Fulham starting to look scared. Bring Owen on, make them more scared.

We've got Gutierrez. We need Shearer, Robert, Solano and Speed. and Woodgate, Bellamy, Batty.... Point stands though, playes like Dyer and Jonas are great to have when there are decent players around them, and the pace and running on the ball of either player would help other quality players do their stuff. We don't have those players, with the exception of Owen, Colo, Barton and Beye.

Dyer never had much end product, but his runs would draw players out of position, creating openings for the likes of Solano and Robert to exploit and find Shearer or Bellamy.

Cacapa had a good game at Fulham last season...

At the moment, he seems to be learning and responding to what he's seen happen on the pitch, unlike say Allardyce who made the same mistakes over and over again. I'd give him until the end of the season, but I'm not sure I'd want to see him taking control of transfers.

Yeah, but Setanta, BBC and the rags won't draw attention to fact. They like to attack Newcastle. Unfairly, preferably...... And of course a team at the bottom of the league, SHOULD have a far higher attendance than a team in the Champs League and topping the Prem... The BBC and the rags should interview you James....they'd LOVE you. From what I can see, some NUFC fans seem to think it as bragging rights that NUFC are beating Liverpool on attendances, when in fact due to stadium capacities, it is completely irrelevant.

Really don't get this argument: Liverpool are selling out their home allocation, which happens to be less than who go to Newcastle who have a bigger stadium. Hardly bragging rights, especially as Liverpool give attendances based on people at the game whereas we apparently do it on tickets sold.

Why would Given want to go from 14th place Newcastle to rock bottom Tottenham?

Carew despite his height and obvious physical appearance isn't quite the straight forward centre-forward you'd imagine. He's a very good player technically and has a bit of variety to his game so while you think height = good in the air, and huge frame = strong as fuck it doesn't always mean you're guaranteed to get this from him at all times or indeed such a proposition from these centre-forwards. I actually enjoyed their tussle tonight as Carew was also looking to suss out Coloccini but thankfully and this is down to our lad, to no avail. How do you handle a technically proficient, mobile and physical centre-forward in good form? There is no text book solution really, you deal with it on the day in your own way and that's what Coloccini did - expertly in his own style. All of which Colo should know from playing against him before. I'm not slating Colo, he's been mostly good apart from a couple of adaptability issues, but people are over analysing him in my opinion.

He's played against Carew several times, and Carew has always been an aerial/technical threat.

Colo shouldn't have needed to 'learn' Carew tbf.
