I think this thread has now reached the shark jumping point with bad puns and discussion about Scottish politics. only a matter of time before someone suggests we lock this thread.

August could go very well or very badly with away games at Brighton and Wolves at a time of the season where if I recall right from previous years they have been in their best form.

As good as Targett is, this reminds us that he is still only the second best left back at the club

I’m just waiting for the day that Lee Stewart renounces Man Utd and comes back to NUFC

shame I think he would have made a good number 2 here and filled a much need homegrown squad space for a few years

Now we’ve seen Willock, Shelvey and Longstaff all get a go playing alongside Bruno, who has done best?

How many times do I have to repeat this. it’s gardening leave. There is no way to buy him out if Brighton don’t want him to go ahead of time. Ashworth knows all their transfer priorities. If they have uncovered a player in the French lower division who has a £1m release clause becoming active in the summer, and they believe he is the next Kante and can be sold in 3 seasons for £60m, then Ashworth being gagged is worth £59m at least to them.

I thought we’d have to accept relegation, regardless of manager, so for us to get to enough points a few weeks ago shows to me that he is probably one of the best performing managers in the world this season

Expect this transfer window to be unexpected

My preference is to sell. We can’t rely on him as our first choice striker due to his injury record. Then if he was the cover, we can’t rely on him to be fit if the first choice striker is injured.
-
thing is you have named three players who are playing better than he has in 2022.
-
playing the next two games with us is what he needs, give him a chance when he is brimming with confidence and match fitness and whilst we aren’t panicking about results.

Is he allowed to play against Arsenal and Burnley now? Feel he’d be a better alternative to ASM for those two pressure free games
