I honestly don't know anyone who was fizzing when they did it. I know some questioned a plane flying over exactly at 17mins but it was just a coincidence. He started like a house on fire, looked brilliant. In another era you'd refer to his spiral of form as being Pardewed. He's got loads of goals recently. He tore up the division the first few months, goals aside his general play hasn't been that great. Not for the price we paid. Sure he also had a better return with Bournemouth when he was last here. Maybe my expectations were too high.

He signed most of them. He bought a full back 4 and a keeper (Gamez, Hanley, Clark, Lazaar & Sels) yet only one of them is good enough (yedlin came in due to injury to Anita) to start in his preferred XI. Clark has been decent at this level but seems to be making more mistakes as the games go on. He's also had to drop his chosen captain several times for poor form. I thought the one thing Rafa would bring was a solid back line, but really it's flaky as fuck. Diame is shocking, even Ritchie is hit and miss. Hayden, Clark & Gayle have been worth the money, the rest though? Not sure.
