We either pay them what we want or move on. We can't be faffing around right now.
-
Another win. This time on the road. Still 5 points off Liverpool Feds in first but a game in hand.

As predicted he has played out of his skin for the new manager. Makes him look average again. We are probably starting to see the usual gradual decline into laziness. Desperately need to sign a DM so we can drop shelvey and play willock or almiron through the middle as AM, where they are most effective.

Guess rafas sacking means the end the longstaff exit talk. Maybe we can loan him somewhere. Scared we somehow don't seem to be worried about getting a couple of CMs in. Hopefully it will happen, it's just not been highlighted in the press as much as other positions.

He combined ok with trippier but it was like he was supposed to come inside and open up space for trippier. He works hard and gets stuck in but he comes across like a shitter but pacier Matt Ritchie. Think alot of it is to do with his role, whatever that is, probably not aided by the shite central midfield we have.

People are getting naturally and understandably jumpy given our predicament and how much staying up means to our swift progress as a club. I just can't see changing managers helping the situation at all regardless of who they bring in. While there are mistakes like keeping Dummett on a full game when he wasn't fit enough, It's the players letting Howe down imo. For the owners to put so much faith in Howe they have to give him the season at least, if not next year in the championship. He is still building "his team" and ethos admist unhelpful comments from leaders in the squad like Hayden about players not going to leave if they are pushed. The core of this club is rotten and needs gutting and replacing. It takes time in most new jobs though regardless of the industry. It was widely accepted he had an uphill battle with some saying impossible when he took over. This transfer window was and is everything and it's not his fault if we don't get what is needed in. I'm gutted we haven't shown the earlier progress continue in an offensive nature. The limitations and attitude of our spine has beaten any renewed confidence along with wretched refereeing/var. If we replace the midfield and central defence with leadership and quality, we still have a chance. It's a very awkward place to be buying players when it looks more likely we go down.
-
Just bring him in to help sort out the defence lol Denmark coach is odds on favourite. Why would he give up the world cup opportunity? Lampard and Rooney odds on behind! Reckon they are mad enough to do a Rooney/Big Dunc. Combo. Lampard would also jump on it. Might do enough this year with manager bounce to keep them up but would be rancid long term.

Fuck. Next week is going to be fun.

We are good at dragging teams to our level. It will be a shite game. They will still be all over us.
-
Poor rafa. Poor decision to go there to begin with. Be shocked if he isn't back here this time next season.

Allan Saint-Maximin (now playing for Fenerbahce, on loan from Al-Ahli)

He wasn't alone today, especially in the first half. Everyone was over thinking everything when we had the ball. Any chance to attack quickly was ruined by dallying then passing sideways, backwards or simply passing to the opposition. I'm glad we played through trippier and Fraser, although the latter seems to have lost the ability to beat a man. We still rely too much ASM doing something magical. He left Dummett exposed pretty much all game and while Joe did a good job covering ground, he should have to. -
Can we just join the Saudi league instead?
-
Just can't believe it's the same player that looked like fulfilling potential and pushing for and England call up under rafa. He is an absolute shambles and liability. He has lost his head. In a team we have needed our leaders to step up, players like him and Hayden have fallen to pieces, hidden or made things worse.
-
Find threads for half of our squad and repost. Ironic Benitez will probably end up managing them in the Championship.
-
Thought if I went away for a few hours I would calm down or find some optimism again but I'm absolutely gutted. Feel completely defeated. We looked out of ideas, scared and confidence through the floor. Must have passed earth's core today. Players can't rely on each other and they won't have anything but a defeated and pissed off crowd soon. Only hope is some new players coming that can turn things around, still we need luck when the club seems absolutely cursed. We simply never look like scoring.
-
Was good in general. Knackered by the 70th and looked really slow which is probably more match fitness and tough with ASM leaving so much space.
-
CB CM Striker Is the barest of minimums. Ideally two CMs with one being a DM, two CBs and a LB. We are in the shit. Massively.
-
Aye. Might as well buy young talent or experience that might save us or will certainly make us strong enough to go up next year.
-
Reckon he will be back when we go down.
-
Think it's more whether the club is ready to spend millions just to loose all the players and money with release clauses in the summer.
-
Absolute disaster of a result yet again but it could have been worse. The players are scared, they over think absolutely everything and now we are tuned into switching off and conceding late as a habit. The first half was horrific, we were managed by watford and any chance of a break we are overthinking and spending top much time on the ball. Inevitably going back or missing the opportunity. We are looking worse and more clueless in attack with every game now. 21 points dropped from winning positions this year is inexcusable. It's a team that is getting relegated. Pay Lille and sevilla what they want. I don't want to see lascelles play again. Seething. (I had to watch on a delay so haven't had time to think rationally yet)

Encouraging to see us still linked with left back options. Could still see an entirely new backline this window!

Newcastle United vs Watford: 15/01/22 @ 3pm (No UK TV)

All mentality. While the Cambridge game and being out of the cup could turn out to be a blessing, I think we all would be confidently buzzing had we won that game. It was a real gut shot and shakes confidence that these players mentally have what it takes to get the necessary points under pressure. Fingers crossed as usual. HTL.
