  1. I do think we were close, but the fat man has moved the goalposts, probably the noise about the advertising at SJP. I supposed his wet dream in this is leaving with his pound of flesh but still impacting us financially and visibly for as long as he possibly can. Look what he did to Rangers with a tiny stake in the club.

    Transfer rumours

Doubt we can compete with the financial muscle of the Mighty Leeds for a Hull player.
  3. Tidy player, disappointed in the way he left, felt like he lacked desire and a decent set of balls. Looks like we all lost out on this one. Maybe if he were a few year older he'd not have reacted the way he did and instead knuckled down and worked for his spot.

    Rafa Benítez

Thought Rafa said earlier this season there was no way we would go down?
  5. 90 mins against the worst defence at home and we manage zero shots on target. Safe as houses, us.
  6. Yeah, I think it's goosed this one. Either nowhere near as advanced as Ashley led us to believe or he's moved the goalposts and the buyer is reluctant to commit. Stuck with him forever.
  7. Arsenal after him. Glad we monitored him for them, wonder if we pass our scout reports on to them to try and cover our costs?
  8. Fucking mop headed cunt. Hope he finishes them off.
  9. Could be competition, for me I think it’s the reaction he got from the fans after his Ashley comments. He probably felt attacked, then it later sunk in he’d let us down. Probably a mix of anger towards us and himself with a large dose of self pity. Only thing he can do is to turn it around on the pitch and take his game up a notch, words are pretty meaningless from him right now.

    José Mourinho

Don't think he's finished but he isn't at the forefront of management and needs to take a step backwards in terms of clubs (maybe even retire in to International Football) and go somewhere he's respected, appreciated and loved, warts n all. Like Rafa here. When (if) he puts his ego aside and realises that's where he is now, he'll probably start enjoying it all again and have a second wind.

    Kenedy

Suppose if he was doing it consistently he'd be playing for Chelsea and not just being loaned out every season. I'm glad we didn't make the permanent move for him. I'm not sure if he's good enough for us never mind Chelsea. Long way to go for him and really needs to buck up his ideas or I can't see another premiership club risking using up a loan slot for him next season, I certainly can't see anyone buying him unless its around the £10m mark.
  12. Hopefully we’re in a position not to offer him a new contact come the end of the season.
  13. I trust Caulkin, but he was fed 3rd hand news and spun a yarn. It was a clever campaign from her, in the end though not serious enough to come back at any time in the last year, even when interest has sparked again by other bidders. Not sure if she was just an Ashley pawn, the setup meal makes me think so.
  14. That could be the biggest hurdle in all of this. If Kenyon's consortium or another investment group is buying a club as a business interest it has to make financial sense. If due diligence shows the club to be worth £100m less than Ashley is asking, due to the low value of playing staff, poor training facilities, stadium needing updating etc. that isn't a sound investment and a lower offer makes sense. Kenyon could hardly go back to his backers and recommend that they pay £300m for a club that is actually worth £200m. That could've been why Staveley walked away, maybe she was serious after all but pissed Ashley off because she proved he was overpricing the club. She wasn't serious. She was a big a player as Ashley. According to? Her actions throughout. She was a chancer. Would have been out of the fire and in to the volcano with her. Don't worry, a lot of people were fooled. Her apparent interest almost ruined out transfer window which could have seen us relegated. Looks like lessons learned this time round.
