnear must be working his voodoo. /the point about Owen is expected an so shit. What a cunt that horse fairy is. Jesus.

Newcastle United vs Southampton - Saturday 14th December at 3pm (not on TV)

Yeh I think it will be. I'd push Jonas next to Tiote and have Anita adopt the creative role however... Anita the creative role? f*** is this? Nice contribution. Have a nice day. Should I have used trequartista or something? Nah he's saying Anita shouldn't play that high up.... he's the man you want in deep getting the ball and knitting it altogether he has no place playing behind the striker playing the final pass etc etc. Had on, out of Tiote, Jonas, and Anita, which one is potentially the more creative? -
Profits may be ok but results still saw the share price drop 10%. Will have to be a Tesco Value Christmas for Ashley this year.
-
I can't imagine it is going to be any big gain in revenues though. Fair enough. Well, I'd agree with you there.
-
Mbiwa and Anita are both down as £6.7m on nufc.com. At the time though, there were plenty of reports putting Anita down as £8m.
-
Petty my arse. The press profit from us like any other media organisation. This isn't going to stop anyone writing shit about us, you just have to look at the Journals posturing to see that. Seems like you're just getting in a tiz over it because you don't enjoy the idea of us trying to increase revenues (without hitting us supporters in the pocket I might add) as long as you see it as an Ashley backed initiative. All power to his elbow.
-
Seems a bargain compared to Debuchy and Krul. Will lob in a bid.
-
You what? The press can still write as much as they want, but if they would like interviews outside of scheduled press conferences etc, then pay for club employees time, as I suspect the tv companies do as part of their contracts. Also, if this is even implemented, I'd be amazed if we were the only club doing it. Just seems like an extra revenue stream that avoids hitting the rest of us in the pocket.

Newcastle United vs Southampton - Saturday 14th December at 3pm (not on TV)

Urrrgh. The last prediction I made was Swansea 3 - Newcastle 0. Going to have to see if I've become a bona fide mystic and predict... Newcastle 9 - Southhampton 1 (o.g) -
What? Danny Mills, Luke Varney and Matt Holland... Colossus of the game. It's colossi.
-
Who knew that one of Pardews actual nicknames is ‘Mr Motivator’. Well acording to The Metro website. That said, a quick spin on Alta Vista came up with a fair bit to back it up, sometimes by people in the know. Matt Holland "He is a strong character... I enjoyed working under him... He is a very good man-manager." Bob Moncur "... He is a very good motivator of men." Luke Varney "He isn't a ranter and raver by any stretch of the imagination, but his man-management skills are superb." Danny Mills "He is very much an all-rounder and I haven't worked with much better. I thoroughly enjoyed playing under Alan on loan because his man-management was good, he was tactically very aware and his coaching was decent." "He was good with the collective but also very good when it came to dealing with us as individuals." "He understands players and he understands what players go through. It's great for a player to have someone like Alan around because you have someone who'll listen and talk to you." Anyway, doesn't strike me as much of an issue really. His players past and present rarely have a bad word to say about him in that respect, and even through the worst times last year, the one thing you could hold onto was the continued feeling that he still had the respect of the dressing room. Previously it has always been his tactics being held up for ridicule. Now that that view has taken a bit of a knock, the one thing held up as a rare good point is being questioned. Not saying it's not shit when the team look about as interested in a game as the tories are in the latest Clegg brainwave. It makes no sense to most of us when that happens, but I suspect it's more complex than Pardew failing to gee them up with a pep talk 9 out 0f 10 times.
