  1. Drink driving, driving without insurance, all speeding offences warranting more than 3 points, or continuous offences resulting in driving bans. It is irrelevant whether a driver hits someone, their actions are risking the lives of others. Footballers seem to think they are entitled to drive stupid cars dangerously. The laws of the country are not able to deal with this group of the population so the football authorities should act.
  2. Like I said before the Premier League FA and PFA need to take greater responsibility for the above average number of serious driving offences undertaken by professional footballers. This should be match suspensions, for instance Tevez should have got about 10 games. People have died because of the driving culture that had developed in the football industry.
  3. Pardew did say last September that one of our player's heads had been turned by an agent. He never said who on the record, but the media suggested at the time that it was Cabaye believing he was going to Arsenal.
  4. In my opinion he is planning to sell again.
  5. 3rd best right back at the club, and worse than the player he replaced.
  6. Will be glad to see the back of him. Talented player on his day but has a Michael Owen personality. Probably a more sulky version tbh.
  7. If Thauvin isn't happy at Lille could a Ben Arfa style loan be an appropriate deal?
  8. Not sure of Debuchy on the right wing or Ben Arfa up front. Mental The idea is that Santon and Debuchy do have wing play ability, but can also do a good defensive job doubling up against the Man City widemen. Dummett's inexperience is an issue, but with injuries to Jonas and Haidara, there aren't so many options on the left at the moment, other than the likes of Sammy or Marveaux - which I'd be more worried about. To counter the very defensive wing set up, the plan for Ben Arfa up front would be that he could roam where the action is, go out to the wing and provide link support to Santon and Debuchy to allow them to attack like highly offensive full backs.
  9. He is on the right. Otherwise it would be Dummett Right Back and Yanga mbiwa Left back. Look who is the sharpest now.
  10. With the right side we may be able to catch these out if we are lucky. I would be inclined to go 442 with Debuchy and Santon on the wings and Ben Arfa up front. KRUL DUMMETT COLOCCINI TAYLOR YANGA-MBIWA SANTON SISSOKO CABAYE DEBUCHY BEN ARFA CISSE
  11. The problem, which I think most of the forum are in denial about, is that premier league teams can only have 17 foreign trained seniors. We have 16 so there is only room for one more. I'm not sure our board would sanction any further unless we manage to sell one of the other foreign players. So once we sign our next foreign player, any other foreigners are going to have to come off sales of other foreign players. Looking at the seven English trained players we have, we've got one outstanding, one decent, and one solid backup (Krul, Taylor, elliot) whilst we also have one crock, and three players that feature amongst fan favourites to sell ASAP (Taylor, gosling, Williamson, shola). So to get best out of our squad we need to improve on the English players. Bigiramana? Or are you still talking about over 21? Only counting the players aged 22 and more. Still a couple years where we don't have to worry about Bigiramana.

  13. We need 8 English trained players over the age of 21 to fill our squad. It's the laws of the game. At the moment we have 7,and some of these aren't good enough even as squad players, so we do need to improve our English player recruitment.
  14. To be honest I cannot think of any recent signings other than Obertan and Amalfitano who have been worse than Debuchy. His appalling errors including a one man horror show in the first half against QPR almost got us relegated. It was a good thing Bosingwa was even worse on the day. He can still turn it round though.

OMG that is 10 mins drive from Manchester City
  16. The f*** are you doing with an IFK sig? I follow them as they were the first team my wife and I saw on our honeymoon! The F**** were you doing in Sweden on your honeymoon!!!!! F***ing
  17. Parliament love their Select Committee these days. Any business outrage in the media and they are dragging someone up there to look like they are doing something. If you don't turn up, Bercow can have you arrested. Hence how Mugdock was forced to be there.
  18. Vincent Cable has gone for this. Do not be surprised to see Ashley forced to speak publicly to parliament in the near future.
  19. Read my post in your thread: http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,92060.75.html It shows what the problem is. We've reached the point where to buy a foreign player we have to sell a foreign player, and we are almost at a point where we cant replace Williamson or Gosling unless we buy English or promote from the academy.
  20. Below is our current squad not including those out on long term loans. Homegrown players denoted in brackets, and youth players also in brackets. But what does this actually mean - well we have a squad of 35 players that have at least made our bench, or made first team appearances elsewhere. However, 13 of these remain classified as youth players. These do not count towards the existing squad limits, so at present we have 22 out of 25 squad places filled, plus a decent youth contingent. That still leads us short at prsent. Now we should however assume players are incoming. Gomis and Remy are both looking likely, so that is 24 players. But we have a future problem coming up, we now have only 7 homegrown players. This takes our maximum squad size down to 24, still just about ok. But more problems, we have tried to sell Gosling and Williamson this summer. Taylor has a serious injury. That would allow us a squad of 22 (21) only, we could then not sign anyone outside of England without removing a player. So we couldn't replace Williamson with a foreign defender, unless we want to sell someone else. Amalfitano is an easy sacrifice, and we can probably say the same for Obertan, but after that, who then? Next season, we get two new HG seniors through the academy, Sammy and Dummett. We also have Ferguson back from loan. But the introduction of these is just a reclassification of their squad status, not the strengthening of a weak squad. So once we get our two French strikers done, we need to target the signing of English players to replace our weaker squad players. 1. Krul (HG) 2. Coloccini 3. Santon 4. Cabaye 6. Williamson (HG) 7. Sissoko 8. Anita 9. Cisse 10. Ben Arfa 11. Gouffran 13. Yanga-Mbiwa 15. Gosling (HG) 16. R. Taylor (HG) 17. Amalfitano 18. Jonas 19. Haidara (Yth) 20. Bigirimana (Yth) 21. Elliot (HG) 22. Marveaux 23. Shola Ameobi (HG) 24. Tiote 25. Obertan 26. Debuchy 27. S. Taylor (HG) 28. Sammy Ameobi (Yth) 29. Vuckic (Yth) 33. Good (Yth) 34. Tavernier (Yth) 36. Dummett (Yth) 38. Inman (Yth) 40. Richardson (Yth) 41. Newton (Yth) 42. Alnwick (Yth) 44. Streete (Yth) 49. Campbell (Yth)
  21. Sad for Haidara, but a Geordie coming through the ranks and starting to look a real player can not be overlooked. Even if Dummett is not a world beater, there is the incontrovertible truth that he can in the future become a homegrown player, which will reduce the future need to have to sign an English player at an English premium. Haidara is too old for this. So if both are to have a Newcastle career, they are going to have to shift Santon, either becoming better than him, or by showing us its time to cash in on Santon, or by Santon getting moved to a new position. In fact, the most obvious player to remove and cash in on in a year or so could be Debuchy. But if Santon isn't shifted, Dummett has won.

I was against a permanent signing because he has allegedly raped someone, and therefore signing him would show a lack of respect for the alleged victim. However a loan signing strikes the right balance, it is now up to the player to keep a low profile, show his innocence and prove he is worthy of signing.
  23. 1. Man Utd to win the title. Never underestimate them. 2. Arsenal to miss out on Champions League for the first time in years. 3. John Terry to request a transfer. 4. Frank Lampard to score at least 15 goals. 5. Liverpool take about three months to get going and scrape top 10. 6. Southampton and Villa get a Top 10 finish. 7. Jol sacked first and Fulham to be relegated. 8. Adam Campbell in Top 5 SPL Goals table. 9. 10 NUFC players to go to the World Cup. 10. Kinnear to be gone by Christmas. Club put up for sale again, and will finally be bought next summer after the club secure a top 8 finish.
