Newcastle United promoted back to the Premier League

Smart management by hudds. It could make a huge difference in the play offs -
Yet another penalty to Brighton.

Imaging having to give your other prized asset away for nowt because your relegation dodging expedition has ended in the glorious disaster everyone outside of the club hoped for.

Jamaal Lascelles speaking to the official club website: “Five or six months ago, I started feeling my groin. I thought it was a bit of tightness, or whatever, but I was really struggling with it. “Every day in training, I’d probably train at about 50% – I couldn’t really run, or use my left foot. “I spoke to the medical staff, and the manager, and it’s not something that can get worse – if you grit your teeth and manage the pain, you can get through it. “I just thought, ‘We’re in a position here where we can get promoted’, and obviously – being the captain – I wanted to be involved. The manager trusts me and he wants me to play. “I’ve had a gym programme for four or five months now – you can’t heal it, but you can manage it by doing that. I’ve focused on that every day. “I’ve probably not helped myself this season, in some areas, but that’s the sacrifice you make, and I’m willing to make it. It’s helped the team, and now I can get this sorted in time for pre-season. “It has been tough – there have been times where I have had head loss because of how painful it’s been. “Sometimes, it hasn’t done me any justice because you play how you train. If I’m in training, and I’m just jogging about, it can show on the pitch on a matchday. “Hernias can be different for different people. I think Alan Shearer once had a hernia and he managed to play nine days later. One of the young boys, Jamie Sterry, has had one and he took it really well – he trained again after four weeks. “It’s the end of the season and I can rest over the summer a little bit. The first couple of weeks, I’ll just be walking and doing a few different movements, I can’t imagine I’ll be doing anything mad. “If we weren’t already up, I’d still be trying to get through it and trying to play, but the job has been done, and now I can look after myself and better myself for next season.”

Here's one I made earlier. Bet they borrowed the PVA glue from the Palace

I'm more of this view. Remember Shola playing on with a bad hip which left lasting damage. Aye, same with Taylor and his shoulder under souness. I just don't see the point, nothing good will come of it. At the least in this situation a lot of fans have questioned his ability over that time while no doubt this has taken away some of his game. It might not excuse the drops in concentration but his overall form in between has been patchy. We have 4 decent centre backs, Arguably our strongest position this year. Seems like Mbemba and Hanley have struggled to convince Rafa that they are decent. Believe Mbemba was more down to not following instructions. Wouldn't say all is forgiven but he's at least finally had a chance to redeem himself. Hanley has looked ok every time I've seen him. I think it's probably more down to have the op and lose the player for a significant amount of time, thus relying one 3, or play him at 80% until the end of season or if it gets too much then make a decision. Honestly we've a decent crop of centrebacks for a change, at least some depth. None of them are as bad as made out on here, especially the ones struggling for game time.

Looks like Coates is off to Russia for 15m euros. Make me feel better about shit buy out clauses ala Thauvin

He's tailed off in that time, really no need when chancel was there ready to take his place. Silly move all round, never risk a players health.

Love this lad. Really hope the prem isn't too big a step up and he continues to develop. Easily my favourite player this season. Sir Isaac
-
They'll probably sell him. ATM he's cost them around £2-3m as from what I've heard the initial fee is around £8m over the contract and rest is appearances and addons. To think they've still got £6m to pay for Djilbodji
-
He sees two seasons out after this one I reckon he'll have them back up. It's critical they let him start next season, start slowly then to appease the fans sack him with no other Fucker in mind to take control. They'll end up with Curbishley or O'Leary.
-
The Djilbodji was a club signing, he was scouted before Moyes came on board and fat sham was already underway to sign him. N'Dong was all Moyes though (£13m) he'll go back to France and have a good career, tidy player in there when he grows up....very lightweight though. Everything else was panic buys as he didn't have time to scout as much as he normally likes. Usually he watches a player for months, even tracks them for years, but with no time to spare he went for people he knew and he could trust to stay in his corner.

I'm here mate. Been a long time coming this and I'm under no illusions, it'll be a hard league to get out of next season. Without investment? I hope the young lads step up. Our U23 side is in a final. They must have something. With/Without Moyes? I must be one of few who think sticking with him is the best option. He was dealt a shit hand both at the start and throughout this season. Hasn't helped himself I admit but I think he could build something. I feel pretty apathetic towards this, pretty 'meh'. My shift change has recently allowed myself to get a season ticket again next season for the first time in four years. I'm looking forward to going to every game again and a weekend away in Leeds with some of the lads off my Sunday league team. Still my team, I'm disappointed, it's not the end of the world Fair play, i wont pretend im not happy and i wont say your fans dont deserve it cos yous do. SAFC and its fans thoroughly deserve this, yous put up with it to not be like the mags, to be canny in the eyes of the nation.....no fucker gives a fuck about yous man I genuinely think yous will struggle for automatic promotion but the playoffs should easy be in reach with former PL players. Good luck.yous will need it Enjoy the fizzy pop leeeeg Really man, any need? You're as bad as "they are". Any need for what ? I said fair play, i aint swore.i dont kiss arse .so fuck off with the twisting. This lad is a decent poster and im pointing out my opinion on his club and fans.shall i just say we will miss them and you dont deserve relegation? Fuck that. In that outbreak of nonsense you swore twice and twice again in the reply, but fair play. I can however confirm that no arse kissing took place.

He isn't though. Just a current media darling which means his good moments are highlighted and his deficiencies are brushed over. Decent but really nothing special. Depends on what you define as special. If special is different then you'll be hard pushed to find another English keeper as good as him with the ball. His distribution skills are really good, he's easily their best passer of a ball which tells its own story. All you here is goalkeepers being critisised for being shot stoppers only, well here's one with something else to his game and it's this that makes him different....special is probably too far, but there's big interest in him due to unique skill set. He is a footballer as well as a keeper, something Pep at citeh seems to rate so highly he shipped out England's No1. You've obviously seen a lot more of him than I have. From what I have seen the hype outweighs the substance. We'll see. As a goalkeeper he's average premiership, unsure if that turns in to anything special or not but he has a lot of time on his side. But as stated it's the other side of his game which is usually none existent in English keepers which sets him apart from other keepers. Everton would be perfect for him right now, and he's improve them massively.

Loads of teams are going to miss the 6 easy points each season.
-
Our left flank is tragic, we desperately need a new LB and LW, but we really need to focus on an attacking mid to sit behind Gayle. Finally some competition for Shelvey. TBH there's a case for almost every position, which tells its own story.
-
No way does he turn down a gig like that. It hasn't gone well but he'd be mad not to try, even at this young age. If he does get the sack I hope he comes back here, he's at the very least a good coach already from what people say about him.

What a day out. Regretted it going up to the stadium, wanted to be anywhere else but there. Few drinks later and some decent grub and I'd settled down, had Sunderland on to win so couldn't lose on this one, then the goal...then the anger and mood change. Must admit I enjoyed watching them be relegated in their own back yard. Feel sorry for the guys who I was with, good lads, good supporters, shat on immensely, but that's football, winner and losers and yesterday football won.

I was there, still am. Will post the moment it happened later

Newcastle United lose Judicial Review against HMRC

The payet deal is under investigation -
Up to Rafa really. Doesn't look great for him right now unless we can get another loan. £6m isn't much these days but we've got to focus on key players right now not squad. The squad is big enough, it lacks quality though.
-
Tbf this is what I've been saying all along, no point sacking him now and pay full price. His contract is either halved or he can go for nowt. Not sure he'd take the latter, but everyone has that 50% clause.

£3 on mitrovic to get the next goal.
