Wonder if we've learned how to string a few meaningful passes together during the break. Hope it's not same old tired performances of late.

Beardsley knows more about what goes on at this club under Ashley than anyone else nar the man himself. He probably sees both sides, and just feels he needs to say what he has to as people aren't as privy to what he knows. He's not the brightest so comes out a bit wrong, then people get on his back so he's defending his opinion and what he knows which unfortunately doesn't fit the public perception. I've met him, he's a normal bloke who can say the wrong thing, be selfish, be abrupt. He's not fake and is totally honest whether that opinion matches what you think. Can't knock him for that. Comparing him to pardew is tragic like.

I agree but people still talk about the Bowyer window and the beginning of the end of the clubs recent high point. Which is correct. Windows can have huge impact and memories linger.

first one mainly
-
He'll have a host of clubs after him this summer, probably with a view to loan back.
-
I think probably a bit of both if am honest. Townsend was available for what we paid, we were interested, then we fannied around with a loan (the mistake) by the end they wanted a loan fee plus what we received from them next season and we wouldn't pay more than what they did for a player whose stock had perceivably gone down. Palace tried to cash in on our desperation, were extremely non negotiable on the last day just as we thought our hand was stronger than what it was. Those are honest mistakes by the board, something to be disappointed in, but not angry imho. Think Rafa is over it and now looking st the future, he's told the board not to make the same mistakes early doors that is clear and fair enough. We move on.
-
The other side is he should have addressed that in the summer instead of buying keepers and defenders he didn't need and don't play. Bet he'd rethink some of his signings in hindsight. I don't think the window was anything to do with that, just we didn't like what we heard from other clubs and were dicked around by palace over Townsend. Had the one transfer gone through everyone would have been happy. Margins are fine, when a club on the last day starts moving goalposts then it's always going to be tough, especially since Ashley won't back down. If he's still here by my birthday then he's in it for the long haul but will continue to use the media to put pressure on the club. He said enough about it, then asked everyone to move on. Seems people haven't listened to that and 3 months later reading whatever they can in to it all. He'll be here next season imo, just as I was certain he'd stay on this season and thought we'd land him at all. Just plying the game a lot better than the average fan can cope with.
-
Bet he's nowhere near as pissed as the fans being pissed on his behalf. If he is then he resigns on 7th May regardless of anything that happens between now and then.
-
Surely there'll be a huge chance someone will kill him.
-
Yeah, I'm sure Rafa is so grateful that Charnley and Ashley made him reassess the January window in the cold light of day. I think he's looking to the future knowing he has more to spend than had we overspent in January. Should we go up everyone should be thinking that. We'll get nowhere if we can't move on from the past and mistakes, whoever made them.
-
We go up and January was a successful window. It's a gamble, but no point looking back. Going forward it does mean more to spend this summer and less chance of bring held over a barrel. I think Rafa has come round to that way of thinking now after putting his initial dissapointment behind him.
-
188/1 for us to not go up and the mackems to stay up.
-
Surely they must be sailing close to the edge of FFP rules considering they've lost at least £20m a season for the last 5 years (or something daft like that) Points deduction this or next season?
-
 Knowing how vain the cunt is this is hurting deep inside.
-
He will be good for them in the Championship, reckon they'll come straight back up with him and go on to stabilise the club once returned. Best thing all round is they sack him and they still go down.
-
Anyone else just watching to see a Defoe injury?
-
They did iirc. We were keen for a couple of years prior to his move.
-
Sturridge is finish imo. Let some daft club like West Ham fork out fortunes for him and get to see him play at 100% 3 times a season.
-
Good read that, cheers. Racism thing aside how can that ground thing not be criminal? Jesus. Probably is, hence why it says tried. I imagine he got a huge fuck no by a court somewhere, while no doubt the FA stood doing fuck all.
