  1. More recent, but gatecrashing Andi Peters
  2. Also the research that the club did demonstrating that cup runs equal relegation
  3. Official NUFC Statement: September 6 NUFC wished, at all times, to keep any dispute that it had with Kevin Keegan private. It is therefore disappointing that information has reached the media through unnamed sources and a briefing has been given by the League Managers Association that could give rise to a misleading impression amongst the Club's fans. Newcastle United have no desire to engage in a war of words but inaccurate reporting of factual matters and inaccurate allegations have to be corrected. It is a fact that Kevin Keegan, on appointment on 16th January 2008, agreed to report to a Director of Football and to the Board. It is a fact that Kevin Keegan worked within that structure from 16th January 2008 until his resignation. It is a fact that Kevin Keegan, as manager, had specific duties in that he was responsible for the training, coaching, selection and motivation of the Team. It is a fact that Kevin Keegan was allowed to manage his specific duties without any interference from any Board member. It is a fact that Kevin Keegan agreed only to deal with the media in relation to Club matters relating to the Team and not to communicate with the media in relation to the acquisition or disposal of players. It is a fact that NUFC is a business and operates, like all businesses, with financial constraints. It is a fact that NUFC's financial constraints inform its transfer dealings. The Board of NUFC have responsibility to ensure that the club is able to meet its commitments which include the wages and the transfer fees for players. The structure at NUFC is clear, and has been clear from 16th January 2008.
  4. I just hope that they don’t have to do the same criminal records checks that nurses do because there is a one month backlog.
  5. A few things to think about: 1. Do you know that she is not sending letters to other businesses, or is it just selective media reporting? 2. Do you think she genuinely expects a positive outcome, or are letters more a case of keeping her campaign, rightly, in the media? 3. What would you do if your partner was murdered by another state?
  6. Man some of these new members are Mini-Lee Stewarts. Is it really open season for new accounts?
  7. An American consortium called REM have taken over and can’t cancel their Telegraph subscription
  8. Can we change thread title to R.E.M. Confirm Takeover of Thread or something like that please

    Kevin Keegan

Do you think Rafa would want Keegan around the place? I'm not convinced by the Keegan story. It sounds like the kind of thing that would get made up. If true, I think it would be a mistake to detract any attention from the manager, who will be trying to make his own history. And of course the minute anything goes slightly wrong, there's going to be a crazy section shouting for KK to take over. Rafa has worked at a number of clubs were ex-players and managers are doing ambassadorial duties behind the scenes. It’s no big deal in fact it’s something that anyone should expect from any prestigious club
  10. Gullit wasn’t the best manager but has always by his actions come across as a very honourable man
  11. Perhaps for every letter Skirge should send the PL a pic of his dog in a tea towel
  12. ‘Shell’ sounded like an unofficial spokesman for the deal in her latest thread.
  13. probs aye, plus CRB requests or whatever they're called don't come next day i suppose You would hope the CRB checks aren’t going through the standard route, my wife is involved in temporary NHS recruitment and says that CRB checks are running about a month behind due to demand
  14. There is no need for Charnley to have a physical presence for any handover, he can do it all working from home I’d imagine unless he is the only one with keys
  15. Fuck, I felt something. Following a takeover is a lot like making love to a beautiful woman You think it's going to happen and then ultimately it never does? Thinking you are about to pull out then splurging all those millions
  16. I don’t think Never go Back applies for us with Rafa cos we never went forward.
  17. Wraith probably thinks he’ll be made chairman and has to be central to any meeting
  18. Welcome back. I’m sure it will all be OK until Dave comes back.
  19. Trinity Mirror are going to have to do something about Ryder if we become one of the elite clubs, they can’t have him representing them and us on the world stage!
  20. With Raf you can expect rigidity and discipline. That doesn’t mean defensive football but it does mean that defence is prioritised, scorelines are quite narrow, a few too many draws, and some players having offensive instinct curtailed. I’m fine with that.
