The most irritating person in football at the moment.
toontownman replied to brummie's topic in Football
cant stand him, rather have gone through what we have with keegan and kinnear than have had him in charge, close shave. -
Linked with a loan move for Jo from Man City. Could be a masterstroke or terrible decision. Not much to lose if its a loan though. As much as I wouldnt want to lose Given, Johnson and Onouha and a couple of million would be great comfort, infact might work better in the long run. Bresciano is getting on a bit, was a decent player though for CM. Raul Meireles is by far the most exciting, we were tipped to be signing a 10m midfielder.. surely not though... Know nothing about Tom De Mul, another right winger would be nice though, especially if geremi is off. Lovenkrands is a weird one, still dont know where he would fit in unless we are expecting Owen to be off this window.

Jose Enrique out for at least three weeks with hamstring injury
toontownman replied to a topic in Football
I just cant understand the logic with selling Enrique. We have not had a competitive pair of fullbacks since keegans first stint, on either side. So great we get Riise in and sell Enrique but we are in the same position as we are now except our new LB has no potential. As much as both Carr and Babayaro took the piss and were terrible at the best of times for us, a major part of that was contributed to the fact they had each position in the bag so it mattered little whether they played or not they would always be in the starting line up. Whilst you can polish a turd we would have seen different players in Baba and the troll if they had people pushing them for theyre places. When Enrique goes this window it will be another page in the Newcastle United book of ineptitude. Our club is pathetic and has been for years. -
Owen staying would be a bigger boost than Shay. As mentioned Harper would come in and do a decent job if Given departed. The impact would be bigger off the pitch imo, it would show (true or not) an indication of the ambition of the club which would not only impact the players at the club but any prospective signings for the summer. Owen is a much bigger pull for players and if he was to sign on again would be a huge boost the fans, players and anyone involved in the club. Whilst obviously Shay staying would be fantastic too the reaction would be far less monumental. The stone cold reality is both players will be gone come next pre-season, where that leaves us we will have to find out. Whomever is in charge of the team and the club by that point will have the biggest challenge of any manager to walk through the doors in the past 10 years.

Exactly where he prefers, I still wouldn't want him unless he has changed magnificently from when he was at Rangers Right wing? Good if true but I didnt think he had ever played there, certainly played alot for Rangers wide left. He calls himself an out and out striker though. http://sport.scotsman.com/rangersfc/Lovenkrands-makes-case-for-the.2742286.jp

West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll

Just because he played well today and ok at Hull doesnt mean he isnt a tosser that thinks he has made it still. I wouldnt know either way though, just saying. -
Cant really see why we would need Lovenkrands though unless he can play on the right. He prefers playing up front, cant see him jumping ahead of Owen and Martins will be back soonish. He isnt as good as Duff, N'Zog or Jonas on the left, so bit of a strange one. Wish we would sign a bloody CM! A midfield dominator and leader is what we are missing, someone in the lampard, gerrard, Viera mould would have won us the game today. Might be worth gambling on M'Bami

http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/122060/NEWCASTLE-2-WEST-HAM-2.html Cant see him being up to much if he's been released and the likes of Hull and Birmingham dont even fancy him. Havent really seen anything of him, he has scored alot in Scotland but not many strikers playing for Celtic or Rangers dont.

Going to keep praising him after each match, have to make the most of it whilst this form lasts! Fantastic again today, on the ball and off it. Might have some problems keeping hold of him at this rate. Fantastic pro off the pitch too for being so young, always says the right things.

Thought Bassong looked even better on the ball that colo today, skinned a couple of hammers players. Would certainly like to see Colo moved to DM though. Problem is that means Edgar coming into the team with him or Taylor moving to CB. Rather not see that happen. Now if we can bring a decent CB in to play with Bassong...

I agree but his passing is very very inconsistent at the moment. I'm not sure why, maybe it's confidence because generally, last season, his passing wasn't as erratic and volatile as it has been this season. In the short-term, he can be a liability. But, he's still young and it's his first full season in the Premiership so I believe he will get better in time and if confidence is shown in him now, it will be rewarded. Erratic is the right word, he certainly can pass and even cross the ball well when he wants to, but much like butt has complete shockers and they are always the simple passes. Its a big worry because it happens too much in our team and it is costing us, if we are not punished we usually end up giving away a free kick trying to win it back. That said I completely agree with Sicko, Enrique does not get out paced, he does not get out-muscled, he is a solid left back, young and only going to improve, he has all the attributes to be a top class left back but does need competition and a bit of sheltering imo. There is much he needs to improve on but its worth giving him the time. -
the mackems I know seem to think they're getting M'Bami like Mbami's agent made it up. Mackems have denied evening knowing who he was. Not going there. Good news on Smith... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1111666/Middlesbrough-boss-Southgate-believes-talk-Smith-around.html?ITO=1490 No quotes as per usual, but lets pray its true. Would put the Boyd rumours to bed aswell.

N'Zogbia: Lyon interested according to agent

I dont particularly like booing, i wouldnt ever do it. but i can understand why people did it, its not as if the club is going to do anything about his behavior. -
So much better on the left. stick nzog in for geremi and keep butt on the bench for hull.

Should have buried that earlier chance. thought he had a great game, as much as i would have liked xisco to have played he wouldnt have been close to carols performance. -

Looked sharp again today. we have to keep him here at least until the summer. -
definately agree. replacing kinnear has to happen. but at the end of the season. we need consistency right now, a new manager could cause more problems than not regardless of who it is. should we stay up we will have much more interest and choice of managers in the summer.
