Newcastle United 2 - 2 Stoke City - 06/12/08 - Post match reaction from page 16

This x10. Cant highlight any better how we need 2 decent CM players in January. Geremi, Jonas, N'Zogbia, Butt - cant play well enough for us in central midfield. Pathetic second half display, JFK needs to pull his nose out MO's arse and realise he will sign with any club that will pay his wages in January rather than stay here. Taking Oba off was another coco the clown decision. On an up point N'Zog looked good. -
Sunderland appoint Steve 'I bleed black and white' Bruce as new manager

Big Sam nailed on IMO. Not overly bothered by that either he isnt any better than Kinnear, both all talk but will get their sides fired up for a few games. Phil Browns got a decent set up there, I dont think he would walk out on them this season. -
Is this thread the Holby city to The N-O Heavyweight Championship: NE5 Vs. The WORLD Thread's casualty? maybe there should be a board for board bored banter?

The FA Cup: Hull/Newcastle v Millwall, Sunderland v Blackburn

Dont fancy our chances, but lets see what january brings. -
Better off staying away certainly right now. if he turns up for the stoke game im in no doubt the majority would accept him, however it only takes a couple of twats with a banner or trying to have a pop and the rest of the ground will be distracted and we will be in danger of throwing more points down the drain.

Still no.

Going to disturb them as much as they were wondering what they were getting for tea tonight. They are paid professionals not 10 year old girls despite how a couple of them play.

I think it's a pity that Gonzales has been injured because I thought he had something about him against Hull. Aye, he looked like he had a decent eye for a pass, i'd be suprised if he is given a chance although I dont see any reason why we shouldnt keep him until the end of the season at least. Kinnear hasnt seen much of him surely?
-
Would be happy with that, Moving Beye into the centre is an option if needed. CB - Colo, Bassong, Taylor, Beye, with Cacapa and Edgar, Kadar etc being the dregs (wouldnt be suprised to see Cacapa and Edgar shipped out though) LB and RB speaks for itself. CM certainly is an area we need to improve we might be able to limp through to the summer without a decent RW. Wouldnt be suprised to see Xisco and Gonzalez shipped straight out again.

Really we should be looking to sign players that are better than the ones we already have. If its 3 new signings in January it should be a CB, LB and ACM that said a RW wouldnt hurt at all. Enrique needs someone to learn from he is happy here and ready to get his head down so go for it IMO. We need to raise the standard of the squad rather than average it out.

Can't really complain at that, dissapointing we couldnt find the net, but a point is all we deserved today and its a point that could very well come in handy down the road. For me Bassong MOM closely followed by Guthrie for the second week in a row. Given 7 - Had little to do but was fantastic whenever called into action, fantastic in the air under nasty conditions Beye 6 - Solid enough, didnt get forward enough for me, he and Jonas arent clicking regularly yet. Colo 7 - Pretty solid and calm all the way through, although had two slips or moments of madness. Bassong 8 - What a player this guy is turning out to be, although we have seen it before with youngsters coming in, does he get ground down or does he make the step up, if its the latter we will at worst see a lot of money coming our way from a bigger club. Enrique 4.5 - not convinced, head isnt in the game and the little good he does do he throws away with moments of madness, lapses of concentration or just woeful decision making, I hope he stays with us but we need a better LB for him to learn from, the talent is there if he can buckle down and master it. Jonas 6 - Was never really unleashed, matter of time before the majority of the board is ripping him to shreds for having no end product or vision to shoot. Works so hard, was running rings around boro players in the first half. Will benefit with Vidukas return. Butt 6 - A decent showing more than not his passes were good, improving on his normal extremes of sublime ball followed by a shocker. Battled hard and like Jonas, shockingly ran rings round some boro players on more than one occasion. Guthrie 7.5 - This guy has a huge upside, the execution isnt quite there at times but he had another massive game, the game time will be improving him with each minute, will be interesting to see how his position is defined over the next couple of years. N'Zog 6 - Some shocking balls in the first half, but worked very hard got a little more space in the second and looked more of a threat, was lively did he do enough to hoist Duff out of the team for next week? ask JFK on that one. Owen 5 - Mr Anonymous, not to say he didnt work hard, but had little to feed off should have been taken off for Viduka. Martins 6 - Lively, caused problems, could have done better at times but was our biggest threat infront of goal. Right to be upset when taken off, his contribution was as big as anyones, would have caused more problems than MO did alongside Viduka. Viduka 5 - certainly added when he came on, will be a huge addition if we can keep him fit. JFK 7 - Worth an 8, docked a point for subbing Martins, stuck with last weeks team as well as he could, defence is in great shape. I can see his gamble with Martins, MO is more clinical if he gets a chance however Oba looked more dangerous and worked harder. A point and cleansheet is a decent result, if we can do this away and pick up points at home we will be in much better shape. Shame the results around us havent helped us (again). Ref had a good game overall too. -

final or pivitol balls have been woefully lacking. enrique has bee reasonably wank. but happy with everything else we just lack the spark of true quality. bassong fantastic. wheater looks good for the smogs. -

I miss duff and shola. -
There is a whole host of players that could go. regardless i would expect our january squad building to result in letting more players go than we bring in.

N'Zogbia: Lyon interested according to agent
toontownman replied to TêteDeMaure's topic in Football
Rather he left to PSG than someone else in the premier league. He needs one on one motivating and confidence, but to some extent you really have to earn that when there is competition for your place or you will be left behind. If we invest in a LB and a decent RW then N'Zogbia wont be missed. -
With the piss weak central midfield we have at the minute and JFK's apparent hard on for duff I'd be happy to see Duff and N'Zogbia on either wing. Then Jonas in the centre. Its not spideys best position but I think he gives more going forward than Butt or Guthrie. Guthrie Duff N'Zog Jonas Jonas/N'Zog was my pick though, which is an obvious one on paper. Can see Jonas and Duff's attitudes and application in training pissing all over N'Zogs which is more than likely why he is on the bench.

thought it was a close call between bassong and guthrie for mom. the latter had an excellent second half, despite that its easy to see two quality cm players completely changing the side. if we had of given them butt and guthrie in return of deco and lampard we could have seen a different game. two cm are a bigger priority than cb or lb. -

Tight between bassong and guthrie for mom. dirty point but we worked so hard for it. -
Wouldnt be suprised to see him take the watford job if they offer him it, especially if the press keep pushing the shearer rumors (true or not). i doubt anyone upstairs has given him much info, thats if they talk to him at all. could well find ourselves back to hughton and the sale falling through or worse dragging on past january.

shearer and lee, but only if speed returns aswell! if the former two do return then i hope either kinnear stays around or another old head is brought into the set up. -

More nervous than a nun in a brothel. possibly looking at the biggest loss of the season so far. that said i tend to fear that everytime we play at the moment. 3/4-0 to chelski. -
sibbers never should have been let go. good squad player. a fit dyer or emre would have been good but never likely to happen. probably faye for me always looked solid at dm. and would have played most games this season.
