Looked slower than he should. Yorkie has it pretty spot on. Unfortunately the best bet we have in that position tbh. He has been out of the side so long I think some continued time there will only help him grow in confidence and hopefully remember how to shoot properly. It's the best we can hope for :*(

Absolutely no worse than anyone else. Agenda much? Absolutely no worse than anyone else. Agenda much? He was average on the occasions he tried and did get stuck in a few times. Also looked a bit half arsed and stood still at other times. Hit but mainly miss. Confidence is clearly low which is no surprise given his form all season and being out of the side last game and bench this game. Might be agenda but from my standpoint he did stick out a little at the times he wasn't looking arsed as everyone else was working hard constantly.

Just glad he isn't vancouver's wage problem anymore.

Oh shit. That's terrible. One of the better MLS managers there has been and very likeable.
-
Think that was his best performance this season.he could actually control the ball and got himself out of tight spaces dribbling. Definitely in favor of keeping him there. More games will only help him settle and grow in confidence.

Can reboot their season and back on track with a morale boosting win against us. Imagine how much losing to our youth would dismantle it further!

Also where is the call for the header leading to the goal.shocking stuff really. We have been more competitive than I thought. -

Liverpool play their best football in the last 35 mins. Can see us crumbling when the 2nd goes in. -

Can't argue with Fulham getting a point. We never deserved three. Zero quality in the final third. Rondon and others to be fair working their arses off but no one capable of scoring. -

What the heck is up with this performance. Some or the more creative and exciting play we have seen this year combined with some of the most nervous and at time nonscelant and ridiculously sloppy play. As Jekyll and hyde as it comes. Diame has been beastly at opposite ends of the scale and he is not alone. Need to calm the fuck down and think a bit more. -
Exactly what I was thinking today. Weren't we talking 20m for him last summer. Barely worth 10 at the moment and is having a laugh if he thinks he will get minutes at Chelsea. Hope he can turn it around. It's not happening covering LB or LWB though.

Very positive about this if it actually happens. Still not convinced we will sort a deal out and get him here. He is talented no doubt. Have to hark back to Hatem to see a player as skilled coming in. Prepare to watch us actually sign him and Rafa keep him on the bench until April just to bed him in

The one from Serie A years ago? Yep moved to the MLS while still in the Italian team and 27, turning down Juve and Arsenal in the process. So probably hope he is mental enough to come here. An absolute wizard still though.

Various: Mike Ashley in talks with Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan

Well no, Stiffs told us its Staveley. -
I have watched a fair bit of him on tv. On an excitement scale its a 7. He is talented no doubt but untested in a really top league. He is definitely better than what we have. 1.MLS is more championship standard IMO. Weaker in many areas but stronger in others. The league is improving every year. It is light years ahead of where it was when I moved to North America 10 years ago. 2. He is definitely stronger than he looks good on the ball, clever and can hold it up. 3. He can take set pieces and get them on target. A bonus. He can create space and also work and create key passes and set up play without it. Goal keeping is the biggest difference between the leagues, there is some horrific keeping in the MLS. 4. He has the skill level and does have pace. I'm not worried there. 5. He would play AM most likely, replacing Perez. Definite upgrade imo. 6. I'd hope for nearer 18m but it is a crazy market. Alphonso Davies (just turned 18) just went to Bayern for 17m (his potential is scary though even if he is rough round the edges). I can understand Atlanta putting Almiron in a similar bracket, he has had a stonking season on the goal and creating side. I would have preferred Davies but Almiron at 24 is a much more rounded player and in the position we desperately need.

Been there done this. I look forward to the same excuses for not spending money in January and the consequences. -
Literally the best collective set of central defenders I can remember us having. Great competition. I think 3 at the back is a formality. Rafa has talked about it. Dubs Schar Fernandez Lejune Yedlin Shelvey Diame Ki Kennedy Muto/Ritchie Rondon Should probably give Perez more love.
-
Lejeune and Fernandez I would like to see. Not sure about the lack of pace though. I think the depth and experience will be a blessing for lascelles he needs a bit of time off the pitch imo. He has had a ton of pressure on his shoulders and while being the captain has certainly added to his game it has also taken away a bit of time to learn without such pressure.
-
What a hero this guy is. Schar had a great game too but Fernandez was a different level again today.
-
Fine coming Charlie Austin's way. Cracking interview. Hard not to laugh as his voice gets higher and higher. Speaking the truth though.
-
Feck me. What a great competitive game with the result we needed and deserved. We needed those points given other results today. The pressure was on. Some real warrior performances. Schar and Fernandez were roasted for pace but put in some brilliant tackles, blocks and headers. Very impressed. Rondon obviously MOM. A complete performance from him the performance we were assured he was capable of. Can he play consistently like that? Probably not but Hopefully we see some more from him as he regains fitness. Ki again with a really impressive performance in the middle. Calm, composed and very useful. Ritchie and Yedlin combined well again as did dummet and Kennedy to a slightly lesser effect. Still not convinced Kennedy's head is in the right place but a great contribution.
