Gerrard needs to stop taking free kicks, corners, or even be on the pitch right now, total joke of a player. (gonna haunt me at the weekend) -

Or being an England goalkeeper. The next bush tucker trail should be that. "Tonight you are going to be England's No1" -
He'd take the job, but since he's been piss poor so far i doubt anyone in their right mind would offer it to him.

What a total let down. This is why i hate the national team, they are even worse than Newcastle for fuking up and disappointment. Carson is total wank like. -
1st time i've looked into this thread, can't see this being a good day for us at all.

I've stuck with our man. Hughes is doing a good job, but talk of him taking the manu post after Fergie goes is jumping the gun a little. He's proved nothing other than he's a good premiership manager, that compared to a legend, well, they'll need someone as big to replace Fergie when he goes. If Hughes wins the FA cup or UEFA cup this season he'd still be light years away from proving his credentials as the right man to take over a very difficult post.

Given could certainly use some competition, and we most certainly could do with the cover, Harper is average at best, i wouldn't mind letting him go for free if we could bring in Jussi for nothing at the end of the season (or possibly a swap to allow the deal to go through in the winter window)
-
I would be delighted if we could get £10m for him in the jan window. Time to get rid of this crock of shit.

Well said.

I can see it in their eyes. Basically Platini is the French version of Anal Oliver making shit up to sound important. Face it, the guy is a legendary prick, sooner he goes the better. Tell me TT what has America touched that it hasn't totally ruined? Those kind of questions and the assumptions of Platini belong in places such as this, not him talking openly about it without cause or substance to anyone who will listen to the cunt. To point the finger at someone who's done nothing wrong is beyond a joke for someone in his power, he's bad at his job, and is trying to strangle football. The Glazers managed to purchase Man U for instance by hocking the club upto its neck....I'm not even sure it's legal. But thats saying a thief is a murderer. If he came out and expressed his concern at the way Manu have been purchased then fine, but to say something totally untrue is abuse of his power. Managers get fined for critisising bad decisions, he wants sacking from his post for spouting lies.

Where did the Glazers & Hicks & co say they want to bring ad breaks in and want to control football?
-
But he's not really that tall, for a GK anyway.

Oh please sort the title out man. Edit: Dave to the rescue.

I was sitting about 10 rows in and about 10 rows along from the corner Rob Lee scored. At least thats the angle i can just about remember, then nothing much after that.
-
I was there for it also, although i really cannot remember much about the match itself apart from Rob Lee's goal nearly breaking my back in half and some fit middle aged bird next to me cracking onto me the whole match then pissing off 5mins before then end.
-
I screamed at the TV a lot, jumped up and down, hugged a lot of people, and when i finished i felt sick and dizzy. My heart almost exploded, my hands were badly shaking, it was difficult to finish my pint.

If he had done it at the same speed at Barton's tackle then fair enough, but tbh, thats just utter bollocks. Take your B&W specs off for a moment, it was disgusting, against a mackem or not.
-
Should of been a 3 match ban and a sending off. Stupid cunt, less of that or fuk off.

FA says it is powerless to act over Barton's tackle http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,2210099,00.html Simon Williams Tuesday November 13, 2007 The Guardian Newcastle United's Joey Barton will not be punished for the challenge on Dickson Etuhu during Saturday's north-east derby despite the referee's admission that he had not seen the incident clearly. Replays showed Barton plunging his studs into the groin of Sunderland's Etuhu, a former team-mate at Manchester City, but the FA said yesterday it was powerless to act. Although the referee, Martin Atkinson, said he had not realised how high Barton's boot was when it made contact he had, strictly speaking, seen the challenge. Under FA rules no retrospective action can be taken because the officials had decided not to punish the incident during the game. An FA spokesman said: "The Football Association can only take action in the case of incidents that are not seen by officials. While it is clear that the officials did not see the full extent of the incident, they did see players coming together and to take any further action would be tantamount to re-refereeing the game and this would be contrary to the laws of the game." The news came as a relief to Newcastle's manager, Sam Allardyce, last night, although he is privately annoyed at Barton for making such a rash challenge. Allardyce has spoken of the player's growing maturity since he moved to St James's Park from Manchester City for £5.8m and feels let down by his actions. The FA is privately frustrated that Barton cannot be disciplined for a challenge that made TV viewers cringe, although there is no blame attached to Atkinson. It believes a three-match ban and a fine for violent conduct would have been appropriate. Sunderland's manager, Roy Keane, declined to comment on the announcement last night. However, former Black Cats captain, Gary Bennett, who was at the game as a pundit for local radio, believes Barton had a lucky escape. "The intention was there and it appears Joey Barton is a very lucky boy," said Bennett. This is the latest controversy to sour the career of the 25-year-old Barton. He was punished for stubbing a cigar out on the eyelid of a youth team player while at Manchester City and denies charges of assaulting another former City team-mate, Ousmane Dabo, following a fight at the club's training ground this year.
