I disagree. I think it's part of our identity. Either play it every home game or not at all. How? Its a cheesy song written by a Scotsman for a Scottish film IIRC. I don't recall NUFC being in Scotland. When was it made? Early 80's? What did we do before then? When was the 1st time it was played, who decided that we adopted it? (really would like to know where it all stems from if anyone can answer, ta) People over rate this song, its boring, dull and uninspiring. A new era could easily bring a new song, something with a bit of passion and charisma. Its not our culture, we can get rid of it, it doesn't define us by any mean.

We'd be top of the league if we played 442 from the start.

Aye. Our set pieces in general have improved s*** loads. Geremi seems to be at heart of most of them. Geremi's back must kill after the game with those f****** throw-ins. o o o o o o o o o¬ I HA HA! He needs to stay fit he is the key to most of Sams ideas. As for Milner, at one point I thought Milner would of been better as a forward (not a striker) or AM, rather than a winger. Milner was a middle man before joining us. I'm sure he'll revert back to there at some stage in his career.

Fuking messy coverage, not just by the Spanish feed but Sky really are doing shite as well.

Perhaps because they can see that it slows games down and makes it near impossible for a striker to time a run when he doesn't know when to expect the cross in. Perhaps you can list the reasons why it's a good thing that someone would continuously turn and try to beat the same man over and over again? There were a couple of times where Milner should probably have crossed a bit earlier, and he dallied on the ball somewhat, I agree. However, when one considers he is advancing with the ball into the penalty area I don't see the problem. He's keeping possesion, confusing the defender(s), creating space for himself and moving towards the danger area. I'm sure he doesn't do it for fun. I don't mean to be rude Dave but that's a load of bollocks. So Milners out on the wing with the ball while the strikers are waiting to make a move, how are they suppose to time that run while he's turning back again and again on the ball? He's confusing the defender but he's also confusing our strikers as they don't know when he's going to put the ball in. It's as bad as the spin Scott Parker used to do in midfield that everyone thought was great to start with too, doesn't help the team at all though. He wasn't out on the wing when he was doing this, he was inside the penalty area. Possibly trying to make space for a cross-shot, who knows. If he puts it in first time every time, don't you think that gets a bit easy for the defence to predict? He's got to mix things up. And I don't see the comparison with the Parker thing at all. One is very near the goal and is a major threat, the other is nothing of the sort. If its the incident am thinking of then he really had no option but to do what he did. He lost his man but there was no clear pass or shot, so he moved again to try and find something else instead of just banging it into the box and hitting the 1st man.

The greatest league in the world just got bigger and better this season. Whoever wins it surely wins the hardest club competition in footballing history. The Spanish league have some great teams, but beyond the top 8 the rest are Championship teams at best, Serie A is going through so much change and the bottom of their league can also be classed as poor and weak, a lot worse than La Liga imo. Nothing really compares, and the extra TV revenue will allow it to grow further and further in the future. You really just need to look at the standard of the Championship to realise how strong our top division really is. This league needs Liverpool to come and play, and they are, it also needed Tottenham to challenge Arsenal, which they haven't but i think next season there will be 2 or 3 teams taking Spurs place as the next best outside the top 4, i expect us & Citeh to be two of them, WHU with a new manager could also do some damage next season. Derby are the only team that sticks out and is certain of its future. But again next season we'll have 2 oe 3 very strong Championship teams coming back up and those that go down richer than ever. The cycle at the bottom will continue, and both leagues will benefit greatly.

You don't need reason, after all this is a Spuds forum. I'm bored of that joke already. I'm bored of the Spuds talk, i might go find me a NUFC forum.

You don't need reason, after all this is a Spuds forum.

False. Your opinion matters not, tbh. Yes it does, this is a Spuds forum after all.
-
Yes, and I can confirm it's good news that the cunt is injured. Another dream team player bites the dust. (this is why i've only got one NUFC player, am totally cursed)
-
This place really is turning into a Spuds forum. Might as well name change now and save us all the hassle of over returning. Any news on the Drogba injury?
-
Another dream team player!
-
Fuking bollocks! Left my Villa players out of my dream team.
-
Sensible approach TT. Its just a hangover, it will be over soon and i wont do it again.
-
I very much doubt any of those figures are correct. Knock abour 33% off the lot would be my guess, but like the OP its just a guess.

I stomped my feet at the thought of signing him, and so far he's proven me right, he's simply a nothing player with a good work rate. Too early to jump on him yet though, like i said then, he's got my support while playing for us. He's got a season to impress and prove himself, if not i think we should move him on in the summer.
-
Competing with a big 4's reserve team and youngsters.
-
From what i hear.
-
That Ashley Young is a good player, he's a player I would like us to have got first I admit I thought they'd paid well over the odds when they signed him, but he's looking impressive. never saw our game against Watford last season, but when we played Villa I liked him and he seems to be getting better, I like his pace, he can run to the byline and cross from both sides [great talent, massively underestimated by people] and gets into the box to score a goal or two as well. I wish we had bought him, he's a great spot by O'Neill http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=18418.msg342156#msg342156

Now we can all laugh.
-
It is pretty funny though. Its funny as long as he's allowed back!
-
0-0 We should have a very good team defensively when the dust settles. We've got nothing in attack though, well unless were going to punt it over the top of our defensive mid and straight to the attackers, who only one of them is comfortable controlling the ball with his head.

aye, a bit odd to say the least, but top news if he really does fall in love with the club, and the city. Over the years, I've brought a canny few people to Newcastle for matches, weekends, nights out etc and everybody never failed to have a good time and like the city Makes you feel really good tbh when this happens Aye it does, lets hope its happening again just with him instead of someone you've met on holiday! Lets hope he feels its the best thing he's ever done, buying this club.
