Fully supportive of the boycott but I would advise the group to show caution in expecting success from positive responses on forums and social media as this hasn't in the past translated well to the match day crowd. I'm not sure all the demands about Ashley have been fully thought through, for example I'm not sure how Ashley can realistically expect to sell the club in a transparent way due to many commercial and confidentiality sensitivities. Also I don't think Ashley has so little power that he can't get to brush aside fan power. The key I think is to make the club too much time and energy for him and what is required is to completely disrupt the operations of his business so his minions keep coming to him begging for help, or he keeps needing to recruit new minions. So to break Ashley you first need to break Carver and Charnley, and then the snakes he replaces them with. Book out the Sports Direct AGM with Newcastle fans. Eventually the hassle won't be worth the money to him and he will sell.

I'm sure Advocaat would have taken the job until the end of the year, rather than them, and we would have been fine. Uninspiring but for one season only, fine.

Where's this c*** going to find a further FIVE years of employment? He's never walking out. McLaren will work with him and keep him on. Probably why we are reportedly pushing for him so hard. It's obviously why Garde wouldn't come. Can hardly blame him. To be fair I doubt any of us can barely imagine the horror Charnley felt when that madman Garde said at the interview that he would strategically rotate a few players whilst trying to have a cup run and get into the Europa League. How could such a nutter risk almost certain relegation?
  4. This game will make Sterling appreciate what he has at Liverpool

Even if we can't get another manager for the rest of the season, give someone else a go to make the decisions. Dave Watson might be worth a punt.

He could take us down 9 from 7 games is not unknown at the bottom of the table.
  7. I gave up at half time, already decided this would be my last game I'd watch this season unless we get in severe relegation shit

I honestly think we would be 5 or 6 points better off with Pardew, it is that bad!
  9. I take it you don't know the minosa/Sissoko context? I agree with the post that started this particular argument. The man could not give a solitary shite about the club and that is reflected in his wank performances post-Jan But but but but Alan Smith. As if it isn't a relevant point. It's a measure of the worth in your opinion on footballers. I'm not sad enough to trawl your posts tbh but I'm sure you've said some stupid shit on here (other than your defence of Sissoko). I think we've got a whole 14 or 15!other players to worry about before we need to think about Sissoko

He could resign at this point, apologise to the players and fans and launch a stinging attack on Mike Ashley and Lee Charnley and he could leave his post with some kind of respect. Anything else is just short term survival with no end credibility.
  11. Don't mind Jones playing because we know he will give every ounce of his being for us. Gouffran though, urgh

We can't even claim to be balancing the books better than other teams now.

To be honest I never understand why it is acceptable for a footballer to spit on the floor. Is there a physiological justification for this? The kids of today are copying the likes of Ronaldo.

To be honest the club were making him play with a dodgy knee so he has made a good decision to get himself suspended.
  15. Am fully expecting Sherwood to get his first win
  16. I think the article found that it was not immediately after the Europa league games that points were lost, rather it was the Thursday Sunday schedule that led to missed rest days, additional time away from families etc that can grind players down over a season.
  17. If you get in nice and early there is some match day parking at Asda next door. Traffic gets bad close to the match though. Away from the redeveloped land though as said above it is rough, more rough than where they used to be. An alternative to parking close is to park in the Ashton area maybe pretend to go shopping in ikea, and get the tram, but you may have to queue to get on the tram after the match.
  18. My hypothetical future babies will be born in the grounds of the former Maine Road due to the wife's ambition to have a home birth. It's clearly going to be a reincarnation of some Citeh super fan.
  19. I can't actually think of a system that accommodates all of our attacking players when fit and works
  20. A three man midfield in my opinion needs three components A defensive midfielder, able to break up play, physically impose themselves in the game, and distribute the ball sensibly. The two players we have here are Tiote and Abeid, while Anita and Colback are some way short of fulfilling this role. A central midfielder capable of driving the game forward and giving the attack a fresh impetus. This player can be quite hard to find, but we have one with Sissoko. Dyer was another example. A more cautious central midfielder. This player should be able to support the DM, pass the ball around very effectively, and offer a late arriving goal threat. Gary Speed is the perfect example. One of these CMs needs to be able to take a set piece too, so with the others available for this role it needs to be in this position. So who gets this role, Anita or Colback? The answer is neither are good enough. Give Abeid that role, flog Tiote and Anita and buy a much better DM and we would have a great midfield.
  21. At least if Pardew comes back in the summer when Palace sack him he won't be able to play 4 left backs at once.
  22. I wish him well, it is a good time for him to go to be honest. If we were to balance out the squad a left back for a centre back seems a good rebalance, if we get those centre backs one day.....
