  1. By the way, we aren't doing pre-match, during-match, post-match threads this season, as people didn't like the fact that they couldn't reply to something for the mere reason that the game had kicked off or ended. So this thread is a thread for the whole game.
  2. I'd really like to see another club approach West Ham, and go "Carlos Tevez. 10 million pounds. Yes or No?"
  3. Its just that this rumour isn't worth the time of day.
  4. Nope, not a patch, but the shell would get it. Like I said, not the best pic, type in Ursula Andress, and you only get pictures from THAT beach scene in Dr. No.
  5. There are better film stills in which they look similar, but I cant find them: http://www.nndb.com/people/897/000023828/ursula1-sized.jpg
  6. Very OT, but does anyone else think that Hayden Pantierre looks a lot like Ursula Andress?

    Club Captain

New discussable development, nothing wrong here. If you don't like it, go somewhere else. Tbh, it could be merged with the 7 page "Club Captian" thread. It could also go in the Owen commits long term future thread. No point merging every single thread for having a minor relation to something else. Subject to the contents of the article, this thread has a much different slant to the two aforementioned threads. Threads: "Club Captian" and "Owen: I want to be Captain" are only slightly related? They are related, but there isa very different slant. This thread ismore about Owen's commitment to the club than the issue of club captaincy. Lots of different issues to discuss: What will happen if he doesn't get it? Should he be signing a new contract? Would he make a good captain? Is this a long term commitment to the club?

As far as I was aware, your poll was just a piss take, on not on any level based on the contents of any article. apart from being an article about the realistic captain choices, and a poll listing those choices? Realistic with Deco as an option?

All very well, but I'd like to think that a captain had a long term commitment through the good and bad, and he would really need to agree to a clause-less contract if that was the case.
  13. Yup, I'm backing him to have a decent season this year. Depends on the formation, rotation and probably the form of Viduka but I can see him up around 15 goals this season. ameobi? Excellent goal ratio since he first got a serious look in from January 2006. If he gets enough regular spells on the pitch, he will get enough goals. but he wont score goals. he's never scored goals consistently in the past and that'll never change. the less games he plays for us the better. Form since January 2006 would suggest otherwise. how many games has he played since January 2006? 12 goals in 29 competitive starts with a crocked hip. An excellent ratio, up there with the best at this club over recent seasons. Although I doubt that will stop the continuation of your ridiculous vendetta which obviously has nothing to do with football. the way you said "since January 2006" was rather misleading as he hasnt played for large periods of the last year, so its only really half a season. if you want to judge him on that half a season then feel free to, ill judge him on the other 200 times where he's done hardly anything. plus, how can my view point have nothing to do with football? i dont know him personally so care to explain that further? The other 200 hundred times obviously being when he was making 15 minute substitute appearances, playing on the left wing, or generally being expected to play the part of Shearer's dogsbody. Only since Roeder took charge was he allowed to play a goalscoring role within the team. And if 29 games cannot be considered a full season what can? If it can only be considered a half season, the 12 goals can only be considered as outstanding. Like I say, you clearly have an irrational vendetta against Shola that cannot cease to end. If it was football related, you'd be willing to give him a chance. I'm guessing you're too stubborn to admit that you were wrong.

  17. Yeah, if there were any cameras at the match (I'm sure Sam would have made sure of it), the goals'll be on SSN and Newcastle World tommorrow morning.
  18. Game isn't televised, and not many fans went, new players and new manager - bound to be one of the busiest games of the season on here in my opinion.
  19. Good start to pre-season. Sounds like Carroll, Dyer, Shola, Troisi, Owen and Barton can in particular be pleased with their input, although obviously no-one is up to Premiership standard yet.
  20. Good experience for all the youngsters to be honest, what with established internationals on the same team.

    Fraser Forster

Considering Krul starts ahead of him, I'm guessing that Forster is the fourth best keeper at the club.
