Now has a BBC blog diary talking about his injury. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16116940.stm Hi, I'm Steven Taylor...

Krul Simpson Coloccini Santon Taylor Gosling Cabaye Jonas Ben Arfa Ba Shola

Thought it best to mention this here than elsewhere. I was at the Norwich vs Man City game yesterday. The Gary Speed moment before the match was very emotional and impeccably observed by Norwich fans, but for some reason a Man City steward decided to wade in and stop fans applauding with their hands above their heads.

Unbelievably sad. Hope you rest in peace Gary.

Even in this very game, Rooney, Evra. This was only a light dose of Karma, am hoping for a heavier dose in the future.
-
He was encouraged to bulk up by past regimes which hindered him. He is starting to find his potential when he lost weight, so I can see what Ronaldo is saying.
-
I don't know if it is him or one of his staff, but he is undone the 'bulk up' philosophy of several former managers. Guthrie, Simpson, Taylor, and even Shola have all slimmed down and benefitted from it, and other players that we have brought into the team are of a much slighter build than we would have seen before.
-
He wasn't booked for that, or for pushing the referee.
-
Lawro just said the linesman should have gone to specsavers. Bitter.
-
I want to know why he took his mask off.
-
Not. Pisses all over Bobby and KK. Not sure like. We played Champions League under both of them and challenged for the title under both of them at least for a while. If Pardew gets us into European football again (Europe league will count), I'll agree with you. I think he will. Just think it's too early to say. No we didn't. We didn't? Dalglish and Robson.
-
Worth talking about. The ball is 3 yards away and Rooney kicks out full whack at a prone Coloccini in anger. Then Ben Arfa gets booked. He should have been off and the game should have been much different.
-
Unbelievable. We were lucky to score but unlucky to concede too.
-
Rooney should be off. He kicked Coloccini full whack when the ball was about three yards away.
-
Great first half performance. Obertan, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Krul, Coloccini, Steven Taylor, Ryan Taylor and Guthrie all been very good and everyone else OK. Rooney should be off (and in a police station) for his hideous assault on Coloccini.

Very dark clouds and a little bit blowy

I met my girlfriend on 20th August on the night we beat the Mackems, and we were unbeaten in the league since. We went through a rocky patch during the Man City game, but we are back together now and stronger than ever so Newcastle will not lose today.

For those who missed it yesterday: A through ball is played to Aguero who is 40 yards away from goal and 15 yards offside. Everyone in the ground knows it is offside. Aguero hasn't touched the ball, he hesitates at first but continues because he hasn't heard the whistle and chases the ball. Our defence had stopped assuming offside and Aguero is now a long way ahead. Yaya Toure runs through our defence and towards the ball and nearly catches Aguero. He is onside. Aguero touches the ball, linesman sticks up his flag. If he had noticed Toure and left it for him it would have been the two of them versus Krul. Completely farcical.

Not going to join the Taylor bandwaggon bashing over today. If your team only has 25% possession then defenders are going to buckle and make mistakes eventually. Those mistakes are just a testament to Man City to be honest.

Lack of options? No matter who we put there, it's going to be a case of square peg/round hole since we have no natural right wingers fit. Pardew will look for maximum defensive-protection, so it will be between Santon, Guthrie and Gosling I think - can't see Ben Arfa getting a look in as he doesn't have the work-rate to play that role. Out of the three, Santon would be the most sensible option since he's a natural wide player. Fair enough, just wondered if it was something Pardew had hinted at. I'll be very surprised if it is Santon tbh. Also Santon started his career at right wing and is apparently competent and has played in all wide positions.

That is for 10 years. He thinks they would do it for 2-3 years at 20-25 a season (man city more expensive because of being the better team) until HERS shut up. For the interest of hoodwinkling everyone it would be different abu dhabi companies for each team. Probably bullshit though. Continuing from the fair play theories, could someone not wanting to play by these rules sponsor us first, then buy us a year later and HERS be unable to dispute the deal.
-
Apparently UEFA are not going to allow Man City's income to include their new sponsorship deal because it is clearly money coming from the owners and excessive when considering the market rates. My Man City housemate reckons they are looking to sponsor a few other clubs to set the new market rate so UEFA can not dispute the market price.
