Kinnear offered 2.5/3.5 year contract extension
toontownman replied to SUPERTOON's topic in Football
Sets it up perfectly so people will be jumping through hoops when Shearer takes over in the summer or autumn. -
Yep. I'd be pleased if it was him. Seems highly likely. I had hoped for Burdisso but that was a fools dream. Not convinced he would be any use to us at all with the age he is and fitness, but we shall see, certainly would have taken him a couple of years ago, infact I wanted him to come here a couple of years ago. That said the figure given for the loan fee is stupidly high for someone thats nearly 33 and hasnt been playing regularly.

He needed a run out 11 vs 11 before we decided on him. Looks like he will be definatlely be with two more trying to impress though. St. James' Park awaits the arrival of two new signings on loan next week, according to boss Joe Kinnear. The Toon gaffer has revealed that the club will host a behind-closed-doors friendly in which Danish trialist Peter Løvenkrands, and the two mystery men will participate in a bid to earn contracts to sign for the Tyneside club. "We will have them (the potential loan signings) behind closed doors in a training game on Tuesday to see if they come up to scratch because we haven`t actually seen them play," he revealed. "One of them had a long-term injury and I want to see how his fitness is.' "Peter will take part in the game too and we will decide on him after that," added Kinnear. The two mystery loan signings are the subject of a wide array speculation with Kinnear revealing only their nationalities: an Argentine, and an Italian. And yes I know i should probably ban myself for using an article from Vital Football, but they do at least use quotes from Kinnear.

The flip side to the whole spin that it helps transfers is that we might miss out on a few players that were thinking of signing in the knowledge we would be replacing Kinnear in the summer with someone decent. Or is that a little too negative? -

Unless its to quell any questions incoming players might have. Who really wants to listen to what JFK has to say if he will only be in charge another 5 months. -

He is staying until the end of the season anyway. Fact is, if he is as bad as we all think he will be sacked before the end of the season or soon after the next season starts in true Newcastle Fashion. We were never going to appoint anyone else before the end of the season, so what will be will be. Like everyone else I put up with Kinnear with the foolish glimmer of hope he would be replaced in the summer. Everything is always so Volatile at this club things will come to a head or get better sooner or later. -

Joe Kinnears cunting black and white army! Was always going to happen, Roeder mark two, except he wont last as long as Rat Face did, gone by early September. Will be a hard summer after our best players leave along with the majority of supporters, wonder how they expect to attract players when there is nothing positive to offer them. I think we have finally hit our level at least. -
Kinnear Says: Newcastle have made 5million bid for Mbia
toontownman replied to Gash's topic in Football
It keeps some off their backs. TBF one thing it has done is give the press something to write about and divert attention away from the players who are wanting away, which was all they had to write about before. That may have may have been his intention in coming out with all this stuff this week. If so, even if everything he has said is just made up, fair play to him as it makes us look like a buying club rather than a selling club which is not what you want when trying to get players to join. Maybe I'm giving him too much credit, but it's another angle on it. If he has been doing that I'm sure he'll tell us how clever he's been after the window's shut. Tbh that could be a fair assessment. Looking at JFK's latest interview on the beeb, where he talked about Geremi leaving and the bid for Mbia, he did not look like he was telling the whole truth. I would not be surprised if the whole thing is a charade/smokescreen either for what would end up a very good transfer window, or a totally disastrous turn of events that possibly sees Joe quit the club. Or with a bit of luck both. -

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/west-ham-bemused-by-kinnear-claim-1380324.html Some worryingly embarrassing stuff there. They are probably just stiring the pot though. "He's the nearest thing I've seen to Patrick Vieira," Kinnear said of 22-year-old Mbia. "He is a monster, 6ft 3in, powerhouse, box to box. I would hang my hat on him from what I have seen on him." When asked how much he had seen of Mbia, Kinnear said he had not seen him in the flesh, only on video. An agent in France, whom Kinnear trusts, has recommended the player. . Youtube stikes again! JFK "You guys wont believe how good Mbia is, he is going to take the premiership by storm" Reporter "so how long have you been watching him?" JFK- "Well ive seen some videos" Reporter "There isnt really any bid is there Joe" JFK - ".....no" Reporter - "Are you a greasy, mouthy, mullet wearing liar?." JFK - ".......Yes....... this is all off the record right? Cunt" -
Were people really booing Geremi though, i thought it was N'Zogbia people were booing.

Wispa or Wispa Caramel? It could be a deal breaker.

When are they playing Wigan? Signs for 100m, first appearance is stretchered off with broken legs after a Lee Cattermole challange.

Another fine mess you've gotten me into.... Kinnear releases statements regarding Neill West Ham phone him up and give him and ear full threatening legal action. Joe walks into HQ sweating, walks into Lambias office to find Dennis Wise behind his desk playing with a model of St James Park. JFK - "Wheres Derek?" Wise - "I dunno, think he stayed at home again.. JFK says nothing looking shifty and still sweating. "what did you do Joe?" 30 secs later Wise "Ok lets ring Chris Mort" 30 secs later NUFC statement released on .co.uk

Que??? are they really willing to take that much of a loss on Bale? Doubt there's any truth in that. Even Spurs aren't that thick (business wise) Sounds like a Pleb Rednapp signing though. Cant believe like you say they would let Bale go for that less, hell I would take him here.

We are giving Lovenkrands a match on tuesday behind closed doors, mentioned it in the chronicle I think. He hasnt had the chance to play a full 11 on 11 match yet due to injuries and cancelled training. Seems odd to have the potential loans playing, obviously a smart move if we arent that familiar with them, but could potentially put off the players we had asked to have on loan.

Will have to come out and bite the bullet to explain why we didnt get the players in we needed to stay in the premiership. It would be nice to think he will be able to gloat because we brought in a whole host of name and some great players. But seeing as mentioned along with the fact we are only looking to get two players in doesnt really encourage me. If we are letting someone leave then we need another person in to replace him, so 4/5 players has to become 5/6. LB RB CB? 2x CM RW We dont need another Striker IMO, at least not until we get the rest in.

Caio Vinícius Ferreira signs three-year deal (apparently not)
toontownman replied to joeyt's topic in Football
We should be stocked to the hilt with young stikers soon! Ranger, Zamblera, Ferraira, Baheng (was due back next month), Carrol, Donaldson, Spear, Danquah etc.. Wouldnt mind them trying to find a decent few young midfielders and defenders. Kadar and Tozer look good though. -
You need some senior players for the younger guys to look up to and for leadership on and off the pitch, experience is a great thing and it is supposed to bring reliability. We will however need to find a few more next season and some that actually bring something on the pitch. Owen, Given, Harper, Butt, Viduka, Cacapa, Geremi, Duff, Beye. Would be suprised to see more than Beye still here this time next year.

I dont understand this - we believe him when theres something negative to be contrived out of what he says, but if theres something positive is said no one believes the bullshitter. I believe that he's bent the truth at times, or said stuff prematurely only for things not to go to plan... but he'd be a bit silly to say we've bid for someone when we haven't. barry ferguson springs to mind. christ knows what all that was about. Depends whether whatever the guys bidding and trying to buy players were telling JFK the truth. Wouldnt suprise me in the least to see Rennes come out and say no bid has been received and that they have never heard of Dennis Wise.
