  1. I think if the PL said no the Government would close the PL down
  2. Bruce will probably not check the league table and go all out defence

I’m guessing the role is more attractive than it was after Rafa left How so? Last time around the managers would have had to consider: Living up to Benitez and reputation all damage if they don’t No prospect of a takeover any time soon A side with no strikers who were about to splurge £60m on a striker and winger that Rafa didn’t want I think those three major red flags are not as severe as they were at that moment

    Jeff Hendrick

I’m really struggling to understand the concept of him in an AC Milan shirt
  6. Malcolm MacDonald has written an article in the Chronicle slagging off Bruce and Hendrick. You can tell that the penny has finally dropped.
  7. That's absolutely not what happened I skipped the bit about Rocker for simplicity
  8. Mimms hinted that someone has been told to leave. Penn subsequently disclosed that Mimms PM’d someone who PM’d Penn for some bizarre reason (some real losers here). The implication is that PIf have told Ashley to sack Bruce
  9. Also Bruce was supposedly told this week that there was no transfer budget. Either we just told him that as he’s getting the boot and didn’t want to waste time entertaining his targets, or the club can’t afford transfers in which case need to consider whether another manager can eke out better performances
  10. Have to remember the context that the media laid into Bruce this week, called him the Trump of football managers and he even had to respond to this in the press conference. I thin even without a takeover that would make Ashley twitchy after what happened with Schteve
  11. It’s going to be 442 with Hendrick on the right isn’t it? Bruce reverting to what worked in a couple of games. Think we will actually win due to no Zaha but it won’t be pretty
  12. it's the same "philosophy" Souness and Pardew had. Take no responsibility and say the players should be able to work it out themselves. Then gan radge when anyone asks what the point of them is then. Pardew and Souness’ philosophy is light years ahead of Bruce to be quite honest.
  13. Stein or Patterson must be on here often then with that joke Thanks guys for all you are doing!
  14. Good stuff Greg, and well done on your appointment but I fear it will all be swept under the carpet. My biggest concern right now is Steve Bruce and the worry he could break any progress that may or may not be made towards a beneficial takeover for all parties. I don’t think I’m alone in that view so how does that voice get heard if we can’t go to stadiums and the media won’t listen? If it was down to me I’d probably organise a virtual town hall on the subject with a handful of press invited to attend and observe, try to get the message out there that the fan base is very worried.
  15. Didn’t Shepherd say he sacked Souness because all the players were just bumping into each other in the middle of the pitch?
  16. You're having a laugh - I call my father old timer. It's a term of affection - they were actually pretty decent posters when not drivelling on about Shepherd. It wasn’t just that phrase the whole post just reeked of the superiority of youth. FWIW Manorpark has been posting on this forum for 13 years and whilst I have been aware of his existence until now I can’t really remember any particularly strong opinions on anything. Opinions on whatever are always kept where they are meant to be, on threads about the subject. Compare that to NE5, you’d be talking about Darren Ambrose scoring for Charlton and then suddenly the thread would be taken nicer by chain quotes about the board, with plenty of thrown in
  17. Equally no problem with manorpark In fact the ageist remark from Raconteur was quite unpleasant
  18. CMA have just fined Compare the Market £18m for colluding with insurers to prevent lower insurance prices being advertised on other platforms. It’s not specifically relevant to us but is shows the extent of power that can be wielded, it’s not about compensating the fans, the rulings and fines can be pretty major if unfair practice is identified.
