    Potential loanees

The players I'd look at are: Left backs: Gibbs (Arsenal) Armand Traore (Arsenal) Fabio (Man Utd) Centre Backs: Jack Cork (Chelsea) Hutchinson (Chelsea) Ben-Haim (Man City) Dervitte (Spurs) Right Backs: Gilbert (Arsenal) Right Wing: Rose (Spurs) Dos Santos (Spurs) Left Wing: Bouazza (Fulham) Central Midfield: Merida (Arsenal) Lansbury (Arsenal) Baxter (Everton) Gibson (Man Utd) Boateng (Spurs) Bostock (Spurs) Strikers: Barazite (Arsenal) Simpson (Arsenal) Vaughan (Everton) Anichebe (Everton) Obviously it will depend on who stays and goes, but I'd look at: Ben-Haim - good no nonsense defender who has been stuck in reserves due to bad luck recently Bouazza - unwanted in the Premier League, but a good Championship winger with experience of promotion pushes Dos Santos - speedy striker who can double up on the wing Merida - midfield creativity. We would then line up like: Krul Simpson Taylor Ben-Haim Enrique Guthrie Smith Merida Dos Santos Bouazza Carroll or in an ideal world anyway...
  2. Well we are officially on the loan market that is now clear. Am I right in thinking 5 loans are allowed? Anyhow, who would be on your loan shortlist, and which four would you try to go for?
  3. My worry is that we are selling a large chunk of the goals we score this season.
  4. Taylor will be very good in the Championship, but I'm not sure he'll be half as good as Lescott. Although some of his defending looks good on the TV, and he doesn't make too many obvious mistakes, his performances are often described as Hollywood, for while they look flash as an individual, he is generally leaving a hole in the defence that will put the other defender - the defender that will always get blamed by the fans and the press - under pressure. Over the past few years, his defensive partners have generally looked better and more composed when Taylor doesn't play. Having said that however, we'd be silly not to hold out for silly money if Moyes thinks he can replace Lescott.

    Jonas to Pompey?

    Don't think he did...

    Mark Viduka

If you mean a Tino in that he didn't get the money he was promised so scarpered, yes.

    Jonas to Pompey?

Portsmouth can't afford anything right now. Have none of you clocked that the real reason Viduka hasn't turned up is that he hasn't received the money. Having said that I'd take Nugent over Jonas in terms of what this club needs any day.

    RIP sale thread.

I'd be hugely surprised if a new manager would be announced the day of a match. Keegan was iirc.
  9. He's about four years older than the NUFC alternative, and has won this division before.
  10. Its how loan deals work in this league. Get them until February, and then extend the deal before the loan deadline ends.
  11. By the way, it's not like a Rossi, Fergie knows this guy will never make it at Manyoo and needs to put him on the shop window.
  12. Dazza has left the forum. Simpson's a good proven right back in this league who has managed a promotion and is probably desperate to secure a deal somewhere.
  13. Duff, Krul, Carroll, Jonas, Shane Ferguson and Geremi would all have been unavailable for selection, leaving us with no senior wingers, and no decent striker. Not like this isn't going to happen later in the season And if Kadar, Ranger, LuaLua or Vuckic do well this season we'll probably be without them too.
  14. Can one of the admin change his name to Ameobi23? Try that for fucking style. Mine's better. Good one
  15. Oh my god. Isn't that all we can do though? This league is inferior (Stephen Carr got promoted FFS), so we are all in the process of watching how the team perform at this level and adjust our mindset as to what is and what isn't good enough. It will take a while to fully establish what a good player is and what a good player isn't at this level. Basically, if it wasn't for the wages, these players should get a clean slate for this season. However as it looks like no replacements will come in regardless, I don't really care that wages are burning Ashley's pockets. Serves him right.
  16. Would depend on whether we looked likely to keep three of Nolan, Butt, Barton, Geremi and Guthrie. There are players who can do what Smith can, even though I think he's the best of the lot in this league, but Duff won't be replaceable.
  17. We aren't playing in the Premier League Dave.
  18. We'd be selling the 12-15 goals that will get us back promoted. Krul, Taylor, Enrique, Smith, Duff and Carroll are the six players we must definitely keep if we want to get promoted without having to fork out decent money on new players.
  19. Shit, was hoping we'd keep hold of him.
  20. According to the Bib Theory Ben Tozer is Starting They don't look like training match photos.

    Shola Ameobi

He wasn't that bad last week like. Didn't do much wrong. Lets wait to see what he can do with a better supply line.
