It's more annoying because we were verging on competitive in the first half. -

Championship team getting beaten by team full of world class players shocker. Very few if any of our players could get a game for arsenal let alone the better club's in the league. -
Apologies. Should have posted the source. https://rokerreport.sbnation.com/2018/9/10/17838896/roker-roundup-sunderland-owner-clears-up-confusion-around-signing-liverpool-striker-liam-millar It's true (the report not what he is saying). Also true that they were 100% in for Liam Miller despite what he says.

Donald clears up confusion "Sunderland had been linked with a move for young Liverpool striker Liam Millar for most of the summer but despite Stewart Donald confirming our interest in the player during a Roker Rapport podcast back in July, no move had materialised and he continued to appear for Liverpool’s youth teams: I don’t think it’s officially gone through. He was someone that was on our list and we were expecting him to sign. However in Stewart’s latest appearance on the podcast, which you can listen to HERE, Donald cleared up the confusion and admitted that the rumoured move for the Canadian international was only down to an error on his behalf: Now, I might have got the wrong Liam when we were talking. When we were talking about a Liam, I was looking at a Liam on Merseyside and we were signing a lad from Liverpool and Everton (Jordan Hunter and Jack Bainbridge) and I’ve got my names confused there. We were looking at a lad called Liam something and a lad called Miller something and when you said Liam Millar to me, I used the first name of one and the second name of the other. So I’ve got that wrong." Huh. So might have got it wrong might not.

Will always appeal to a section of fans in the way vinny jones did at Leeds and Wimbledon. Pretty much 50/50 with him for me. He was pretty hit and miss for Joey here and not hugely dissimilar to shelvey although if much rather the latter every day of the week. He didn't do himself and ergo the club any favours too often on and off the pitch but when he was on he was a game changer imo. We were usually a better side with him in it as like Shelvey he had an eye for a pass and influenced our game. Given his background he has come far and that's a credit to his determination. Like Jones or savage he is a heart on the sleeve character that like savage talks far more than he should. More than the robbie there is method to his madness more than not.

West Ham are almost as gross as we are. Is Nuno Santos actually Jean Tigana in disguise? It's been long enough I will grow a beard, change my name and no one will remember.

Almost forgot this was on today, wish I had completely forgotten. This is the reality of Newcastle under Ashley. Fucking Penance and purgatory. -
Hell of a header. Hopefully he can build on these two goals and bring more confidence to his game. I think the competition with Rondon is good for him.

Back training with the first team in the .co.uk training pics. in the vacant number 16 shirt? Or has he always been training with the first team?

6 at present. Think we will scrape by with rafa but straight down the year after when he goes.

Best player on the park today. Guy is pure class when he is focused.

The decision wasn't taken on the pitch today. There is a list, and he is numer two on it behind Ritchie. For sure, but there is no reason they cant change that at the time seeing the player has no confidence. No different to a substitution. -

Absolutely shuddered when kenedy stepped up. Awful decision to have him take it. He was clearly lacking confidence, especially after piss poor free-kick. Would have been 2 points more than we deserved, even if it's clear we absolutely need every point we can get this year. Can't believe this is basically our best team going into this season. We are absolute dross. Kudos to shelvey today though. -

Hope the Yedlin news is better than expected. He was probably our weakest player and has needed replacing or given real competition for his place. At a normal club that would have happened. As it is we are already in trouble there as he is the best of and absolutely pitiful bunch. Likewise dummett who was slightly better than yedlin. It's only a matter of time until we are playing CBs and wingers at the back. 3-5-2 cometh -
4/10 concurred. Potential 6/10 (if signings actually prosper) The potential wasn't just missed it was abused. While some of.thw signings might work out it looks like we have gone backwards. Certainly in numbers we have but possibly also in terms of quality. That's not just inexcusable it's cutting your nose off to spite your face and Ashley and co. Continue to smell rotten.

Bring on the Free Transfers.... until its confirmed they are all too expensive to sign.
-
If there are no confirmed names today there is no chance we are getting anyone tomorrow. We might sign one tmrw if we are lucky. Absolute fucking shambles and disgrace as usual.
-
Trying for Ings and the Myziane Maolida links might not be that far fetched. Both can play a number of positions upfront or just behind or even out wide. Ings in particular would be fantastic behind Rondon, if we could keep him fit. I think we will get another defender in but thats it.
-
Great signing for us in the Championship and expect him to be the same for West Brom. Unfortunately injuries and low confidence were a factor last year. I think he is a confidence player and that is one trait we can't have. Hope he scores a ton and gets that confidence back.
-
Amazing considering Ashleys stance was completey against loan deals.
-
I dunno. I'd say their crippling wage bill and wasted money on duff that had no interest in either playing well or leaving the club due to their wage has screwed the club over more.
-
Don't believe a word of it. Ings talk or other. If we were to insert a obligation to buy clause it would surely be in Rondons deal. Not sure Nolan is a Rafa type player tbh. I meant more someone that brings a goal threat through the centre more than specifically Nolan. That said maybe Rondon can create more space for Ayoze. Just not convinced by him as a number 10.
-
Fucking woeful as usual. We won't even get all three of those greenlit players in. Still yet another window passes without getting the AM we are desperate for. While we did have a brief flirt with wijnaldum we still haven't bloody replace Kevin Nolan. So much hope.
